【発明が解決しようとする課題】
上記した各文献に記載されたシステムは、テレビ電話やテレビ会議、ショッピング、その他の生活情報などを個々に単独で提供するシステムであって、様々なカテゴリーの情報やサービスを総合的に提供するものではなかった。また上記した各システムの操作は、高齢者などのようなコンピーターを苦手とする人達には非常に困難な作業であるため、それらの人々が、生活に必要な情報やサービスを等しく受けることができないという問題点があった。

そこで本発明は、高齢者などのコンピューターを苦手とする人でも、チャンネル感覚で簡単容易に操作をすることができ、且つ１台のユーザー端末機で、広範囲な情報やサービスを総合的に受信することができる情報受信サービスシステムの提供を目的とするものである。

【課題を解決するための手段】
上記の目的を達成するため、請求項１に記載の本発明は、システム本部に配備された複数機種のサーバーに、インターネットに接続可能な通信手段を介してユーザー端末機を接続することにより、各種の情報やサービスが総合的に提供される情報受信サービスシステムであって、前記ユーザー端末機の画面に、提供される内容が掲載されたチャンネルメニューを表示するとともに、それぞれのチャンネルが、メニューに対応するサーバーを選択して接続するように構成したものである。

【発明の実施の形態】
以下に、本発明の実施の形態を図面に基づいて説明するが、本発明で提供する情報受信サービスシステムは、後述するユーザー端末機２０の画面上に、提供される情報やサービスの内容をチャンネルメニューとして掲載し、所望するメニューを選択すると、そのチャンネルと所定のサーバーが自動的に接続する（これをチャンネルネットと仮称する）ようにしたものである。

テレビ電話（１ｃｈ）は、インターネットの接続によって、全世界の人々と、相手の画像を見ながら会話をすることができるシステムである。さらにテレビ会議（２ｃｈ）は、最大１０画面まで分割・接続が可能となっているものである。なおこれらのテレビ電話またはテレビ会議は、テレビ電話ソフト２１またはテレビ会議ソフト２２の起動と展開によって、図４に示すステップで実施されるようになっている。またショッピング（３ｃｈ）は、提供された商品情報に基づいてショッピングをすることができ、電子マネーで決済することも可能となっている。
