Abstract
Description
【0001】

[Industrial applications]
The present invention relates to an image forming apparatus that prevents transfer paper from being wound around a heating roller or the like when outputting an image with a high printing rate such as a photograph or an illustration.
[0002]
[Prior art]
For images printed by image forming devices such as digital multifunction peripherals and laser printers, low print ratio images with many blank areas on the transfer paper, such as text and graphs, and images across the entire transfer paper, such as photographs and illustrations, are formed. There are two types of high print rate images. Since a general image forming apparatus heats toner on transfer paper, there is a problem in that when an image having a high printing rate is fixed on thin paper having a low basis weight, the transfer paper is wound around a heating roller. there were. Particularly, in an image forming apparatus capable of printing a color image, there are many opportunities to print an image with a high printing ratio, and winding around a heating roller is a serious problem. Therefore, in the conventional image forming apparatus, the above-mentioned problem has been solved by setting a limit on the basis weight of the transfer paper that can be used and making it impossible to use thin paper having a small basis weight.
[0003]
In addition, when the printing ratio for a certain period of time from a leading writing position is equal to or more than a predetermined value, a large writing margin is provided to prevent thin paper having a low basis weight from being wound around a heating roller (for example, see Patent Reference 1).

[0005]
[Problems to be solved by the invention]
However, an image forming apparatus in which the basis weight of transfer paper that can be used is limited is inconvenient because thin paper cannot be used, even if the image has a low printing rate and there is no fear of winding around the heating roller. Further, in the case of Patent Literature 1, there is a problem that a margin larger than a margin desired by a user is obtained, and a desired result may not be obtained.
[0006]
Therefore, the present invention provides an image forming apparatus which can cope with various paper types and basis weights by providing printing restrictions on paper types and basis weights only in the case of a high printing rate, and which does not cause fixing winding. With the goal.
[0007]
[Means for Solving the Problems]
In order to achieve the above object, the present invention provides image information storage means for storing image data, print rate calculation means for calculating a print rate from image data stored in the image information storage means, An operation unit for inputting a basis weight, and image formation availability determination means for determining whether image formation is possible based on the printing rate and the basis weight input from the operation unit.
[0008]
Further, the image forming availability determination unit may be configured to display a warning when it is determined that the image cannot be formed, or the operation unit may warn the operation unit when an input value is less than a predetermined value. Or the image forming apparatus has a plurality of paper feed trays for accommodating transfer paper, and the image formation availability determination means has paper quality data of each paper feed tray, and the designated paper feed tray When it is determined that the image cannot be formed on the transfer paper in the image forming apparatus, the image forming apparatus may be configured to switch to another paper feed tray capable of forming an image, or may have an operation unit for inputting a paper type of the transfer paper. The image forming apparatus may be configured to include a paper type / basis weight conversion table for calculating the basis weight of the corresponding transfer paper from the input paper type, or the image forming apparatus may determine in advance the paper type for which image formation is prohibited when the printing rate is equal to or more than a predetermined value. High print rate mark to remember It has prohibited paper type storage unit, the image forming determination means may be a determining configure whether or not the selected sheet type is stored in a high printing rate print inhibition paper type storage unit.
[0009]
[Action]
The image data sent from the document reading device or the like is stored in the image information storage unit, and the print ratio is calculated from the stored image data by the print ratio calculation unit. The image formation possibility determination unit receives the basis weight of the transfer paper from the operation unit and the printing ratio from the printing ratio calculation unit, and when the printing ratio is equal to or more than a predetermined value and the basis weight is less than the predetermined value, the heating roller It is determined that there is a risk of wrapping around, and the image forming operation is stopped. By doing so, winding around the heating roller can be prevented, and it is possible to cope with various paper types and basis weights.
[0010]
The basis weight of the transfer paper stored in the plurality of paper feed trays is stored in advance, and the image forming possibility determination unit determines that there is a risk of winding around the heating roller. If there is a paper feed tray that contains transfer papers that are not likely to be, switching is automatically made to use transfer papers that have no risk of winding. By doing so, it is not necessary to stop the image forming operation.
