Abstract
Description
【0001】

TECHNICAL FIELD OF THE INVENTION
The present invention relates to a spindle motor, a recording disk drive, and a polygon scanner that employ a dynamic pressure gas bearing.
[0002]
[Prior art]
In recent years, there has been an increasing demand for faster access to recorded information in a recording disk device, an optical disk device, and the like, and an improvement in print quality and a higher speed in a digital copying machine, a laser printer, and the like. In order to satisfy these demands, spindle motors used in the respective devices have been improved in accuracy and speed. However, as the rotation speed of the spindle motor increases, the vibration caused by the spindle motor tends to increase.
On the other hand, in the recording disk device, the density of recording tracks formed on the recording surface of the recording disk is increasing year by year, and there is a concern that even a slight vibration may cause a read / write error. In addition, a hard disk device that has started to be incorporated into an information home appliance such as an AV device is required to be particularly quiet. Therefore, a vibration damping mechanism made of an elastic body is adopted for a spindle motor to reduce vibration and noise (for example, Patent Document 1).
[0003]
On the other hand, in order to realize high precision and high speed rotation of the spindle motor, it has been proposed to employ a dynamic pressure gas bearing as a bearing of the spindle motor. The dynamic pressure gas bearing supports the rotating member in a non-contact manner by the dynamic pressure of gas held in a minute gap formed between the relatively rotating members (for example, Patent Document 2). ).

[Problems to be solved by the invention]
Generally, in a dynamic pressure bearing, a bearing portion (a minute gap and a working fluid) has a vibration damping function. However, since gas has a lower viscosity than oil, a dynamic pressure gas bearing has a lower vibration damping function than a dynamic pressure liquid bearing. On the other hand, in a high-speed rotation region in which the application of the dynamic pressure gas bearing is required, vibration (for example, electromagnetic vibration) due to the motor tends to increase, and it is necessary to sufficiently secure a vibration damping function.
Further, the conventional vibration damping mechanism cannot exert a sufficient effect on the vibration of the motor in the bending direction (the direction in which the shaft falls down). This is because an elastic body such as rubber used as a conventional vibration damping mechanism exerts a high damping effect in a tensile direction and a compressing direction, but cannot exert a high damping effect in a bending direction.
[0007]
An object of the present invention is to attenuate vibration of a dynamic pressure gas bearing and to suppress vibration and noise of a spindle motor.
[0008]
[Means for Solving the Problems]
A spindle motor according to a first aspect includes a sleeve, a shaft, a stator, and a rotor magnet. The sleeve has a hollow cylindrical shape. The shaft is disposed in the sleeve so as to be relatively rotatable. The stator is fixed to one of the sleeve and the shaft (a member on the stationary side). The rotor magnet is fixed to the other of the sleeve and the shaft (a member on the rotating side) so as to face the stator, and forms a magnetic circuit unit together with the stator. A micro-gap secured between the wall surface of the sleeve and the wall surface of the shaft and the gas present in the micro-gap constitute a dynamic pressure gas bearing that generates dynamic pressure when the sleeve and the shaft rotate relative to each other. . The spindle motor further includes a fixed member and a vibration damping unit. The fixing member is a disk-shaped member that supports one end of the sleeve and the shaft (the member on the stationary side). The vibration damping part is disposed on the fixed member.
[0009]
In this spindle motor, when current is supplied to the stator, torque acts on the rotor magnet in the magnetic circuit portion. As a result, one of the sleeve and the shaft rotates with respect to the other. The relative rotational movement between the sleeve and the shaft generates a dynamic pressure in the hydrodynamic gas bearing, and the dynamic pressure gas bearing supports the bearing load. On the other hand, when vibration occurs in the spindle motor and one of the sleeve and the shaft (the member on the stationary side) vibrates, the vibration damping unit disposed on the fixed member attenuates the vibration. As a result, the quietness of the spindle motor is improved.
The fixing member may be formed integrally with the other (stationary member) of the sleeve and the shaft, or may be formed separately. Further, the fixing member may be formed integrally with a casing or the like of the hard disk device.
[0010]
According to a second aspect of the present invention, in the first aspect, the vibration damping portion is housed in a recess of the fixed member. For this reason, the effect of the vibration damping unit to attenuate the vibration generated in the fixed member is improved.
According to a third aspect of the present invention, in the first or second aspect, the vibration damping portion surrounds an outer peripheral side of one end (a member on the stationary side) of the sleeve and the shaft. Therefore, transmission of vibration in the radial direction can be suppressed. Note that the shape of the vibration damping section is not limited to a circle. Further, the vibration damping portion may be provided at a plurality of positions different in the radial direction, or may be formed as a whole into a single ring by a plurality of portions arranged in a circumferential direction, May be combined.
[0011]
In the spindle motor according to the fourth aspect, in any one of the first to third aspects, the vibration damping unit includes a plurality of plate members stacked in the axial direction. Therefore, when vibration in the bending direction occurs, the laminated plate members bend, and at that time, a resistance force acts on the plate members in the shear direction. Vibration damping is obtained by this resistance, and a sufficient vibration damping function is exhibited for vibration in the bending direction.
According to a fifth aspect of the present invention, there is provided a recording disk drive capable of recording information on a housing, the spindle motor according to any one of the first to fourth aspects, fixed to the housing, and the other of the sleeve and the shaft. It has a disk-shaped recording medium and information access means for writing or reading information at a required position on the recording medium.
[0012]
In this recording disk drive, reliability and quietness are improved by using a spindle motor in which vibration and noise are suppressed.
A polygon scanner according to a sixth aspect includes a housing, the spindle motor according to any one of the first to fourth aspects, fixed to the housing, and a polygon mirror fixed to the other of the sleeve and the shaft. .
In this polygon scanner, reliability and quietness are improved by using a spindle motor in which vibration and noise are suppressed.

[Other embodiments]
The present invention is not limited to the above embodiment, and it goes without saying that various modifications can be made without departing from the scope of the invention.
[0030]
(1) In the above-described embodiment, the vibration damping portion is constituted by a plurality of annular plate members laminated in the axial direction, but may be constituted by a plurality of plate members having different shapes or different lamination directions. For example, the vibration damping section may be configured by stacking a plurality of cylindrical plate members in a radial direction, or may be configured by a single spiral plate member stacked in an axial direction. .

(7) The embodiments described above do not limit the embodiments of the present invention thereto. For example, in the drawings, the dynamic pressure generating groove is drawn only on one surface constituting the dynamic pressure gas bearing portion, but the other one surface constituting the dynamic pressure gas bearing portion, or both surfaces are formed. However, the present invention can be applied to other structures.
[0038]
【The invention's effect】
In the spindle motor according to the first aspect, when vibration occurs in one of the sleeve and the shaft (the member on the stationary side), the vibration damping portion disposed on the fixed member attenuates the vibration. As a result, the quietness of the spindle motor is improved.
In the spindle motor according to the second aspect, in the first aspect, since the vibration damping portion is housed in the concave portion of the fixing member, the effect of the vibration damping portion damping the vibration generated in the fixing member is improved.
In the spindle motor according to the third aspect, in the first or second aspect, since the vibration damping portion surrounds the outer peripheral side of one end (the stationary side member) of the sleeve and the shaft, the vibration is transmitted from the shaft. Vibration can be prevented from being transmitted in the radial direction.
[0039]
In the spindle motor according to the fourth aspect, in any one of the first to third aspects, the vibration damping portion includes a plurality of plate members stacked in the axial direction, so that the stacked plate members bend. A resistance force acts on the member in the shear direction. Vibration damping is obtained by this resistance, and a sufficient vibration damping function is exhibited for vibration in the bending direction.
In the recording disk drive according to the fifth aspect, reliability and quietness are improved by using a spindle motor in which vibration and noise are suppressed.
In the polygon scanner according to the sixth aspect, reliability and quietness are improved by using a spindle motor in which vibration and noise are suppressed.
