[0005]
DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION
Hereinafter, embodiments of the present invention will be described in detail with reference to the drawings.
FIG. 1 is a block diagram showing a functional configuration of a voice guidance device showing an embodiment of the present invention. In the figure, a status acquisition unit 1 is for acquiring status information according to the processing status and internal state of the device. Status refers to events that occur in devices such as “paper discharge completed”, “no paper”, “paper jam”, “forgetting to remove original” in an image forming apparatus such as a copying machine, and further controls image formation. Although there are detailed events such as “exposure”, “static elimination”, and “fixing”, the status handled in the present invention is mainly an event that the user should deal with directly. The status is acquired as a status ID using a name or symbol from the office device body via a bus or a dedicated interface.
The voice message control unit 2 reads an appropriate message from the voice message DB 6 according to the device status ID obtained by the status acquisition unit 1 and sends it to the message data processing unit 3.
The message data processing unit 3 reads a filter coefficient corresponding to the position of a specific part of the device from the localization position control parameter DB 7 in accordance with the device status ID obtained by the status acquisition unit 1, and applies to the left and right channel data of the audio data This is for controlling the localization position of the voice message by performing the filtering process. It should be noted that since there is no filter coefficient in the localization position control parameter DB 7 for a message that does not need to indicate a position, such as “End of warm-up”, a voice message localized in the center is output as a result. .
[0006]
The audio reproduction device 4 is a reproduction apparatus including a D / A converter, a power amplifier, and a volume for reproducing audio data received from the message data processing unit 3 in stereo. In order to reliably transmit stereo audio data to the user, the headphones 5 are used, but two left and right speakers may be used. The connection between this apparatus and the headphones may be wired using a cord and a jack, but it is not troublesome to use radio waves such as AM or FM modulated radio waves or Bluetooth.
The voice message DB 6 is a storage device that stores voice message data (monaural data) corresponding to the operation status and internal state of the device. In addition, the localization position control parameter DB 7 is provided at each location on the device that needs to be presented to the user, such as the position of the discharge tray of the device, the position of the paper feed tray, and the position where a paper jam may occur. It is a storage device that stores filter coefficients for left and right channels for localizing voice message data. The localization position control of the sound image in the sound field is performed by filtering a normal monaural sound recording sound according to the position information and adjusting the volume, phase, and frequency characteristics.
[0007]
Next, the operation of the voice guidance device configured as described above will be described in detail with reference to the drawings. FIG. 2 is a flowchart showing the flow of processing of the voice guidance device of the present invention.
First, the voice message control unit 2 monitors the device status ID obtained by the status acquisition unit 1 (step S201), and determines whether or not the voice message needs to be reproduced (step S202). This determination is performed by examining whether or not a voice message corresponding to the status ID exists in the voice message DB 6. If it is determined that the voice message needs to be reproduced, the data is read from the voice message DB 6 into the memory (step S203) and transferred to the message data processing unit 3 together with the status ID.
The message data processing unit 3 determines from the status ID whether it is necessary to control the localization position of the voice message (step S204). This determination is made by examining whether or not the filter coefficient corresponding to the status ID exists in the localization position control parameter DB 7.
[0008]
If it is determined that it is not necessary to control the localization position (No in step S204), pseudo stereo data obtained by copying the voice message data (monaural) to the left and right channels is created and played back from the headphones through the voice playback device 4. (Step S206). In this case, since the data of the left channel and the right channel of the stereo data to be reproduced is exactly the same, the message can be heard localized at the center. The message is repeatedly output for a predetermined time (for example, about 10 seconds) or a predetermined number of times (for example, about 5 times).
On the other hand, if it is determined that the localization position needs to be controlled (Yes in step S204), after the voice message data (monaural) is copied to the left and right channels, the localization position control is performed on the data of the left and right channels. Filtering processing is performed using the filter coefficients for each channel read from the parameter DB 7 (step S205). Then, the voice message data subjected to the filtering process is reproduced from the headphones through the voice reproduction device 4 (step S206). The filtering process can be realized by specifying the position of the sound source by using, for example, the 3D sound processing function of DirectX (registered trademark), which is software provided by Microsoft Corporation. A method of using a head-related transfer function measured using a dummy head is widely known when obtaining a filter coefficient independently.
[0009]
Next, an example in which the voice guidance device of the present invention is applied to office equipment will be shown. FIG. 3 is a diagram showing an example in which the voice guidance device of the present invention is incorporated in an image forming apparatus.
In this example, a document is copied by an image forming apparatus having three discharge trays, and the result is discharged to the “tray 1” on the upper left side. The voice guidance device according to the present invention is incorporated in the image forming apparatus, and the operator who wears the headphones 5 can hear the message from the left direction and the tray 1 is in that direction. For a visually impaired user, in the case of a message that does not have a sound image localized, the user can only know that the message has been discharged to the tray 1 and be confused about where the tray 1 is.
FIG. 4 is a block diagram showing a functional configuration of a voice guidance device showing another embodiment of the present invention. Compared to the previous embodiment (FIG. 1), this is simplified. Also, blocks having the same functions are denoted by the same symbols as in FIG. In this embodiment, the audio message DB 6a stores stereo audio data subjected to sound image localization position control instead of monaural. Therefore, the localization data control parameter DB 7 and the message data processing unit 3 that performs the filtering process are not necessary, and the audio reproduction device 4 may reproduce the stereo audio message read from the audio message DB 6 a by the audio message control unit 2 a as it is.
Voice message data is placed in an anechoic room, etc., with a sound source and a dummy head placed in a predetermined position, and the right and left volume, phase difference, etc. are faithfully used using a microphone with the message sound emitted from the sound source attached to the dummy head. Recorded digital audio (stereo) may be used.
In this case, it takes time and effort to record voice message data, and the amount of data is doubled compared to monaural data, but the control is greatly simplified.
[0010]
【The invention's effect】
As described above, according to claims 1 to 4 of the present invention, a specific location on an office device can be presented intuitively.
According to the fifth aspect of the present invention, when a paper jam occurs in the office device, a voice message for localization is output to the position where the paper jam occurs, so that the position of the place where the jammed paper needs to be removed is intuitively determined. Can be presented.
According to the sixth aspect of the present invention, when the printing is completed, a voice message is output so as to be localized in the direction of the tray in which the paper is actually discharged. Can be presented.
According to the seventh aspect of the present invention, when a paper shortage occurs, a voice message for localization to the position of the paper feed tray where the paper has actually run out is output. Can be presented.
