Abstract
Description
【0001】

分割画像領域2における中間比率M2i(=分割画像領域3における中間比率M3i)はA×H2i/(Ho/2−H1o)で表すことができる。
【0037】
変数Rest=Rest−1とする。
【0042】
Mny={(Mni−Mns)×2/Hno}×Xni+Mns

TECHNICAL FIELD OF THE INVENTION
The present invention relates to a burn-in reduction device for performing a burn-in reduction process when displaying an output image on a display means such as a PDP (plasma display panel) or a liquid crystal display device through an image conversion processing unit based on an input image. The present invention relates to an image display device provided.
[0002]
[Prior art]
2. Description of the Related Art Conventionally, as this type of device, for example, there is an image display device that displays still images of various information at a fixed interval at an airport or the like. In such a device, for example, by continuing to display the same still image for 5 minutes or more, so-called burn-in occurs. Therefore, an image display device is provided with a burn-in reduction device.
[0003]
As a conventional burn-in reducing device, a device that displays an image by thinning out pixel data (referred to as a first device, for example, Patent Literature 1), inverts a lit cell and a non-lit cell on a display surface, A device that changes the contrast of an image or changes the brightness of an image (referred to as a second device, for example, Patent Document 2), and a device that displays a high-luminance all-white image on the entire image surface for a certain period of time (third device) For example, there is a device that outputs an image by superimposing a pseudo white noise pattern on an image (for example, Patent Document 4).

[Problems to be solved by the invention]
However, the conventional example having such a configuration has the following problem.
That is, the conventional first and second apparatuses have a problem that the image quality is deteriorated because the original image is thinned out, and the third apparatus displays an image having no relation at all. Therefore, there is a problem that a person looking at the image display device feels strange. Further, in the fourth device, the contrast may be reduced due to the noise pattern, and fine characters or the like included in the image may not be recognized.
[0006]
The present invention has been made in view of such circumstances, and it is intended to reduce image burn-in while displaying an image naturally by gradually changing the ratio in each of a plurality of divided regions in an image. It is an object of the present invention to provide a burn-in reduction device capable of performing the above-mentioned operation and an image display device provided with the same.
[0007]
[Means for Solving the Problems]
The present invention has the following configuration to achieve such an object.
That is, the invention according to
[0008]
(Operation / Effect) The divided image region designation unit divides the regions of the input image and the output image based on the stretch information, outputs the divided image region information, and sequentially designates each divided image region as a processing target. go. In accordance with the designation, the output pixel arrangement interval calculation unit adjusts the interval between the pixel positions of adjacent output pixels in the output image to be gradually larger or smaller or fixed according to the ratio of the divided image area information. Is calculated as the arrangement interval information. Further, the output pixel arrangement position information setting unit sets the interval between the pixel position of the output pixel and the pixel position of the input pixel as the arrangement position information of the output pixel based on the arrangement interval information of the output pixels. The reference input pixel position update control unit updates the reference input pixel position referred to by the interpolation processing unit to determine the pixel value of the output pixel based on the arrangement interval information of the output pixels and the arrangement position information of the output pixels. Control. By sequentially performing such processing for each divided image region, the ratio (also referred to as an enlargement / reduction ratio) can be linearly changed in each divided image region. Therefore, it is possible to convert the input image into a smooth image while adjusting the aspect ratio.
[0009]
Further, each time the time interval measured by the timer section elapses, one of a plurality of patterns of stretch information stored in the stretch information storage section is read and output from the parameter setting section to the above-mentioned image conversion processing unit. Thereby, the stretch information output to the image conversion processing unit is changed at different time intervals set in advance. Therefore, since the ratio is gently changed, burn-in can be reduced while the image is displayed naturally.
[0010]
According to a second aspect of the present invention, in the image sticking reduction device for an image display device according to the first aspect, the ratio is variable in a horizontal direction and / or a vertical direction.
[0011]
(Operation / Effect) The ratio may be changed only in the horizontal direction or only in the vertical direction, or may be changed in the horizontal direction and the vertical direction by combining them.
[0012]
It is preferable that the number of divided image regions in the stretch information is 4, and the ratio in each divided image region is a value that linearly decreases toward the outside of the output image.
[0013]
Preferably, the time interval is in the range of 1 to 5 minutes (claim 4). Since the burn-in phenomenon varies depending on the type of display means, it is preferable to set according to the type.
[0014]
It is preferable that the image display device includes the burn-in reduction device.

BEST MODE FOR CARRYING OUT THE INVENTION
An embodiment of the present invention will be described below with reference to the drawings.
FIG. 1 is a block diagram showing a schematic configuration of an image display device including a burn-in reduction device according to an embodiment of the present invention. In the following description, PDP means a plasma display panel.

The stretch information a5 in the present embodiment is, when the number of divisions of the image area of the input image is n, the resolution of the input image (input resolution) Hni, the resolution of the output image (output resolution) Hno, and the ratio between the input image and the output image. It includes a start ratio Mns corresponding to an initial ratio in the divided image area of the divided image area (also referred to as an enlargement / reduction ratio), an intermediate ratio MNi corresponding to an intermediate ratio, and a coefficient A. This is because if the start ratio Mns and the intermediate ratio Mni are known, the end ratio Mne can be obtained by calculation without knowing the end ratio Mne. Therefore, the same processing can be performed while reducing the information amount of the stretch information. However, the end ratio Mne may be further included, or the end ratio Mne may be included instead of the intermediate ratio.

[0034]
Here, the relationship between input pixels and output pixels will be described with reference to FIG. FIG. 3 is a schematic diagram showing an arrangement relationship between input pixels and output pixels.
[0035]
In this example, the number of input pixels is set to 10, the number of output pixels is set to 16, and the input pixels are equally divided into N = 16. Also, the case where the start ratio Mns = 8 and the intermediate ratio MNi = 10 is shown, while the interval between the input pixels is constant, whereas the output pixel has the interval (output pixel arrangement interval information) M. It increases gradually from 8 to 12 linearly.
[0036]
In this example, the intermediate ratio M1i in the divided image region 1 (= the intermediate ratio M4i in the divided image region 4) can be represented by A × H1i / H1o, and the end ratio M1e can be represented by 2 × (M1i−M1s). The intermediate ratio M2i in the divided image region 2 (= the intermediate ratio M3i in the divided image region 3) can be represented by A × H2i / (Ho / 2−H1o).
[0037]
Next, reference is made to FIG. FIG. 4 is a flowchart showing the flow of processing based on one piece of stretch information. Here, Q = Hno, coefficient A = 16, and variables Key, dP, and Rest are used for convenience of processing. Further, this process represents a process after the output pixel arrangement
[0038]
Step S1
The current start ratio Mns is set as output pixel arrangement interval information M. In addition, a variable Q (= resolution Hno of the output image) is set to the variable Key, and a resolution Hno-1 of the output image is set to the variable Rest. Further, (Mni−Mns) × 2 is set as the variable dP. That is, the variable dP represents the end ratio Mne in the divided image area. The variable Rest is used as a processing counter for determining whether or not it is the end of the designated divided image area, as will be apparent from the steps described later.
[0039]
Step S2
It is determined whether to change the arrangement interval information M. Specifically, it is determined by comparing (Key-Q) with dP.
[0040]
Step S3
If it is determined that the arrangement interval information M is not changed, the variable Key = Key + dP.
[0041]
Step S4
It is assumed that the variable Rest = Rest-1.
[0042]
Step S5
The arrangement interval information M of the output pixels at this time is output.
[0043]
Step S6
The process branches depending on whether the variable Rest is 0 or not. That is, when the variable Rest = 0, it is the end of the divided image area, so the processing in this area is terminated, and the processing shifts to the next divided image area. On the other hand, if the variable Rest is not 0, the process returns to step S2 and the process is performed on the next pixel in the same divided image region.
[0044]
If it is determined in step S2 that the output pixel arrangement interval information M is to be changed, the process proceeds from step S2 to step S7.
[0045]
Step S7
Here, the output pixel arrangement interval information M is incremented by 1 and the variable dP is decremented. Further, it is assumed that a variable Key = Key + dP-Res. Then, the process proceeds to step S4. In this process, the arrangement interval information M of the output pixels is incremented, and the variable dP functioning as a counter in the height direction is decremented. The inclination is determined, and if the inclination is negative (Mns> Mni), the arrangement interval information M of the output pixels is decremented.
[0046]
By the above processing, the output pixel arrangement interval information M is sequentially output from the output pixel arrangement
[0047]
The output pixel arrangement position
[0048]
Here, a specific example of the output pixel arrangement interval information Z will be described.
For example, as shown in FIG. 3, it is assumed that the arrangement interval information M of the output pixels is sequentially determined for the input pixels G <b> 1 to G <b> 10 by the above processing. The output pixel arrangement position
[0049]
Next, a specific example of the reference input pixel position update control information b2 will be described.
For example, it is assumed that the arrangement positions of the output pixels H1 to H16 are determined at the output pixel arrangement positions Z with respect to the input pixels G1 to G10 as shown in FIG. Then, the pixel value of the output pixel H1 is determined by referring to the pixel value of the first input pixel G1 as a reference. Further, the output pixel H2 is determined based on the first input pixel G1 and the pixel value of the second input pixel G2 with reference to the pixel value of the second input pixel G2. The output pixel H3 is determined based on the pixel value of the second input pixel G2. The pixel value is determined by referring to the reference. Further, the pixel value of the output pixel H4 is determined by referring to the pixel value of the third input pixel G3 based on the second input pixel G2. At this time, when the input pixel referred to as a reference has changed, the reference input pixel position update control information b2 is output. That is, in the above example, since the reference is switched from the input pixel G1 to the input pixel G2 at the time of the output pixel H3, the reference input pixel position update control information b2 is output. In this way, the reference input pixel position update control information b2 is sequentially obtained.
[0050]
FIG. 5 shows an example in which the arrangement interval information M of the output pixels, the arrangement position information Z, the reference input pixel position update control information b2, and the like obtained for each of the four divided image areas obtained by the above processing are listed. 8 to FIG.
[0051]
The pixel arrangement position determining unit 13A is provided with the arrangement position information Z and the reference input pixel position update control information b2 as described above, and determines the actual pixel arrangement position of the output pixel based on these. Then, the pixel

It should be noted that instead of obtaining the arrangement interval information M of the output pixels by the processing of FIG. 4 described above, the calculation may be performed as described below. Reference is now made to FIG. 10 is a graph illustrating an example in which the arrangement interval information in FIG. 9 is obtained by calculation.
[0054]
When the arrangement position of the output pixel is Xni and the arrangement interval information to be obtained is Mny,
Mny = {(Mni−Mns) × 2 / Hno} × Xni + Mns
It can be calculated by the following equation. The arrangement interval information M may be obtained from this equation. As a result, the ratio can be changed more linearly in each divided image area. Depending on the result of the calculation, the output pixel may be obtained at a position that does not match the physical pixel position of the

【The invention's effect】
As apparent from the above description, according to the present invention, the image conversion processing unit divides the areas of the input image and the output image based on the stretch information, outputs the divided image area information, and outputs The divided image areas are sequentially designated. In accordance with the designation, the interval from the pixel position of the adjacent output pixel in the output image is calculated as the output interval arrangement information of the output pixel in which the interval is gradually increased, decreased, or fixed according to the ratio of the divided image area information. Furthermore, based on the output pixel arrangement interval information, the interval between the output pixel and the input pixel is set as output pixel arrangement position information. Based on the output pixel arrangement interval information and the output pixel arrangement position information, the interpolation processing unit controls updating of the reference input pixel position referred to for determining the pixel value of the output pixel. By sequentially performing such processing for each divided image region, the ratio can be linearly varied in each divided image region. Therefore, it is possible to convert the input image into a smooth image while adjusting the aspect ratio.
[0076]
Further, every time a preset time interval elapses, the stretch information stored in the stretch information storage unit is read out and output from the parameter setting unit to the image conversion processing unit. As a result, the stretch information output at predetermined time intervals is changed. Therefore, since the ratio is gently changed, the burn-in can be reduced while the image is displayed naturally.
