Abstract
Description
The present invention relates to a hologram recording material, a hologram recording medium, and a method for producing a hologram recording material.
In recent years, a method using a holography technique for recording interference fringes caused by light interference has attracted attention as a recording means capable of achieving a larger capacity than a conventional optical recording medium. In this method, for example, a recording material that causes a change in refractive index in accordance with the intensity of irradiated light is used, and interference fringes are recorded as a refractive index distribution that corresponds to the intensity distribution of the light. To record. The interference fringes thus recorded are generally called holograms.
By the way, high diffraction efficiency is required for a hologram recording material that performs recording using the above-described change in refractive index. "Diffraction efficiency" refers to the proportion of light that is effectively used to reproduce a reproduced image in the irradiated reproduced light. The higher the diffraction efficiency, the brighter the reproduced image, and the recorded information can be read with good reproducibility. The diffraction efficiency tends to be higher as the recording material has a larger change in the refractive index corresponding to the intensity of the irradiated light.
In the above-mentioned conventional photosensitive composition for hologram, first, the polymerization reaction of the monomer component proceeds at the site irradiated with light. When the polymerization reaction occurs in the composition in this way, the monomer component moves from the surroundings to the reaction site in order to compensate for the consumption of the monomer component. At the same time, other components at the reaction site (components other than the monomer component and its copolymer; in the above-mentioned prior art, this corresponds to a high molecular polymer or a vinyl polymer) are extruded therefrom. Thus, in the photosensitive composition, a region having a high concentration of the polymer obtained by polymerizing the monomer component and a region having a high concentration of other components are produced, and a difference in composition occurs between the respective regions. In this case, since the polymer of the monomer component and the other components have different refractive indexes, a refractive index difference based on the difference in composition occurs in the photosensitive composition, and interference fringes are recorded by this refractive index difference. The
However, recording materials that record interference fringes due to these refractive index differences have not yet achieved sufficient diffraction efficiency, and further studies are needed to put it into practical use as a hologram recording material that can be recorded with high accuracy. Was necessary.
Further, when producing a hologram recording material as in
The hologram recording material according to the present invention is irradiated with light by a fluorine-containing polymerizable monomer containing fluorine, a fluorine-modified metal oxide in which an organic group containing fluorine is bonded to the surface of the metal oxide, and light. And a photopolymerization initiator for initiating polymerization of the fluorine-containing monomer.
The hologram recording medium according to the present invention includes a substrate and a recording layer formed on the substrate. The recording layer is formed on the surface of the metal oxide and a fluorine-containing monomer containing fluorine and polymerizable. It has a fluorine-modified metal oxide to which an organic group containing fluorine is bonded, and a photopolymerization initiator that starts polymerization of a fluorine-containing monomer when irradiated with light.
The hologram recording medium according to the present invention includes a substrate and a hologram recording layer formed on the substrate and recorded with interference fringes, and the hologram recording layer contains a fluorine-containing polymerizable monomer containing fluorine. A polymer obtained by polymerizing a fluorine-containing monomer by irradiating light in the presence of a photopolymerization initiator, and a fluorine-modified metal oxide in which an organic group containing fluorine is bonded to the surface of the metal oxide It is characterized by containing.
According to the hologram recording material and the recording medium of the present invention, a fluorine-containing and polymerizable fluorine-containing monomer, a fluorine-modified metal oxide in which an organic group containing fluorine is bonded to the surface of the metal oxide, and light Is uniformly dispersed with the photopolymerization initiator that initiates the polymerization of the fluorine-containing monomer. When a part of the hologram recording material is irradiated with light, the photopolymerization initiator of the light irradiation part causes a polymerization reaction of fluorine-containing and polymerizable fluorine-containing monomers. A polymer of the containing monomer is formed. In order to compensate for the fluorine-containing monomer consumed by the polymerization reaction, movement / diffusion occurs from the adjacent unirradiated portion to the light irradiated portion where the polymerization reaction occurs.
On the other hand, the fluorine-modified metal oxide in the region irradiated with light is extruded by polymerization of the fluorine-containing monomer, and moves to the adjacent unirradiated part where the monomer is consumed. That is, the polymer of the fluorine-containing monomer and the fluorine-modified metal oxide are phase-separated in a micro region. Therefore, when the interference fringes formed by superimposing the image information and the reference light on this medium are exposed, a portion having a high polymer concentration and a portion having a high concentration of the fluorine-modified metal oxide in the medium correspond to the light shade Interference fringes are recorded. When reference light is applied to such a medium, image information can be reproduced by a diffraction effect generated from a difference in refractive index based on the difference in composition.
Here, the hologram recording material and the recording medium of the present invention have a fluorine-containing monomer that contains fluorine and can be polymerized, and a fluorine-modified metal oxide having an organic group containing fluorine on the surface. Since it has fluorine, the compatibility between the fluorine-containing monomer and the fluorine-modified metal oxide is good. Therefore, since the fluorine-containing monomer and the fluorine-modified metal oxide can be sufficiently mixed and dispersed, a highly transparent hologram recording medium can be produced.
Further, according to the hologram recording material and recording medium of the present invention, the refractive index of the polymer of the fluorine-containing monomer is about 1.3 which is lower among various substances, and can be sufficiently lower than that of the fluorine-modified metal oxide. For this reason, a hologram recording medium having high diffraction efficiency can be produced.
Here, the fluorine-containing organic group bonded to the fluorine-modified metal oxide preferably has a — (CF 2 ) n CF 3 group (where 0 ≦ n ≦ 30). Thereby, the compatibility between the fluorine-containing monomer and the fluorine-modified metal oxide is particularly good, and a hologram recording medium with higher transparency can be produced.
Further, the metal oxide of the fluorine-modified metal oxide preferably includes an oxide selected from the group consisting of titanium oxide, silicon oxide, indium oxide, and tin oxide. The refractive index of these oxides, for example with TiO 2 2.5 approximately, of SiO 2 of about 1.5, about 2.0 in InO 2, a 2.1 degree in SnO 2, polymers of fluorine-containing monomer This is sufficiently higher than the refractive index of about 1.3. For this reason, a hologram recording medium having high diffraction efficiency can be produced. Among these, titanium oxide is preferable because it has a high refractive index among various substances and a difference in refractive index from the polymer of the fluorine-containing monomer is particularly large.
Here, the fluorine-containing monomer tends to form a polymer by a radical polymerization reaction. Therefore, the above-mentioned photopolymerization initiator is preferably an initiator that generates radicals when irradiated with light. According to this, the monomer can be photopolymerized at a high degree of polymerization, and thus the monomer is sufficiently consumed, so that the composition of the portion having a high polymer concentration and the portion having a high metal oxide concentration is increased, and the refractive index difference is increased. Increases the diffraction efficiency.
The method for producing a hologram recording material according to the present invention includes a surface treatment step of treating a surface of a metal oxide using a compound having a hydrophilic group and an organic group containing fluorine, and the surface-treated metal oxide, fluorine And a recording layer forming step comprising a mixing step of mixing in a solvent a polymerizable fluorine-containing monomer containing a photopolymerization initiator that initiates polymerization of the fluorine-containing monomer when irradiated with light. And
According to the method for producing a hologram recording material of the present invention, in the surface treatment step, the hydrophilic group of the compound having a hydrophilic group and an organic group containing fluorine forms a bond with the surface of the metal oxide. Thereby, the surface of a metal oxide will be equipped with the organic group containing a fluorine. In the recording layer forming step, the fluorine-modified metal oxide and the fluorine-containing monomer can be mixed well because they each contain fluorine. Therefore, since the fluorine-containing monomer and the fluorine-modified metal oxide can be sufficiently mixed and dispersed, a highly transparent hologram recording medium can be produced. Moreover, the refractive index of the polymer of a fluorine-containing monomer is about 1.3 which is low among various substances, and can be sufficiently lower than that of a fluorine-modified metal oxide. For this reason, a hologram recording medium having high diffraction efficiency can be produced.
According to the present invention, since a hologram recording material and recording medium having high diffraction efficiency and high transparency can be obtained, hologram recording with high recording density and excellent reproducibility can be performed.

The
And the
Here, examples of the fluorine-containing monomer of the hologram recording material include vinyl fluoride, vinylidene fluoride, ethylene trifluoride, tetrafluoroethylene, and perfluorobutenyl vinyl ether.
Further, as the above-mentioned fluorine-containing monomer, a mixture of monomers containing at least one monomer containing fluorine and capable of polymerization may be used. Specifically, tetrafluoroethylene / hexafluoropropylene, ethylene / tetrafluoroethylene, ethylene / trichloroethylene copolymer, tetrafluoroethylene / hexafluoropropylene / vinylidene fluoride, tetrafluoroethylene -Combinations of perfluoroalkyl ether, fluoroethylene / vinyl ether, tetrafluoroethylene / hexafluoropropylene / perfluoroalkyl vinyl ether, etc. may be mentioned.
Further, the fluorine-modified metal oxide is obtained by bonding an organic group containing fluorine to the surface of the metal oxide.
Examples of the fluorine-containing organic group include a perfluoroalkyl group, a branched type fluoroalkyl group obtained by substituting one or more fluorine atoms therein with a perfluoroalkyl group, and all the hydrogen atoms of an aromatic ring.
Here, the organic group containing fluorine - (CF 2) n CF 3 group preferably has a (where 0 ≦ n ≦ 30), - (CF 2)
Examples of the metal oxide include zinc oxide, aluminum oxide, antimony oxide, chromium oxide, cerium oxide, yttrium oxide, zirconium oxide, copper oxide, iron oxide, magnesium oxide, manganese oxide, holmium oxide, bismuth oxide, Examples include cobalt oxide, erbium oxide, gadolinium oxide, indium oxide, nickel oxide, strontium oxide, ytterbium oxide, and the like. The particle size of such a metal oxide is preferably about 1 to 200 nm, and more preferably 10 to 100 nm.
Here, the metal oxide is titanium oxide (for example, TiO 2 , Ti 2 O 3, etc.), silicon oxide (for example, SiO 2 , Si 2 O 3, etc.), indium oxide (for example, InO 2 , In 2 O 3, etc.). ), Tin oxide (for example, SnO 2 , Sn 2 O 3 etc.) is preferable. The refractive index of these oxides, for example with TiO 2 2.5 approximately, of SiO 2 of about 1.5, about 2.0 in InO 2, a 2.1 degree in SnO 2, polymers of fluorine-containing monomer The refractive index can be sufficiently higher than about 1.3. For this reason, a hologram recording medium having high diffraction efficiency can be produced. Of these, TiO 2 is preferable because it has a high refractive index of about 2.5 and a particularly large difference in refractive index from the polymer of the fluorine-containing monomer.
Next, the photopolymerization initiator will be described. The photopolymerization initiator used in the present embodiment is a compound that starts polymerization of a fluorine-containing monomer when irradiated with light.
Here, the fluorine-containing monomer tends to form a polymer by a radical polymerization reaction. Therefore, the above-mentioned photopolymerization initiator may be other photopolymerization initiators such as ionicity, but is preferably an initiator that generates radicals when irradiated with light. According to this, the monomer can be photopolymerized with a high degree of polymerization, and therefore the monomer is sufficiently consumed, so that the difference in composition between the portion having a high polymer concentration and the portion having a high metal oxide concentration increases, and the refractive Since the rate difference becomes large, the diffraction efficiency can be further increased.

First, metal oxide particles are prepared. Examples of such metal oxides include zinc oxide, aluminum oxide, antimony oxide, chromium oxide, cerium oxide, yttrium oxide, zirconium oxide, copper oxide, iron oxide, magnesium oxide, manganese oxide, holmium oxide, bismuth oxide, and cobalt oxide. Erbium oxide, gadolinium oxide, indium oxide, nickel oxide, strontium oxide, ytterbium oxide, and the like. In particular, examples of the metal oxide include titanium oxide (eg, TiO 2 , Ti 2 O 3, etc.), silicon oxide (eg, SiO 2 , Si 2 O 3, etc.), indium oxide (eg, InO 2 , In 2 O 3). Etc.), tin oxides (for example, SnO 2 , Sn 2 O 3 etc.) are preferred, and the refractive index of the metal oxide is preferably 1.3% of the refractive index of the polymer of the fluorine-containing monomer. Can be sufficiently higher than the degree. For this reason, a hologram recording medium having high diffraction efficiency can be produced. Such metal oxide particles can be formed, for example, by hydrolyzing a metal alkoxide. According to such hydrolysis of metal alkoxide, that is, the sol-gel method, the particle diameter of the metal oxide can be easily controlled by temperature, time, etc., and metal oxide fine particles having a desired particle diameter and little aggregation are obtained. A solution containing it is easily obtained.
The particle size of the metal oxide particles thus obtained is not particularly limited, but is preferably 1 to 100 nm in order to increase dispersibility and increase diffusibility in the hologram recording material during light irradiation. 10 to 100 nm is more preferable.
Subsequently, in the surface treatment step, the surface treatment of the metal oxide is performed using a compound having a hydrophilic group and an organic group containing fluorine.
Examples of the hydrophilic group of the compound having a hydrophilic group and an organic group containing fluorine used in the surface treatment step include a hydroxyl group, an alkoxy group such as —OCH 3 , —OC 2 H 5 , and —OC 3 H 7 , a carboxyl group, A sulfo group is mentioned. In addition, examples of the fluorine-containing group of the compound having a hydrophilic group and an organic group containing fluorine include, for example, a perfluoroalkyl group, a branched type perfluoroalkyl group in which one or more fluorine atoms are substituted with a perfluoroalkyl group. Examples thereof include a fluoroalkyl group and a perfluoroalkyl group of a type in which all hydrogen atoms of an aromatic ring are substituted with a fluorine atom or a perfluoroalkyl group.

Specific examples of the compound having a hydrophilic group and an organic group containing fluorine include compounds represented by general formula (1) or (2) or general formula (3).
In the general formula (1), n is an integer of 0 to 8.
In said general formula (2), n is an integer in any one of 3-9.
In said general formula (3), n is an integer in any one of 3-9.
When the surface treatment step of treating the surface of the metal oxide using such a compound having a hydrophilic group and a fluorine-containing organic group is performed, the hydrophilic group of the compound having a hydrophilic group and a fluorine-containing organic group is a metal. In order to bond with the surface of the oxide, the surface of the metal oxide has an organic group containing fluorine. The reaction between the compound having a hydrophilic group and an organic group containing fluorine and the metal oxide is preferably performed in a solvent such as toluene.
Next, in the mixing step, the surface-treated metal oxide, a fluorine-containing polymerizable fluorine-containing monomer, and a photopolymerization initiator that starts polymerization of the fluorine-containing monomer when irradiated with light. A coating solution is prepared by mixing in a solvent. Here, examples of the solvent used for mixing include toluene, tetrahydrofuran, ethyl acetate, acetone, isopropanol, ethanol, methanol, tetrafluoropropanol, fluorinate, dichloromethane, and chloroform. In addition, when the solvent used for mixing is the same as the solvent used for the reaction between the compound having a hydrophilic group and an organic group containing fluorine and the metal oxide, this step and the surface treatment step are performed together. It is possible. Here, the above-mentioned thing can be used for a fluorine-containing monomer and a photoinitiator.
At this time, since the fluorine-containing monomer and the fluorine-modified metal oxide have fluorine each other, their compatibility is good. Therefore, the fluorine-containing monomer and the fluorine-modified metal oxide can be sufficiently mixed and dispersed.
Subsequently, in the coating step, a liquid in which the fluorine-containing monomer and the fluorine-modified metal oxide are thus dispersed is applied to the
Subsequently, in the solvent removal step, the
Here, since the film is obtained and the
The refractive index of the polymer of the fluorine-containing monomer is about 1.3, the metal oxide in the fluorine-modified metal oxide, for example TiO 2 in about 2.5, of SiO 2 of about 1.5, with InO 2 About 2.0 and about 2.1 for SnO 2 , these refractive index differences are sufficiently large. For this reason, the
Not limited to the above-described manufacturing method, a solution containing a hologram recording material is filled in a die using the
Next, a hologram recording method and recording principle using the
First, light having the information to be recorded (object light) and light having no information (reference light) are irradiated to the same position of the hologram recording material from different angles. When this object light and reference light are irradiated, active species are generated from the photopolymerization initiator at the irradiated site, whereby the fluorine-containing monomer present near the active species starts to polymerize, and the irradiated site contains fluorine. A monomer polymer is formed. In this case, since the fluorine-containing monomer consumed by the polymerization reaction is compensated, movement / diffusion of the fluorine-containing monomer occurs from a peripheral site where the light intensity is weaker to a site where the polymerization reaction occurs. At the same time, the fluorine-modified metal oxide is pushed out from the site where the polymerization reaction occurs with the movement of the fluorine-containing monomer, and moves to the site where the light intensity is weaker.
By such movement / diffusion, the recording material has a high concentration of fluorine-containing monomer polymer corresponding to the intensity of irradiated light and a high concentration of fluorine-modified metal oxide. And a difference in composition occurs between these regions. Here, in the part irradiated with the object light and the reference light, interference fringes are formed by the interference of the two lights. Therefore, the difference in composition between the respective regions corresponds to the intensity of light due to interference fringes. In this case, in the hologram recording material, a difference in refractive index is formed between the regions based on the difference in composition generated corresponding to the intensity of light due to the interference fringes. Thus, the interference fringes are recorded as a difference in refractive index generated in the recording material.
In the
The information recorded on the hologram recording medium in this way is irradiated with the same light as the reference light used for recording, and the irradiated light is diffracted by the hologram. It can be read out by reproducing.
