一体型(室内型)エアコンにいてマイナスイオン発生手段を有する公知技術として、特開2000−121087号「室内エアコン用マイナスイオン発生装置」が公知で存在する。上記の公知技術は、トルマリン二次素材を内装することで、一体型(室内型)エアコンよりトルマリンによるマイナスイオンを放出するものである。
また、針放電式マイナスイオン発生器を装備した一体型(室内型)エアコンとして、図6に示す構造のものが公知である。室内側と室外側とを隔離する硬質発泡合成樹脂製垂直隔離板の側壁部の前面に針放電式マイナスイオン発生器を装備している。針が吹き出し口に接近していることで人の指が接触する危険がある。

本願発明の一体型エアコンのイオン発生器取付構造の実施態様を説明する。
室内側と室外側とを隔離する硬質発泡合成樹脂製垂直隔離板に、その側部寄りに位置して前後方向に貫通する四角柱形状の支持孔を設ける。四角柱形状のイオン発生器を前記支持孔に挿入し係合する。
垂直隔離板の側壁部の前面、内面の一部および外面の一部を包囲する、平面視コ状の金属保護体を設ける。
前記支持孔に挿入したイオン発生器の後端を後パネルの一部に接当させ、前記金属保護体の内端部をイオン発生器の前面部に係合させる。
前記金属保護体にアーステープを取付け、アースケースの下端を機体にアース接続する。
