Abstract
Description
【0001】

Here, when performing a purification treatment, a biological treatment mainly using an activated sludge method used in sewage treatment or the like is generally performed. In this activated sludge treatment step, digestion after methane fermentation treatment is performed. The organic matter and nitrogen are mainly removed from the liquid.

[0008]
In the above-described nitrogen removal step, the denitrification reaction requires an organic substance as a hydrogen donor. Generally, denitrification requires 3 to 4 times as much organic matter as nitrogen, and there is no problem in ordinary sewage treatment in this category, but in the case of digested liquid after methane fermentation, many organic substances are required in the methane fermentation process. Is consumed, and there is not enough organic matter required for denitrification, so that the reaction does not proceed and nitrogen removal becomes poor. Therefore, when treating a methane fermentation waste liquid or the like in which organic substances are not enough for nitrogen to be removed, methanol is injected as an organic substance into an activated sludge tank, and the methanol is used as a hydrogen source to advance a denitrification reaction ( Non-Patent Document 1).

As a method for removing organic acids accumulated in a methane fermentation tank such as propionic acid, for example, Japanese Patent Application Laid-Open No. H9-239393 discloses a method in which a methane fermentation tank is equipped with a pH meter and volatile organic acid components. A separate measuring device and a substrate charge control means are installed, and a non-ionizing volatile organic acid other than acetic acid is measured by a liquid phase pH value measurement and a component-specific measuring device, and then the non-ionizing volatile organic acid is calculated by the calculating means. It is disclosed that an acid concentration is determined, and the mass of the non-ionized volatile organic acid is controlled using the index as an index so as not to exceed 15 to 20 (mg / l).

[Problems to be solved by the invention]
Among the above conventional techniques, the method of injecting methanol into the activated sludge treatment step for treating digestion liquid after methane fermentation has a problem that the treatment cost is increased as compared with nitrogen removal in ordinary sewage treatment. I was Further, it does not disclose that the amount of organic acid in the methane fermentation tank is reduced at the same time.
[0014]
On the other hand, JP-A-9-239393 and JP-A-5-3289947 disclose methods for reducing the amount of organic acids in a methane fermentation tank. Since the concentration of organic acid is controlled by adjusting the amount of slurry charged into the tank and the temperature in the methane fermentation tank, there is a problem that the efficiency of the methane fermentation treatment is easily reduced and the control is insufficient. . Also, the use of the removed organic acid has not been studied.
[0015]
As described above, in the above-described conventional technology, promotion of denitrification in the activated sludge tank and removal of the organic acid in the methane fermentation tank are separately studied, and the treatment efficiency of both the methane fermentation tank and the activated sludge tank is simultaneously examined. There is no study on how to improve this.
[0016]
Therefore, an object of the present invention is to solve the above-mentioned problems and to improve the efficiency of activated sludge treatment by simultaneously promoting the denitrification of the activated sludge tank while maintaining the optimum operating efficiency of the methane fermentation tank. It is an object of the present invention to provide a methane fermentation treatment method and apparatus that can perform the method.
[0017]
[Means for Solving the Problems]
That is, in the methane fermentation treatment method of the present invention, the organic waste is slurried, put into a methane fermentation tank, methane fermented by anaerobic microorganisms, taken out as digestion liquid, and this digestion liquid is treated in an activated sludge tank. Methane fermentation treatment method,
The organic acid concentration in the methane fermentation tank is measured, and when the measured value is equal to or more than a predetermined value, a part of the slurry containing the organic acid is taken out of the methane fermentation tank, and the slurry containing the organic acid, or An organic acid adding step of adding the solution containing the organic acid separated from the slurry to the activated sludge tank is performed to maintain the organic acid concentration in the methane fermentation tank below a predetermined value.
[0018]
In the methane fermentation process, first, high-molecular-weight organic substances such as carbohydrates, proteins, and fats in organic wastes are converted into acetic acid, propionic acid, butyric acid, etc. Hydrolyzes to volatile organic acids and lower alcohols. Next, by the action of methanogens, which are obligately anaerobic bacteria, these organic acids and lower alcohols are decomposed into final products such as methane, carbon dioxide, and ammonia. Therefore, volatile organic acids and lower alcohols generated by methane fermentation can also be used as a hydrogen donor necessary for the denitrification reaction for removing nitrogen described above.
[0019]
Therefore, according to the method of the present invention, by adding the organic acids and lower alcohols contained in the slurry to the activated sludge tank, the organic acid concentration in the methane fermentation tank is maintained below a predetermined value, and the fermentation efficiency is reduced. In addition to preventing the decrease of the water content, the organic acid and the lower alcohols added to the activated sludge tank serve as a hydrogen source to promote the denitrification and improve the treatment efficiency of the activated sludge tank. By effectively utilizing the organic acid and the like in the slurry in this manner, the addition of methanol becomes unnecessary or the amount of methanol can be reduced, and the processing cost can be reduced. Further, the post-treatment of the removed organic acid is not required.
[0020]
In the method of the present invention, it is preferable that the organic acid to be measured is propionic acid, and the organic acid adding step be performed when the propionic acid concentration is 2000 ppm or more.
[0021]
According to this, propionic acid among the organic acids particularly inhibits the entire metabolism of methane fermentation, and the fermentation tends to be unstable. Therefore, by keeping this concentration below 2000 ppm, stable methane fermentation is maintained. be able to.
[0022]
In the method of the present invention, it is also preferable that the organic acid to be measured is propionic acid and acetic acid, and the organic acid adding step is performed when the ratio of the propionic acid concentration to the acetic acid concentration is 4 or more. .
[0023]
During the acclimatization period in which the load is increased in methane fermentation, the absolute number of bacteria is insufficient in the tank, so that not only propionic acid but also acetic acid, a decomposition product thereof, accumulates. Then, as the bacteria grow, the accumulated amount of both acetic acid and propionic acid decreases. Therefore, when the ratio of acetic acid and propionic acid is in a certain balance, fermentation proceeds smoothly even if both accumulate. However, when the amount of acetic acid accumulated is small, but only the concentration of propionic acid increases, the balance of the bacteria that metabolize propionic acid is disrupted, particularly inhibiting the entire metabolism of methane fermentation, and the fermentation tends to be unstable, By setting the above ratio to less than 4, stable methane fermentation can be maintained.
[0024]
Further, in the method of the present invention, it is preferable to reduce the amount of the organic waste charged into the methane fermentation tank during the organic acid addition step. According to this, the bacterium that metabolizes propionic acid proliferates, and can perform a treatment corresponding to the load, thereby stabilizing the fermentation.
[0025]
In the method of the present invention, in the organic acid addition step, a solution containing the organic acid separated from the slurry containing the organic acid is added to the activated sludge tank, and the solid content after the separation is subjected to the methane fermentation. It is preferable to return it to the tank. According to this, since only the solution containing the organic acid is added to the activated sludge tank, the treatment efficiency of the activated sludge tank can be further improved without increasing the amount of excess sludge in the activated sludge treatment tank.
[0026]
Further, in the method of the present invention, the temperature of the slurry containing the organic acid or the solution containing the organic acid separated from the slurry, which is added to the activated sludge tank, may be adjusted to be 40 ° C. or less. preferable. Bacteria in the activated sludge tank die when the temperature exceeds 40 ° C. For this reason, in the case of high temperature methane fermentation in which the fermentation temperature is 55 to 60 ° C., the temperature of the slurry containing the organic acid or the solution containing the organic acid separated from the slurry is added to the temperature of the slurry before addition to the activated sludge tank. By controlling the temperature to 40 ° C. or lower, the microorganisms in the activated sludge can be maintained.
[0027]
On the other hand, the methane fermentation treatment apparatus of the present invention comprises an organic waste supply means for slurrying organic waste decomposable by anaerobic microorganisms and introducing the slurry into a methane fermentation tank, and methane fermentation of the organic waste. A methane fermentation tank for causing, comprising an organic acid detection means for detecting the organic acid concentration in the methane fermentation tank, and an activated sludge tank for treating the digested liquid after the methane fermentation,
When a value equal to or greater than a predetermined value is detected by the organic acid detection means, a part of the slurry containing the organic acid is taken out of the methane fermentation tank, and the activated sludge is extracted as the slurry or a solution separated from the slurry. An organic acid adding means for adding to the tank is provided.
[0028]
According to the apparatus of the present invention, the organic acid in the slurry can be effectively used by the organic acid adding means, whereby the amount of methanol normally added during the anaerobic step of the activated sludge step becomes unnecessary or the amount used is suppressed. Therefore, it is possible to realize a methane fermentation apparatus that can run methane fermentation with a low running cost and a high organic substance load.
[0029]
In the apparatus of the present invention, the organic acid adding means includes a separation membrane for solid-liquid separating the slurry containing the extracted organic acid, and a solution adding means for adding the separated solution to the activated sludge tank. And a solid content returning means for returning the separated solid content into the methane fermentation tank. According to this, since only the solution containing the organic acid is added to the activated sludge tank by the separation membrane, it is possible to further improve the treatment efficiency of the activated sludge tank without increasing the amount of excess sludge in the activated sludge processing tank. it can.

When measuring the propionic acid concentration, it is preferable that the measurement value for starting the organic acid adding step is started when the propionic acid concentration becomes 2000 ppm or more. If the concentration of propionic acid continues to be 2,000 ppm or more, the pH will decrease, which will increase the acetic acid concentration due to fermentation inhibition, which will cause a further decrease in the pH, which will eventually stop fermentation, which is not preferred. The organic acid addition step is preferably completed until the propionic acid concentration becomes 1500 ppm or less.

Further, instead of the above-mentioned propionic acid concentration, the ratio of the propionic acid concentration to the acetic acid concentration may be measured. In this case, it is preferable that the measurement value for starting the organic acid addition step be started when the above ratio becomes 4 or more. Preferably, the organic acid addition step is completed until the above ratio becomes 3 or less.
