Abstract
Description
The present invention relates to a golf club shaft, and more particularly to a golf club shaft suitable for a player who is slow and has a head speed of about 30 m / s.
A conventional golf club will be described with reference to FIG. As shown in FIG. 1, the
In the golf club shaft disclosed in Japanese Patent Laid-Open No. 2002-177423, the head speed as an index is 48 m / s or more for “X shaft”, 43 m / s or more for “S shaft”, and less than 48 m / s. The “R shaft” is 38 m / s or more, less than 43 m / s, and the “L shaft” is less than 38 m / s, which is about the same level as the head speed in the conventional golf club market. It is classified.
Conventionally, these shafts gradually soften the flex (flexibility) of the shaft as the head speed as an index gradually decreases from the “X shaft”. The shaft for the golfer with the slowest head speed is an “L shaft”, and this shaft is suitable for a golfer with a head speed of less than 38 m / s.
As disclosed in Japanese Patent Application Laid-Open No. 2003-168771, a golf shaft having a specific bending stiffness distribution is proposed in order to reduce the variation in hitting points without impairing the flexibility of the golf shaft. (There is no disclosure regarding the torque value).
Generally, a player with a slow head speed selects and uses the L shaft. However, a player who makes a stable golf swing at a head speed of about 30 m / s cannot always expect a stable swing when using this shaft. This is because the speed range is too wide because the head speed of the L-shaft adaptive layer is less than 38 m / s.
Thus, the conventional "L shaft" is a shaft suitable for a golfer having a head speed of about 35 m / s, and a shaft for a golfer having a low head speed of about 30 m / s is provided. There wasn't.
A general female golfer with a head speed of about 35 m / s is an advanced player, and there are many intermediate / beginners or senior golfers who can swing stably at a head speed of about 30 m / s or less.
A golfer with a head speed of about 30 m / s does not have a shaft that can play with the “flexibility”, which is an important performance of the shaft, so the conventional “L shaft” is just a rigid rod. It is felt by.
In order to provide a golfer's shaft having a head speed of about 30 m / s, the head speed applicable to the conventional L shaft is set to 32 m / s to 38 m / s, and a shaft corresponding to a lower head speed (for example, “LL shaft”, less than 32 m / s) may be provided.
In order to make such an LL shaft, the hardness of the shaft must be made softer than the conventional L shaft.
In order to soften the hardness of the shaft made of a laminate of fiber reinforced resin layers, it can be obtained by reducing the number of laminated members or making the used fibers of lower elasticity than before. However, the golf club assembled with the shaft thus obtained has a defect that it is difficult to use because of poor directional stability when hitting a golf ball.
In addition, the softened shaft allows the golfer to check the elasticity (hardness) of the shaft by pressing the club with his / her hand while holding the club at the time of purchase. There was a problem that it was still bent and easily deformed plastically, causing problems such as “always unable to obtain a constant address” or “cannot hit with the same swing”.
Therefore, in a golf club shaft suitable for a slow player, there is a technical problem to be solved in order to provide a golf club shaft that improves the ball hitting direction stability and does not easily undergo plastic deformation in the shaft. The present invention aims to solve this problem.
The present invention has been proposed to achieve the above object, and the invention according to
The above invention limits the minimum value of the bending rigidity of the golf club shaft as described above, and specifies the torque value in the same manner as the range of the hard shaft, so that it has an effect of resisting external force and hardly causing plastic deformation.
The invention of claim 2, wherein the providing a golf club shaft of
In this invention, in addition to the action of the invention of the first aspect, the bending rigidity in the vicinity of the tip portion of the shaft is further increased, so that the stability against the shake at the tip portion is maintained.
As described above, according to the present invention, the minimum value of the bending stiffness at 200 to 500 mm from the shaft tip is 7 to 15 N · m 2 and the torque value is 2.5 to 4.5 °. By doing so, the plastic deformation of the shaft can be suppressed, and the shaft can be made suitable for a player who is slow and has a head speed of about 30 m / s.
Furthermore, by setting the bending rigidity of the tip portion to 15 to 30 N · m 2 , it is possible to obtain a shaft that can be played easily even by an advanced player while suppressing blurring of the tip portion due to hitting.
Hereinafter, the present invention will be described in detail with reference to FIGS. FIG. 1 shows a laminated structure of a golf club shaft according to a first embodiment of the present invention. The
The
A
The prepreg sheet wound around the cored bar is wound with a wrapping sheet and pressurized, heated and cured in a curing furnace, the cored bar is pulled out, the wrapping tape is peeled off, and both ends are cut to the full length, and then polished. Smooth the surface with a machine to get the shaft.
The minimum value of the bending rigidity of the shaft thus obtained is in the range of 200 mm to 500 mm from the tip of the shaft as shown in FIG. 4, and the value is 10 to 15 N · m 2 . Flexural rigidity at the shaft tip 800mm is 20-30 N · m 2. The torque value of the shaft is in the range of 2.5 ° to 4.5 ° as shown in Table 1.
The carbon fiber of the prepreg used for the main angle layer and the straight layer can use a modulus higher than the elastic modulus of 23.5 t widely used in graphite sports goods such as golf club shafts and tennis rackets. .
The fiber angle of the
Thus, plastic deformation after bending the shaft can be suppressed. If the fiber angle of the main angle layer is 45 ° or less, it is difficult to maintain the softness of the entire shaft as compared to the conventional L shaft. If this angle exceeds 70 °, it becomes difficult to suppress plastic deformation.
FIG. 2 shows a laminated structure of golf club shafts according to the second embodiment of the present invention. The difference from the first embodiment is that the
The bending rigidity of the shaft thus obtained is reduced by 2 to 4 N · m 2 over the entire length of the shaft. The torque value of the shaft is in the range of 2.5 ° to 4.5 ° as shown in Table 1.
By bringing a prepreg layer having a fiber angle of 0 ° to the innermost layer of the shaft, a soft shaft for a less powerful golfer can be obtained while maintaining the torque value in the first embodiment. It is also possible to make a soft shaft by sandwiching the
FIG. 3 shows a laminated structure of golf club shafts according to the third embodiment of the present invention. The difference from the first embodiment is that the
Flexural rigidity at 50mm~150mm from the tip portion of the shaft thus obtained is 15 to 30 N · m 2 as shown in FIG. By increasing the bending rigidity of the shaft tip, a more stable feel can be obtained with a soft shaft.
Since the present invention is intended for a player with less power and a head speed of about 30 m / s, the golf club needs to be lightweight and have a low swing balance. For this reason, the weight of the shaft is set to 70 g or less.
Table 2 shows the torque values of commercially available series shafts. The torque value of the commercially available shaft is 2.5 ° to 5.0 ° for the X shaft, and about 5.5 ° to 7.5 ° for the L shaft. In the conventional shaft, it is appropriate to increase the torque value as the head speed of the target golfer decreases from 48 m / s or more to less than 38 m / s (that is, from the X shaft to the L shaft). It had been.
The shaft realized in the first to third embodiments of the present invention is a shaft softer than the conventional L shaft, but the torque value is set to a low level equivalent to or lower than that of the conventional X shaft. This is because a prepreg using a reinforcing fiber having a medium elastic modulus of 23.5 t or more is used for an angle layer (a layer in which the fiber is inclined at a desired angle and disposed on the reinforcing layer), and the fiber angle exceeds 45 °. Although it can be obtained by setting it to a large angle, it can simultaneously prevent plastic deformation of the shaft.
EI(N・m2)=32.7/δ
The measuring method of each characteristic value of the present invention is as follows.
(Bending rigidity)
As for the bending rigidity, a three-point bending test with a span of 200 mm is performed as shown in FIG.
The bending rate EI is determined by measuring the shaft deflection amount δ (mm) when the descent speed of the indenter (R10) is 5 mm / min and the load load is 200 N.
EI (N · m 2 ) = 32.7 / δ
(Torque value)
As shown in FIG. 6, the torque value is obtained when the base side is fixedly held by a chuck from a position of 970 mm from the shaft tip, and a torque of 1.35 N · m (1 pounds (lbs) · ft) is applied to the tip. The torsion angle at the tip was taken as the torque value.
(Plastic deformation)
As shown in FIG. 7, a
(Swing balance)
As shown in FIG. 9, the swing balance (SW) = m × (L-35.6) is obtained from the distance L (cm) from the grip end of the club to the balance position and the weight m (g), and a conversion table is obtained from this value. The balance designation (C6, D3) was obtained by the above. In the conversion table, C0 = 14113.8 to D9 = 16508.1 g · cm correspond linearly.
