Abstract
Description
The present invention relates to a volatile organic compound removal method and apparatus for removing volatile organic compounds (hereinafter referred to as VOC) and odors in internal spaces such as buildings and vehicles using humidity control.
In recent years, due to VOC contamination in indoor air, many residents who complain of poor physical condition such as irritation of the throat and eyes, dizziness, headache, etc. have been reported immediately after new construction or renovation of houses and buildings. It is called sick house (indoor air pollution) syndrome because there are various symptoms, the mechanism of symptom occurrence, many unexplained parts, and various complex factors.
Volatile and highly toxic formaldehyde was the first to be regulated (1997), and then in 2000, eight types of toluene, xylene, paradichlorobenzene, ethylbenzene, styrene, di-n-butyl phthalate, and chlorpyrifos At the same time, a provisional target value was set so that TVOC (total VOC) was 400 μg / m 3 or less in order to “regulate the total amount” of chemical substances. In 2001, tetradecane, 2-diethylhexyl phthalate, and diazinone were added, and in 2002, acetaldehyde and fenobucarb were added. The indoor concentration guideline values for these substances were formulated by the Ministry of Health, Labor and Welfare.
Conventional measures to reduce the concentration of chemical substances in indoor air include ventilation, absorption chemical use (Patent Document 1), deodorizer usage, heating method (bakeout method), and ozone spraying method. There is a method of applying an outbreak prevention drug.
These conventional methods are roughly classified into a method for removing VOC and odor in the internal space, and a method for promoting or preventing the emission from the interior member containing VOC and odor. Is a ventilation method, and the latter is a heating method (60 ° C. or higher) (Non-patent Document 1).
More specifically, based on this
The problem to be solved is that the ventilation method is effective in removing VOCs released into the air in the interior space, but does not promote the emission of VOCs from the interior members. It is necessary to continue the ventilation process for a long time, and a large amount of ventilation is a heavy burden on the air conditioning and air conditioning.
On the other hand, in the heating method widely used as the latter, there is a risk of deteriorating the interior members, installation objects and the like, and it is not preferable to perform the heat treatment particularly when the installation objects and the like are installed.
In addition, the drug usage is often expensive in any treatment, and it is difficult to cope with the case where VOC and odor are continuously generated. In places where VOCs and odors are continuously generated, heat expiry is large in a large amount of ventilation and it is difficult to introduce air conditioning and air conditioning.
According to the method of
(1) When bakeout 1 (heating + circulation of room air + forced exhaustion) was treated for 10 cycles, TVOC decreased but formaldehyde increased.
(2) When Bakeout 1 was treated for 5 cycles, both TVOC and formaldehyde increased.
(3) When 10 cycles of bakeout 2 (heating / humidification + circulation of room air + forced exhaust) were treated, TVOC increased and formaldehyde decreased.
Regarding this test result, according to the description in
Problems with the method described in
First of all, since humidification by a humidifier is merely sprayed into the room in the form of water particles, that is, in a liquid phase, the VOC is dissolved and collected in water droplets attached to the surface of a building material or the like. If it happens, it is only slightly reduced and not a radical removal effect. In addition, VOCs that are dissolved and collected in water droplets are limited to hydrophilic substances and have no effect on hydrophobic substances. The reason why the effect does not appear even after the completion of the above test is thought to be due to this reason.
Secondly, since the dehumidification referred to in the above method is performed by a dehumidifier, it only uses the fact that the saturated humidity changes as the room temperature changes, and removes even internal volatile organic substances such as building materials. It is impossible to do.
Third, even if forced exhaust, only the volatile organic substances on the surface of building materials and the like are exhausted, and the internal volatile organic substances are not removed.
A first object of the present invention is to execute a VOC and odor removal process safely and at a low price without damaging interior members and installation items in a short period of time.
Another object of the present invention is to continuously remove VOC and odor in a space where odor is generated without removing large ventilation.
The present invention uses a humidifying device and a dehumidifying device, or uses a steam humidifying device and a dehumidifying device, and first activates the adsorption and desorption of water molecules by heating the indoor space temperature to about the summer outdoor temperature as necessary. In addition, the air is once humidified to a high gas phase within a range where the air does not reach saturation. Due to the water molecules in the gas phase state, VOCs and odors adsorbed or impregnated not only on the surfaces of the interior members, installations, etc. but also odors are promoted into the air as a composite gas. In addition, even if the same amount of water is used, the gas water molecules are more than 1,000 times larger in area than the water in the droplets, which is advantageous for forming a complex with VOC. It is extremely preferable for adsorbing VOC and odor in the air in the space.
Next, after keeping the inside of the space at a high humidity, the humidity is reduced by dehumidifying it to a winter outdoor air level. Then, the VOC and the odorous substance combined with the water molecules in the air are discharged to the outside together with the outside air, and reattachment is prevented.
In a space where VOC and odor are continuously generated, a circuit in which air circulates is configured with a duct, and the humidifier and dehumidifier are operated continuously to adsorb VOC and odor to water molecules (complex formation). After dehumidifying, dehumidify and exhaust to the open air.
According to the first aspect of the present invention, the volatile organic compound adsorbed or impregnated in the volatile organic compound generation source is highly humidified within a range in which the volatile organic compound is to be removed in a range not saturated. A first step of dissipating the air into the air by forming a complex gas with the generated gaseous water molecules, and a first step of discharging the volatile organic compound diffused together with the water molecules by the first step out of the space by dehumidifying action. Since the volatile organic compound removal method is characterized by comprising two steps, the space is highly uniformly humidified to the dew point in the first step, and water molecules in the gas phase are volatile organic compounds. Infiltrate deep inside the source. And since the volatile organic compound that has formed a complex with water has a higher vapor pressure than the volatile organic compound simple substance gas, not only the surface of the volatile organic compound generation source but also the volatile organic compound existing inside. Further promote the release to the outside (in the air).
Also, the humidity is reduced in the second step. When dehumidified by chemical hygroscopic action, it is discharged as a gas after treatment, so that volatile organic compounds and odorous substances complexed with water molecules in the air are discharged to the outside in a gaseous state, and re-adhesion occurs. Is prevented. In addition, when dehumidification is performed by lowering the room temperature and lowering the saturation point, volatile organic compounds and odorous substances are discharged outside the room in a liquid phase, and reattachment is prevented.
According to invention of
According to the third aspect of the present invention, the circulation circuit that returns to the space through the space where the volatile organic compound is to be removed, the humidifier, and the dehumidifier is connected by the external duct, and the humidifier is connected to the humidifier in the first step. After sucking the air in the space and adsorbing the volatile organic compound to the water molecules (complex formation), the dehumidifying device dehumidifies in the second step, and the operation to return to the space is continuously operated. In a space where volatile organic compounds are continuously generated, the concentration of volatile organic compounds in the internal space can be reduced without performing a large amount of ventilation with a large heat deactivation.
According to the invention of
According to the invention described in
According to the sixth aspect of the invention, since the first step and the second step are set as one cycle and a plurality of cycles are repeated, the volatile organic compound concentration in the internal space can be removed to a lower concentration.
According to the invention of claim 7, the volatile organic compound adsorbed or impregnated in the volatile organic compound generation source in the space where the volatile organic compound is to be removed is formed in the air by forming a complex gas with gaseous water molecules. A humidifier that humidifies in order to promote diffusion to the air and a dehumidifier that dehumidifies to discharge volatile organic compounds that are diffused together with water molecules into the air. Along with humidity change, the volatile organic compound can be absorbed not only in the air but also from the internal member material and removed without damaging the interior member, and can be provided at low cost.

Further, when dehumidification is performed by lowering the indoor temperature and lowering the saturation point, the liquid is discharged out of the room in a liquid state, and reattachment is prevented.

In a space where VOC and odor are continuously generated, a circuit that circulates air through the space, a humidifying device, and a dehumidifying device in order of returning to the space is connected by a duct, and the air in the space is sucked into the humidifying device. Then, after the VOC and odor are formed into a complex gas with water molecules, the operation of dehumidifying with a dehumidifier and returning to the space is continuously performed.

Next, a method for removing VOC (volatile organic compound) according to the present invention will be described.

In FIG. 1 (a), after the
Therefore, the
When the inside of the
In addition, the space temperature in the
Incidentally, in the measurement example of FIG. 2, the humidification of the first step was continuously performed for 24 hours. Then, as shown in the characteristic curve e, the room RH increased from about 38% to about 95% after 24 hours. As shown in the characteristic curve g, the outside air RH is almost unchanged at about 38%. The room temperature, which was initially about 12 ° C. as shown by the characteristic curve d, rose to about 15 ° C. after 24 hours. As shown in the characteristic curve f, the outside air temperature hardly changes at about 12 ° C. The reason why the increase in the room temperature is small is that it is eaten by humidification.
Thus, while humidification is continued for 24 hours, the characteristic curve a indicating the indoor concentration of formaldehyde during humidification in the sealed indoor space to be measured 10 tends to increase. This is because water molecules in a gas phase state increase the vapor pressure of the VOC existing on the surface and inside of the
Second step (VOC discharge step by dehumidification)
After the end of the first step (step of releasing the VOC from the member of the VOC by the gaseous water molecules in the humidified state) (24 hours have elapsed), as shown in FIG. 1B, the switching
In this way, the VOC and odorous substance that are complexed with water molecules in the air are discharged to the outside in a gaseous state, and reattachment is prevented. Further, when dehumidification is performed by lowering the indoor temperature and lowering the saturation point, the liquid is discharged out of the room in a liquid state, and reattachment is prevented.
In addition, about 30 minutes after the hygrometer of the temperature /
Incidentally, in the example of FIG. 2, as shown in the characteristic curve e, the room RH is about 95% at the time of humidification in the first step, and is about 15% at the end of the second step (after 50 hours). Decreased. Then, the characteristic curve a indicating the indoor concentration of formaldehyde was significantly reduced from 0.143 ppm to 0.005 ppm or less. At this time, the indoor concentration of formaldehyde decreases sharply in 24 to 40 hours when the amount of change in indoor RH is large, and the decreasing rate tends to decrease in 40 to 50 hours when the rate of change becomes small. It was.
It should be noted that the outside air RH is almost unchanged at about 38% as shown by the characteristic curve g. Further, as indicated by the characteristic curve d, the room temperature was initially about 15 ° C., but increased to about 23 ° C. after 50 hours. As shown in the characteristic curve f, the outside air temperature hardly changes at about 12 ° C. The room temperature d rises due to dehumidification.
In FIG. 2, when the
FIG. 3 shows a test result obtained by removing formaldehyde at a higher concentration than in the example of FIG. 2, and a removal effect similar to that in the case of FIG. 2 is seen.
In FIG. 3, the formaldehyde removal effect is excellent at 135 to 145 minutes and 165 to 190 minutes with a large rate of change in the room RH. That is, although it shows a tendency to increase slightly if it is not dehumidified, it shows that the formaldehyde removal effect appears significantly when the room RH is rapidly lowered.
In FIG. 4 showing the effect of removing toluene, there is an extremely excellent effect of removing toluene at 65 to 100 minutes where the rate of change when the indoor RH decreases is large. However, this indicates that there is almost no toluene removal effect not only for 30 to 50 minutes and 55 to 65 minutes when the rate of change of the indoor RH is small, but also for 50 to 55 minutes when the rate of change at the time of increase is large. In other words, toluene also has an excellent removal effect when the room RH is rapidly reduced.

FIG. 8 shows the measurement results of the removal rate by the method of the present invention for each of benzene, toluene, formaldehyde, and ammonia.
The measurement conditions are: measurement box volume: 0.195 m 3 ,
Under these conditions, benzene was removed by 25.4%, toluene was removed by 41.8%, formaldehyde was removed by 77.2%, and ammonia was removed by 90.6% in terms of benzene. 52.9% in terms of formaldehyde was removed.
