BACKGROUND The present invention relates to a geothermal power generation system, and in particular, to an improved geothermal power generation system that does not use water in a high-temperature rock formation but uses water from an external resource and enables recycling. It is about the system. Geothermal power systems have been in use for many years. A typical system is constructed by drilling a well in a hot rock formation containing hot water. If the formation is dry and hot, water may be pumped into the wells and into the hot rock formations. The hot rock formation heats the pumped water until it contains hot water or reaches temperatures and pressures above those required to form steam. Hot water is drawn from the stream or pumped from the well, and when the pressure is released, the hot water and steam are separated and the steam is used to operate a turbine that drives a generator or other mechanical device. Generators are connected to a power grid that transmits power to the point of use, or power is used on site. Groundwater may require treatment before being returned to the hot rock formation. In current geothermal power systems, it has been found that natural water or water pumped into hot rock formations is highly contaminated. Water is usually rich in solids and may contain scales and corrosive chemicals that require treatment before being returned to the hot rock formation. After the steam has been used to turn the turbine and condensed into water, the resulting water is contaminated and returned to the hot rock formation before proceeding to the reservoir through the pipes Before, it needs processing.
[0002]
It should be noted that using a single well where water is pumped in and steam is removed by the pump limits the location of the power generation turbine as well as the multiple wells themselves. This is because if one well receives water, pumps steam and returns water to the formation, all must be located close to each other. In addition, the use of a single well also limits the residence time, which reduces the efficiency of the system by accumulating water in the hot rock formation.
[0003]
PROBLEM The present invention overcomes these difficulties, and the water obtained from the hot rock formations is not polluted and therefore recyclable, and has a greater chemistry than standard boiler water treatment. It is an object to provide an improved geothermal power generation system that does not require treatment and is economical in the amount of water used. Another object of the present invention is that the steam-driven turbine, which drives the generators and other mechanical equipment, does not need to be located close to the return well used to receive water into the ground. It is an object of the present invention to provide an improved geothermal power generation system that can be located at a place away from a well. It is another object of the present invention to provide an improved geothermal power generation system that is more efficient. It is another object of the present invention to provide an improved geothermal power generation system that can be easily installed because wells can be drilled using well horizontal drilling techniques commonly practiced in the petroleum industry. This improved geothermal power generation system is simple to use. It is another object of the invention that the system be maintained without draining the formation so that the pressure in the formation is maintained. Other and further objects will become apparent by an understanding of the following description and illustrated forms, or various advantages not set forth in the claims or referred to herein may be realized by practicing the invention. It can be conceived by those skilled in the art.
[0004]
DETAILED DESCRIPTION Referring to FIG. 1, a geothermal power generation system according to the present invention includes an input well pit (reduction) that has sunk into the ground 2 through the surface 3 until it hits the hot rock layer 4 in the ground 2. 1). An output well (steam well) 5 is also formed at a location remote from the input well (reduction well) 1 and extends through the surface 3 to the hot rock formation. As the well approaches the hot rock formation, the well bends from vertical to horizontal 6 and is pierced through the hot rock formation 4, and when the appropriate distance to heat the water is reached, the well well bends vertically, Drilled until it reaches the surface. Thus, the input well 1, the horizontal well 6, and the output well 5 form a continuous path from the surface to the hot rock formations, penetrate the lying material and pass through the output well 5 to the surface. In the drawing, the well shaft 6 is shown horizontally. However, the horizontal well 6 may be in a different direction if desired. As shown, one or more horizontal wells can be drilled from one vertical well. The power generation turbine assembly 10 or other mechanical device operated by the steam so that the steam exiting the output well 5 operates the power generation turbine assembly 10 or similar mechanical device to generate electric power or perform other functions. Are located near and connected to the steam well 5.
[0005]
With this system, clean water is pumped into the input well 1, released at the water discharge point 12, travels through the well 6 in the hot rock formation, where it is converted to steam and passes through the output well 5. And removed from the ground to operate the power turbine assembly 10 and other machinery. The steam is condensed in the condenser 13 and returned to water, and the water is then stored in the water storage tank 14 and purified in the plant (water purification step) 15. Is returned to. However, contamination of the water or steam adversely affects the operation of the power generation turbine assembly, making recycling impossible. Thus, the water goes through the water purification step 15 every cycle to maintain its purity.
[0006]
To prevent water vapor / water from being contaminated when passing through the horizontal well 6 in the hot rock layer 4, the well 6 is made of a material that resists corrosion 7 so that the water / water does not come into contact with the hot rock layer 4. It is lined or made from the material. Wells 1, 5 and horizontal well 6 may be cemented in place according to standard oil and water well practices. Thus, the water / steam remains clean and recyclable even after the power generation turbine assembly is running, and no water is wasted. To further prevent water / steam contamination, the input well 1 and the output well 5 are preferably lined with non-corrosive casings 8, 9, respectively, which are preferably cemented in place. Therefore, the water does not come into contact with the underground rock 2 when it enters the input well 1 and is not contaminated, and does not come into contact with the underground rock 2 when water comes out of the output well 5. So there is no contamination. Water / steam is clean and recyclable without the risk of contamination. Thus, the system according to the present invention is water saving, since there is no need to discard water and the expensive treatment that would be required if contaminated groundwater circulates through the system. It should also be noted that the invention allows the output well 5 to be located at a distance from the input well 1. The output well 5 can be constructed near the power generation turbine assembly 10. If for some reason the input well 1 cannot be located near the power turbine assembly 10, it can be drilled away from the input well 1. The horizontal well 6 may be of a predetermined length, provided that the horizontal well 6 is mostly located in the hot rock formation, which adversely affects the efficiency and operation of the system according to the invention. It is sufficient if the length is at least sufficient to heat water into steam.
[0007]
As will be appreciated, the present invention is directed to a system wherein the water entering the hot rock formation is uncontaminated so that it can be recycled, and the steam-powered turbine or other machinery receives the water underground. It is an object of the present invention to provide an improved geothermal power generation system that does not need to be located near the input well used. The improved geothermal power system is more efficient, less wasteful of water, easier to install and easier to use.
[0008]
A variant of the system is shown in FIG. All elements of the system shown in FIG. 1 are present. The same result is achieved with one vertical well and one or more horizontal wells. The water is returned to a horizontal distance well with a tube extending into the casing and is discharged at the end of the casing. The water flows back through one well and is converted to steam and carried to the turbine.
[0009]
In another embodiment, the purified water is discharged from the hot water outlet or distributed over all or a part of the hot water branch well.
[0010]
In the figure, it is understood that there is one or more hot water branch wells. All the hot wells operate simultaneously, or one after another, with another hot well heated until another hot well is prepared, and so on. Used to work in a typical way.
[0011]
In the figure, the hot-water branch well is shown horizontally, but may be inclined upward or downward. The slope may be varied to improve the location in the hot rock formation.
[0012]
Hot water well wells may rarely need to be cleaned. If necessary, the injection pipe is removed and the cleaning mechanism works in or through the line. This frees them from unwanted substances, usually descaling. The debris is removed from the pipe, and when the washing is completed, the injection pipe is returned to its original position.
[0013]
While many variations and modifications of the subject matter of this invention will become apparent to those skilled in the art from the foregoing specification, it will be understood that the invention is summarized in the appended claims.
