Abstract
Description
【0001】

BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION
The present invention relates to a disc brake rotor, and more particularly to a floating type disc brake rotor used in a braking device for a motorcycle.
[0002]
[Prior art]
Conventionally, in a disc brake rotor of a motorcycle, the sliding portion of the friction pad is thermally expanded due to heat generated during braking, and distortion such as warpage or undulation occurs in the sliding portion. This distortion induces uneven contact of the friction pad, leading to problems such as uneven wear of the sliding part and reduction of braking force. In order to remedy this drawback, floating type disc brake rotors are generally used recently. Has come to be used.
[0003]
In a conventional floating type disc brake rotor, an inner rotor is fitted in an outer rotor, and both are coupled by caulking pins. This caulking pin absorbs distortion of the outer rotor due to heat generated during braking, so that it is caulked in a floating state via a disc spring and a washer with a clearance between the pin hole and the inner diameter of the pin hole. Yes.
[0004]
However, this caulking pin that connects the outer rotor and the inner rotor is required to have an allowable transmission torque corresponding to the engine output, and at the same time, the relative displacement in the axial direction of both rotors must be restricted. It was necessary to provide a large number of crimping pins on the circumference. Of course, if the engine has high output, it is inevitable to increase the number of caulking pins or increase the size. With such a structure, there is a limit to weight reduction, which hinders vehicle characteristics such as fuel efficiency and steering stability. In this situation, the present applicant has already proposed a disc brake rotor that can be reduced in weight with a simple structure and that has improved the assembly workability by reducing the number of parts.
