Abstract
Description
【0001】
【0006】
オンデマンド方式の代表的なルーティングプロトコルとして、例えば、IETF(Internet Engineering Task Force)のMANET WG(Mobile Ad hoc NETwork Working Group)で提案されているAODV(Ad hoc On−demand Distance Vector)プロトコルがある。

また、端末A(202)の通信範囲212には、端末S(201)、端末B(203)および端末C(204)が含まれる。また、端末B(203)の通信範囲213には、端末S(201)、端末A(202)および端末E(206)が含まれる。また、端末C(204)の通信範囲214には、端末A(202)、端末D(205)および端末E(206)が含まれる。 また、端末E(206)の通信範囲216には、端末B(203)、端末C(204)および端末D(205)が含まれる。
【0030】
ここでアドレスとは、端末を一意に識別できるものであればよく、例えば、MAC(Media Access Control)アドレスやIP(Internet Protocol)アドレス等を用いることができる。

The present invention relates to a wireless ad hoc communication system, in particular, a wireless ad hoc communication system for finding an alternative route when the intermediate link quality deteriorates during packet transmission and preparing for subsequent route switching, a terminal in the system, and And a program for causing a computer (terminal) to execute the method.
[0002]
[Prior art]
With the advancement of miniaturization and high performance of electronic devices, it has become possible to easily carry and use them. Therefore, an environment where terminals can be connected to a network on the spot and communication is possible is required. I have. As one of them, the development of a network that is temporarily constructed as necessary, that is, a wireless ad hoc network technology is being promoted. In this wireless ad hoc network, each terminal (for example, a computer, a personal digital assistant (PDA), a mobile phone, and the like) is autonomously distributed and connected to each other without providing a specific access point.
[0003]
In this wireless ad hoc network, unlike a conventional fixed network, topology changes frequently occur, so it is necessary to establish a route control method for ensuring reliability, that is, a routing protocol. Currently proposed routing protocols for wireless ad hoc networks can be broadly divided into two categories: on-demand systems and table-driven systems. Also, a hybrid system integrating these has been proposed.
[0004]
Since the table drive system and the hybrid system constantly exchange route information, they are said to be relatively resistant to obstacles. On the other hand, the size of overhead due to constantly transmitting and receiving information poses a problem. For example, considering an environment in which a mobile device driven by a battery is connected to a wireless ad hoc network, it is not advisable to always exchange path information from the viewpoint of power consumption. Further, if the cycle of updating the route table is long, there is a problem that a sudden failure cannot be dealt with.
[0005]
On the other hand, the on-demand method sends a route discovery request immediately before communication to create a route, so even if a link suddenly fails at the start of communication, ignore the link and create a valid route. create. However, if the quality of the link used deteriorates during communication and the route becomes unavailable, the communication is immediately interrupted, and it is necessary to re-create the route from the source.
[0006]
As a typical routing protocol of the on-demand method, for example, there is an AODV (Ad hoc On-demandD) protocol proposed in MANET WG (Mobile Ad Hoc NETwork Working Group) of IETF (Internet Engineering Task Force). In the AODV protocol, a method of creating a new route by transmitting a message requesting to rediscover the route from the nodes at both ends when a link is broken and disconnected by a method called "local repair" is proposed. (For example, see Non-Patent Document 1).

[0008]
[Problems to be solved by the invention]
In the above-described conventional technology, a route is rediscovered after a link has failed and been disconnected. Therefore, it takes time to rediscover the route after the link is disconnected, and it may not be possible to smoothly switch to a new route. For this reason, it is considered that the technique according to the related art is not suitable for a situation where immediacy is required, for example, when a moving image or a sound is distributed in real time.
[0009]
In particular, in a wireless ad hoc network, topology changes occur very frequently due to the movement of terminals (nodes), radio wave conditions, and the like. Therefore, it is important to secure a method that enables communication even when a link is disconnected. Generally, link disconnection does not occur suddenly, and in many cases, link quality gradually deteriorates and leads to disconnection. In the process of gradually degrading in this way, finding an alternative path in advance can respond instantaneously to a failure, and is expected to improve reliability as a result.
[0010]
Accordingly, an object of the present invention is to provide a wireless ad hoc communication system that finds an alternative route in advance and realizes quick route switching in preparation for a situation in which the quality of a link during communication deteriorates and is disconnected. It is in.

BEST MODE FOR CARRYING OUT THE INVENTION
Next, embodiments of the present invention will be described in detail with reference to the drawings.
[0028]
FIG. 1 is a diagram illustrating an example of a wireless ad hoc network assumed in a wireless ad hoc communication system according to an embodiment of the present invention. In the example of FIG. 1A, six terminals, namely, a terminal S (201) to a terminal E (206), constitute a network of the wireless ad hoc communication system. The dotted lines around each terminal indicate the communication ranges 211 to 216 of the
[0029]
For example, the
[0030]
FIG. 1B schematically shows such a relationship between terminals. In FIG. 1B, terminals within the communication ranges 211 to 216 are connected by lines. Therefore, it can be understood that when communication is performed between terminals that are not directly connected, communication must be performed with a plurality of hops via another terminal.
[0031]
FIG. 2 is a diagram showing a procedure for setting a route in the wireless ad hoc network according to the example of FIG. When a route is not set between certain terminals, a conventional technique can be used as a procedure for initially setting a route. For example, in the above-described AODV protocol, a route is set by transmitting a route request message from a calling terminal to a destination terminal, and sending a route reply message from the destination terminal to the calling terminal.
[0032]
FIG. 2A shows a flow of a packet when a route request is made from the terminal S (201) to the terminal D (205). When transmitting data to the terminal D, the terminal S enters a route discovery process if a route to the terminal D has not been set yet. First, the terminal S broadcasts a route request message (RREQ). The terminal A (202) and the terminal B (203) that have received this route request message set a reverse route (Reverse Path) to the terminal S that is the transmission source of the route request message. Here, the reverse route means a route in which, when a request to transmit data to the transmission source of the route request message occurs, the neighboring terminal that has transmitted the route request message is the next transfer destination.
[0033]
Terminals A and B that have received the route request message further broadcast the route request message because the destination is not their own terminal. As a result, the route request message is transmitted to the terminal C (204) and the terminal E (206). On the other hand, the route request message broadcasted by the terminal A is also received by the terminals S and B, but is discarded by the terminals S and B because the request identifiers attached to the route request messages match. Similarly, the route request message broadcasted by the terminal B is discarded in the terminal S or the terminal A. Thus, the request identifier is used for double receipt checking.
[0034]
Terminals C and E that have received the route request message set up a reverse route to terminal S, and then further broadcast the route request message. As a result, the route request message reaches the terminal D (205). Terminal D receives the route request message from both terminal C and terminal E, but discards the route request message received later.
[0035]
FIG. 2B shows a flow of a packet when a route reply is sent from the terminal D to the terminal S. After setting the reverse route to the terminal S, the terminal D unicasts a route reply message (Route REPly message: RREP) to the source terminal S. For example, when the terminal D replies to the route request message from the terminal C, the terminal D performs the unicast transmission with the terminal C as the next transmission destination.
[0036]
The terminal C that has received the route reply message sets a reverse route to the terminal D that is the source of the route reply message. Then, the terminal C transfers the route reply message to the terminal A. Similarly, the terminal A that has received the route reply message sets a reverse route to the terminal D that is the transmission source of the route reply message, and transfers the route reply message to the terminal S.
[0037]
The terminal S that has received the route reply message sets a reverse route to the terminal D that is the source of the route reply message. This completes the route discovery process.
