Abstract
Description
The present invention relates to a catheter for treating arteriosclerosis with a photosensitive substance and laser light.
In conventional arteriosclerosis treatment using a photosensitive substance and laser light, the balloon catheter for expansion is first moved to the stenosis site through the vascular system, the stenosis site is expanded with the balloon for expansion, and the balloon catheter for expansion is contracted and extracted. After that, a photosensitive substance is administered systemically, a balloon catheter for laser irradiation equipped with an optical fiber is inserted through the vascular system again, and the arteriosclerosis layer is irradiated with laser to damage the stenosis. There are treatments to prevent restenosis. However, in order to administer the photosensitive substance systemically in this treatment method, after administration, the patient had to be isolated for several weeks in an environment where light was blocked. Therefore, a treatment method has been devised in which a photosensitive substance is administered only to the laser irradiation site to reduce the dose and reduce the burden on the patient. For local administration of the photosensitive substance, a general drug delivery catheter (see, for example, Patent Document 1) for administering a drug for the purpose of reducing restenosis after expansion of the stenotic site is used. 12 and 13 show the distal end portion of the conventional drug delivery catheter, 101 is a catheter shaft, 102 is an occlusion balloon, and 103 is an occlusion tube through which a fluid for expanding the
The operation of the drug delivery catheter configured as described above will be described. After the stenosis site is expanded with the dilatation balloon catheter, the dilatation balloon catheter is extracted. The
However, in the conventional drug delivery catheter, when the drug is released, the drug is not effectively administered to the blood vessel wall in order to additionally release the drug into the blood of the blood vessel occluded by the occlusion balloon. Due to the increase in pressure in the occluded blood vessel due to the addition, there is a problem that an excessive pressure is applied to the blood vessel wall.
An object of this invention is to provide the catheter which administers a medicine effectively.

In the present embodiment, the same components as those in the first embodiment are denoted by the same reference numerals, and detailed description thereof is omitted. In FIG. 4, 2e is a distal occlusion balloon, 2f is a proximal occlusion balloon, 3e is a distal occlusion lumen, 3f is a proximal occlusion lumen, 4e is a distal occlusion port, 4f is A proximal-side closing port, 9e is a closing fluid injection port, and 9f is a closing fluid injection port.

As described above, after releasing the drug from the
