本発明は鉄道車両のサニタリーエリア構造に係り、特に、単なるトイレ、流し、の機能に止まらず、一般建築物における化粧室、さらには、更衣室の機能をも備えたサニタリーエリアの構造に関する。

【従来の技術】
従来、鉄道車両のサニタリーエリア（少なくともトイレおよび手洗い用の流しを備えた領域）の構造として、非特許文献１、あるいは２に記載されたものが知れられている。

これらのサニタリーエリアにあっては、鉄道車両に設けられるという性格上、車両を進行方向に貫通する通路を確保し、しかもこの通路には、できるだけ車両内を通行する乗客等の移動の動線をスムーズに確保できることが望ましい。

【発明が解決しようとする課題】
しかしながら、鉄道車両の限られたスペースにて上記通路に必要な領域を確保しようとすると、サニタリーエリアに本来必要とされる機能が損なわれる傾向がある。
すなわち、トイレとして利用される個室のスペースには限りがあり、また、通路と個室とがドア１枚で遮られているだけであるから、外部との隔離性が不十分である。また、一般建築物の化粧室は、化粧、洗面、更衣など多様な用途に用いられるが、鉄道車両に設けられるトイレ用個室の限られたスペースでは、一般建築の化粧室に求められる多様な機能を果たすことが難しい。

本発明は上記の事情に鑑みてなされたもので、鉄道車両内の限られたスペースにて、快適かつ多目的に利用できるサニタリースエリアを提供することを目的とする。

【課題を解決するための手段】
上記目的を達成するため、本発明は、中間隔壁により、鉄道車両内部の空間を進行方向に沿って客席スペースとサニタリーエリアとに区画してなる鉄道車両に設けられるものであって、前記中間隔壁に対して平行な平面壁と前記鉄道車両の一方の側壁とこれら平面壁および側壁の端部を結ぶ円筒面状の第一の曲面壁とを有する第一室と、前記鉄道車両の他方の側壁と前記鉄道車両の進行方向端部の端部隔壁とこれら他方の側壁と前記端部隔壁とを結ぶ円筒面状の第二の曲面壁とを有する第二室と備え、前記第一の曲面壁と第二の曲面壁との間には、通路に相当する間隔が設けられ、前記第一室の内部には、便器が備えられた個室が設けられ、前記第二室には、小便器が設けられたことを特徴とする。
また、前記隔壁は、車両内部の座席間に設けられた通路に対応する位置に開口を有する中央隔壁と、該中央隔壁の一端に連なる第一隔壁と、前記中央隔壁の他端に連なる第二隔壁とから構成され、前記平面壁は、前記第一隔壁と中央隔壁とにほぼ重なる位置に設けられ、前記端部隔壁は、前記第二隔壁とほぼ重なる位置に設けられたことを特徴とする。

【発明の実施の形態】
図１〜図３は本発明の一実施形態を示すものである。符号１は車両であって、この車両１の内部空間は、中間隔壁２によって区画されている。前記中間隔壁２は、前記内部空間を座席スペース３とサニタリーエリア４とに区画している。前記座席スペース３には、３列座席５と、２列座席６とが通路７を挟んで配置されている。前記中間隔壁２における、３列座席５の幅に対応する部分を第一隔壁２ａ、２列座席６の幅に対応する部分（第一隔壁より狭い部分）を第二隔壁２ｂ、通路７の幅に対応する部分を中央隔壁２ｃと称することとする。

前記サニタリーエリア４には、第一室８と、第２室９とが通路１０を挟んで設けられている。なお、通路１０には、車両１の左右の乗降扉１ａまたは１ｂからも出入りできるようになっている。
前記第一室８は、平面壁１１と、曲面壁１２と、車両１の側壁１３と、曲面壁１２と側壁１３とを結ぶ屈曲壁１４とによって囲まれている。前記平面壁１１は、中間隔壁２との間に通路に相当する間隔を空けて設けられ、その長さは、ほぼ前記第一隔壁２ａと中央隔壁２ｃとの和に相当する大きさに設定されている。
前記曲面壁１２には、同一曲率半径の引き戸１５が設けられ、この引き戸１５を曲面壁１２内に引き込むことによって、前記第一室８内への出入り口が生じるようになっている。

前記第一室８内には、パウダーエリア２１、フィッティングエリア２２，個室トイレエリア２３，洗面台エリア２４の４つの領域が設けられている。
前記パウダーエリア２１の壁面には、鏡２５が設けられている。

前記個室トイレエリア２３は、円筒面状の引き戸３０をスライドさせることにより、第一室８内との間が開閉されるようになっており、内部には、腰掛式便器３１、ベビーチェア３２など、トイレとして必要な設備が設けられている。前記腰掛式便器３１の側部には、手摺り３３が縦方向へ向けて設けられており、この手摺り３３は、下部にて一部が外方に突出するように、曲げられている。また、前記室トイレエリア２３に面した前記屈曲壁１４には、棚板３４が蝶番を介して回動自在に設けられている。すなわち、この棚板３４は、基端部を壁側の蝶番によって支持させ、先端部を前記手摺り３３の突出部に載せることにより、ほぼ水平に支持されて、おむつ交換台として利用できるようになっている。また前記引き戸３０の収納スペース（収納状態の引き戸を図１に鎖線で示す）と後述する手洗いエリアとの間には、トイレットペーパなどを収容するための収納棚３５が設けられている。

前記洗面台エリア２４は、前記屈曲壁１４における突出部４１内（この実施形態では曲面壁１２の外方を突出方向と称することにする）に洗面台４２を設けたもので、前記突出部４１内の壁面を利用して、化粧台としての棚４３が支持されている。
前記突出部４１を設けることにより前記屈曲壁１４の外部に生じた凹部５１には、手洗器５２が設けられていて、共用の手洗いエリアとして利用されている凹部５１の内面における、通路１０と正対しない壁面には鏡５３が設けられている。

前記手洗いエリアと側壁１３との間には、共用トイレエリア６１が設けられている。この共用トイレエリア６１は、前記第一室８内のトイレエリア２３と同様に、引き戸６２によって開閉されるようになっている。共用トイレエリア６１内には、便器３１のような、トイレに必要な機器の他、幼児を座らせて置くことのできるベビーシート６３が設けられている。また、この共用トイレエリア６１内に設けられた便器３１は、仕切となる屈曲壁１４を挟んで、前記トイレエリア２３内の便器３１と反対の向き（背中合わせ）となるように配置されているため、これら二つの便器３１の水回り配管の短縮化を図ることができる。

前記第二室９は男子用トイレエリアとして使用されるもので、曲面壁７１と、車両１の側壁１３と、車両１の端部壁８０（より正確には、車両端部の壁の内、通路を中心とした一方の側の壁、中間隔壁における第二隔壁に相当する幅の部分）とによって囲まれた空間となっている。曲面壁７１には、同一の曲率半径の引き戸７２が設けられ、曲面壁７１内に引き込まれあるいは引き出されることによって第二室９を開閉するようになっている。第二室９の内部には、男子用トイレに必要とされる、小便器７３，手洗器７４が設けられている。

以上のように構成された鉄道車両のサニタリーエリアの作用をその使用方法とともに説明する。
座席スペース３からサニタリーエリア４へ進入すると、正面に平面壁１１が見えることになり、サニタリーエリア４内の通路１０へ出入りする利用者と直接視線を合わせることがない。
次いで、通路１０に入ると、この通路が曲面壁１２と曲面壁７１との間に存在しているため、サニタリーエリア４に対して、閉塞感のない、好印象を与えることができる。また、サニタリーエリア４の両側にウインドー部７５とウインドー部７７とが設けられていて、利用者からあたかも光の柱の如く視認されることになるので、サニタリーエリア４に清潔な印象を与えることができる。

パウダーエリア２２にあっては、鏡２５が、引き戸１５と正対しない向きに設けられているので、引き戸１５が開けられた場合にも、通路１０を通行する乗客とパウダーエリア２２の利用者とが視線を合わせる確率が低くなる。
フィッティングエリア２２は、通常は、ロールアップカーテン２６が巻き上げられているので、内部の鏡２７、２８を利用して、パウダーエリアとしても利用することができる。
また、更衣などの場合には、ロールアップカーテン２６を引き下げれば良い。この際、折り畳み板２９を引き出して床上に置けば、靴を脱いで更衣をすることができる。この折り畳み板２９は、通常は壁内に収納されているので、泥などが付着することがない。また、一部が切り欠かれているので、折り畳み板２９の上に載る際に脱いだ靴を置くスペースが確保される。

【発明の効果】
以上説明したように、本発明によれば、平面壁によって比較的大きなスペースを第一室内に確保することができるとともに、この第一室の輪郭をなす第一の曲面壁と、第二室の輪郭をなす第二の曲面壁との間に通路を配置したので、サニタリー用に大きなスペースを確保しつつ、スムーズな動線の通路を確保することができる。また、通路から引き戸を介して隔離された第一室内に種々の機能を設けたので、特に女性用化粧室として好適に利用されて、通常の建築物における化粧室と同様の用途に用いることができる他、壁内に収納できる折り畳み板や棚板を利用して、更衣室あるいはおむつ交換の場としても利用することができる。
さらに、車両の端部壁の一部を利用して第二室を区画したので、この第二室を比較的小スペースしか要しない男性用小便所として利用することにより、男性用、女性用とが区分された使用感の良いサニタリースペースを鉄道車両内の限定されたスペース内で実現することができる。
