[Problems to be solved by the invention]
In a device using UV ink, in a normal use environment in a room, the device may be covered with a cover, and the ink of the recording head with the nozzle facing down hardly hardens. However, as shown in FIG. 5, in a device in which the ultraviolet irradiation devices 10 and 12 are provided beside the head unit 6 with a built-in recording head, the primary reflected light of the ultraviolet light is changed at the head moving direction changing position or the home position. There is a possibility that the ink in the recording head may enter the nozzles of the recording head of the head unit 6 and solidify. In the range of the normal printing area, the platen 14 is located under the UV lamps of the ultraviolet irradiation devices 10 and 12, and the primary reflected light 5 from the ultraviolet irradiation device hardly goes to the nozzle of the recording head. When the head 6 is located at the home position where the cleaning box 20 is located or the head moving direction changing position on the opposite side, there is nothing near under the UV lamps of the ultraviolet irradiation devices 10 and 12, and therefore, from the base 4 of the device. However, the primary reflected lights 5 and 5 from the ultraviolet irradiation device may hit the ink in the recording head and clog the recording head.
An object of the present invention is to solve the above problems.
[0005]
[Means for Solving the Problems]
In order to achieve the above object, the present invention provides a home position and a home position which deviate from a printing area on a platen with a head unit provided with an ultraviolet irradiation device for irradiating ultraviolet rays to ink droplets immediately after printing. In an ink jet recording apparatus capable of moving to the opposite head moving direction changing position, the home position and the head moving direction changing position are respectively close to the lower side of the irradiation port of the ultraviolet irradiation device in the respective areas. In this manner, a plate member for preventing reflection of ultraviolet rays on the recording head is provided.
Further, according to the present invention, the height of the plate is set to be substantially the same as the height of the platen.
Further, in the present invention, the surface of the plate member facing the irradiation port of the ultraviolet irradiation device is made a dark color such as black.
Further, in the present invention, a mounting plate is provided so as to be able to move up and down adjacent to the plate material in a movement path of the ultraviolet irradiation device, and an illuminometer can be placed on the mounting plate.
[0006]

Hereinafter, the configuration of the present invention will be described in detail with reference to the accompanying drawings.
In FIG. 1, reference numeral 2 denotes a Y rail of a large-sized ink jet printer, which is installed on a base 4 via a support member. Reference numeral 6 denotes a head unit having a built-in recording head, which is reciprocally connected to the Y rail 2. The head unit 6 has a plurality of built-in ink jet recording heads, and the ink ejection nozzles of each recording head are arranged on the same surface in the opening at the bottom of the head unit 6. On both sides of the head unit 6 in the Y-axis direction, ultraviolet irradiation devices 10 and 12 provided with UV lamps (ultraviolet lamps) are provided. Reference numeral 14 denotes a platen, which has a vacuum function for attaching a plate-shaped printing medium 16 such as a printed circuit board to a mounting surface extending in a direction perpendicular to the paper surface.
[0007]
The platen 14 is movably supported on an X-rail (not shown) fixed to the base 4 horizontally to the floor surface and extending in a direction perpendicular to the paper surface. The platen 14 and the head unit 6 are linked to an XY driving device controlled by a controller. FIG. 1 shows a state in which the head unit 6 has moved to a home position 22 that is out of a print area on the platen 14, that is, a head standby position.
[0008]
In FIG. 1, a cleaning box 20 supported by a lifting mechanism 18 so as to be able to move up and down is arranged below the head unit 6 at a head standby position 22. A tube 44 is vertically connected to an outlet at the bottom of the washing box 20. Reference numeral 46 denotes a waste liquid tank disposed on the base 4, and the tube 44 is slidably fitted in a hole formed in the upper lid. Reference numeral 7 denotes a plate member disposed adjacent to the platen 14 at the head moving direction changing position 8, and is supported on the base 4 at the same height as the platen 14 by the leg stand 9. As shown in FIG. 2, the plate member 7 is arranged so as to be located close to the lower side of the ultraviolet irradiation devices 10 and 12 when the head unit 6 has moved to the head moving direction changing position 8. .
[0009]
Reference numerals 11 and 13 denote plate members arranged on both sides of the cleaning box 20 in the Y-axis direction. The plate members are supported on the base 4 by leg bases 15 and 17 so as to be at the same height as the platen 14. The plate members 11 and 13 are arranged so as to be located close to the lower side of the ultraviolet irradiation devices 10 and 12 when the head unit 6 moves to the home position 22. The upper surfaces of the plate members 7, 11, and 13 are dark colors such as black to absorb ultraviolet rays and reduce the amount of reflection. Reference numerals 24 and 26 denote mounting plates on which the illuminometer 28 is placed. The mounting plates 24 and 26 are supported by the leg stands 9 and 15 so as to be able to move up and down between the same height as the platen 14 and the illuminometer mounting position one step lower than that. Have been. The upper surfaces of the placing plates 24 and 26 are colored in a dark color such as black, and the upper surfaces are disposed between both sides of the platen 14 in the Y-axis direction and the plate members 7 and 11.
[0010]
Next, the operation of the present embodiment will be described.
First, a plate-shaped printing medium 16 such as a printed board is set on the platen 14. When the printing operation starts, the head unit 6 is reciprocated in the main scanning direction in the printing area along the Y rail 2 under the control of the controller. On the other hand, the platen 14 is driven in the sub-scanning direction along the X rail. At this time, an ultraviolet curable ink droplet is ejected from the recording head, printing is performed on the print medium 16 on the platen 14, and the ink droplet of the print portion immediately after printing on the print medium 16 and the previous print line are irradiated with ultraviolet light. Ultraviolet rays are irradiated by the UV lamps of the devices 10 and 12, and the dots are hardened immediately after printing. When the head section 6 moves to the head moving direction changing position 8 outside the printing area, the irradiation ports of the ultraviolet irradiation devices 10 and 12 face and approach the upper surface of the plate 7. As a result, the ultraviolet rays radiated from the irradiation ports of the ultraviolet irradiation devices 10 and 12 hit the upper surface of the plate member 7 and the primary reflected light hits near the irradiation ports. Therefore, the primary reflected light of the ultraviolet light does not reach the nozzle of the recording head.
[0011]
When a large amount of cleaning liquid is ejected from the recording head to wash the nozzles of the sub-tank and the recording head mounted on the head unit 6, ink is pushed out from the sub-tank to the recording head, and ink is ejected from the recording head for recording. When cleaning the head, or when the recording head returns to the home position side, the head unit 6 moves along the Y rail 2 toward the home position, just above the cleaning box 20. When the head unit 6 moves directly above the cleaning box 20, the irradiation ports of the ultraviolet irradiation devices 10 and 12 face the upper surfaces of the plate members 11 and 13, and the primary reflected light of the ultraviolet light enters the nozzles of the recording head. There is no. Also, when the ultraviolet irradiation device 12 passes above the cleaning box 20, the irradiation port of the ultraviolet irradiation device 12 is in close proximity to the inner bottom surface 20a of the cleaning box 20. Light does not reach the bottom surface where the nozzles of the recording head open.
[0012]
When the head unit 6 is located at the head standby position 22 immediately above the cleaning box 20, the upper surfaces of the plate members 11 and 13 are positioned below the ultraviolet irradiation devices 10 and 12, respectively. The presence of the plate members 11 and 13 in the vicinity of the recording heads prevents the worker from putting his / her hand under the hot UV irradiators 10 and 12 during maintenance work at the head standby position of the recording head. Has become. This prevents an accident in which the worker accidentally puts his hand under the ultraviolet irradiation devices 10 and 12 and comes into contact with the high-temperature irradiation port. When measuring the amount of ultraviolet light when the head unit 6 is moving at the time of maintenance of the apparatus, the mounting plates 24 and 26 are lowered by one step, and the illuminance is further increased as shown in FIG. The total 28, 28 is placed and measurement is performed. As described above, in the present embodiment, it is safe to perform a work by putting a hand under the head unit 6 at the home position, and to place the illuminometer 28 when measuring with the illuminometer 28. It has the effect of not being troubled.
[0013]
【The invention's effect】
Since the present invention is configured as described above, it is possible to prevent the reflected light of the ultraviolet light radiated from the ultraviolet irradiating device from hitting the ink in the head portion and solidifying the ink to block the ink passage in the head portion.
