Abstract
Description
【0001】

BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION
The present invention relates to a digital camera having image display means for performing image display based on an image signal obtained by a photographing means.
[0002]
[Prior art]
Many of the commercially available digital cameras are equipped with a liquid crystal monitor as an image display means for displaying an image acquired through a photographing lens. As this type of digital camera, for example, as described in Patent Document 1, there is a digital camera including a liquid crystal monitor that is rotatable with respect to the camera body. Since this LCD monitor can be rotated to any position, such as the front, side, and back of the camera body, when shooting, not only normal shooting, but also from the front or side of the digital camera. Framing can be performed while observing the LCD monitor. Further, when not photographing, the liquid crystal monitor can be rotated to a protection position that protects the photographing lens of the digital camera. Therefore, the liquid crystal monitor can be used as a lens cover for protecting the photographing lens.

[Patent Document 1]
Japanese Patent Laid-Open No. 08-331424 (page 3, FIG. 5)
[0004]
[Problems to be solved by the invention]
By the way, the above-mentioned digital camera does not cause any particular problems when shooting indoors. However, when shooting outdoors during the day, especially in sunlight, the surrounding brightness is superior to the brightness of the LCD monitor screen. The contrast of the image becomes low and it becomes difficult to confirm the display image. As a countermeasure, a small liquid crystal display may be built in the camera body and an electronic viewfinder (EVF) for enlarging an image displayed on the camera body with a loupe may be provided. However, if both a liquid crystal monitor and an EVF are provided, the camera size is reduced. It becomes difficult. Furthermore, the cost may increase due to an increase in the number of parts. Further, a light shielding hood can be provided on the liquid crystal monitor so that sunlight does not enter the display screen. However, there is a possibility that the same problem as in the case of providing the above-described EVF may occur.
[0005]
The present invention has been made to solve the above problems, and an object of the present invention is to provide a digital camera capable of confirming a display image under sunlight without providing a light shielding hood or EVF.
[0006]
[Means for Solving the Problems]
In order to achieve the above object, in a digital camera having an image display means for displaying an image based on an image signal obtained by the photographing means, the image display means is centered on a rotation axis substantially orthogonal to the photographing optical axis. It is characterized by being pivotable between a lying position where the display surface is folded and folded so that its display surface faces the bottom surface of the camera body, and a standing position where the display surface stands up from the bottom surface of the camera body. Further, it is preferable that the photographing means is rotatably attached to a rotation axis perpendicular to the photographing optical axis.
[0007]
Further, the digital camera of the present invention is a digital camera having an image display means for performing image display based on an image signal obtained by the photographing means, wherein the image display means is a first rotation axis that is substantially orthogonal to the photographing optical axis. It can be pivoted between the lying position where the display surface is folded so that the display surface faces the upper surface of the camera body and the standing position where it stands up from the upper surface of the camera body. And the image display means is attached to a second rotation axis that is substantially orthogonal to the first rotation axis, and the image display means is attached to the camera together with the first rotation axis about the second rotation axis. It is possible to turn to the bottom side of the body. Furthermore, a detection means for detecting whether the image display means is on the upper surface side or the bottom surface side of the camera body is provided, and an image displayed on the display surface of the image display means in accordance with a signal from the detection means is provided. It is preferable to change the posture. Further, it is preferable that the photographing means is rotatably attached to a rotation axis perpendicular to the photographing optical axis.
[0008]
Further, the digital camera of the present invention is a digital camera having an image display means for performing image display based on an image signal obtained by the photographing means, a connection for connecting the side surface of the image display means and the side surface of the camera body. One end of the connecting member is an axis provided on the side surface of the image display means, and is rotatably held by a first rotation axis that is substantially orthogonal to the photographing optical axis, and the other end is A first upright that is provided on a side surface of the camera body and is rotatably held by a second rotation shaft that is substantially orthogonal to the photographing optical axis, and the image display means stands from the upper surface of the camera body.
