Abstract

<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a gazette forming device which suspends the operation of the drive force transmission of a gazette nail as it becomes necessary/unnecessary to form a gazette. <P>SOLUTION: This gazette forming device is provided with a clutch mechanism 400 which optionally continues/shuts off the transmission of drive force in the middle of a driving force transmitting means for reciprocally and inwardly moving a gazette nail synchronously with the rotary movement of an end sealer. The means for transmitting drive force is provided with a swing lever 320 which takes out power from the rotary drive shaft of the end sealer for swinging. The swing lever 320 is separated into an input side member 320a and an output side member 320b at a spindle part for rotating the lever as one. A clutch panel 420 is provided between the end faces of both spindles 324, 326 for continuing/shutting off the power moving along the shaft direction. The clutch panel is switched to move to two positions, continue and shut off positions, by a shifter member 430a which moves in the spindle direction held by a shaft receiving member 410. 本発明は自動包装機械のエンドシール部に設けられるガゼット形成装置に関するものである。

【従来の技術】
包装形態の一つとして図1に示すような、エンドシール部1の近傍のフィルム側面に、内方に折り込まれた折り目(ガゼット)2が形成されたガゼット付き包装体3がある。このガゼット付き包装体を製造するには、通常、ピロー包装機を用いてピロー包装処理をし、図2に示すように、最終工程のエンドシールを施す前(或いはそれと同時)に、筒状フィルム15のエンドシールされる部位近傍の両側面を、ガゼット爪31にて内方に押し込むことにより、ガゼット2を形成するようにしている。

ここで、上記ガゼット爪31はリンク機構等の駆動力伝達手段によってエンドシール装置のエンドシーラ24a,24bの動きに同期させて内方に向けて往復駆動させるようにしており、その駆動力は上記エンドシーラ24a,24bを回転駆動させている回転軸から取り出している。

【発明が解決しようとする課題】
ところで、ピロー包装機は、高さ等その大きさの種々異なる多品種の被包装物に対して包装処理するようになっており、被包装物の種類に応じてガゼット2を形成したり、形成しなかったりする。例えば、被包装物の高さが低い場合などには、ガゼット2を形成しない。1つのピロー包装機で、このようにガゼット2を形成する包装体と形成しない包装体の2種類に対応するためには、従来、ガゼット爪31を駆動力伝達手段に対して着脱自在に取り付けていた。これにより、ガゼット2を必要としない被包装物の包装を行うにあたっては、ガゼット爪31を駆動力伝達手段から取り外すようにしていた。

しかしながら、そのようにガゼット爪31を取り外した場合でも、係るガゼット爪31を駆動するリンク機構は、ガゼット2を形成するか否かに拘わらず、そのピロー包装作業中においては絶えず動作させられていることになる。このため、係るリンク機構の摺動各部等を無駄に摩耗させてしまい、ガゼット成形の実働時間に比して、リンク機構部の損耗の進行は早く、耐久性の面で問題があった。さらに、リンク機構部の動作に伴い、ガゼット爪31を取り付ける部材は、直線往復運動を行うことになり、その運動に伴い駆動力伝達手段から大きな音を発生することになる。係る音は、騒音となり、生産工場における環境の低下を招くので好ましくない。

特に、生産効率の向上から、単位時間あたりの生産個数を増加させると、駆動力伝達手段の動作も高速になり、上記した損耗や騒音の問題はより顕著に発生することになる。

本発明は、上記した背景に鑑みてなされたもので、その目的とするところは、上記した問題を解決し、ガゼットの形成の要否に応じてガゼット爪に駆動力を伝達する駆動力伝達手段の動作を適宜簡易に停止させることができ、もって駆動力伝達手段の耐久性の向上を図ることができる自動包装機械のガゼット形成装置を提供することにある。

【課題を解決するための手段】
上記した目的を達成するために、本発明に係る自動包装機械のガゼット形成装置では、被包装物が所定間隔ごとに内包されて搬送されてくる筒状フィルムの所定部位を、公転移動する一対のエンドシーラ間に挟んで横方向にシールする自動包装機のエンドシール部に設けられて、該エンドシーラによるシールに先だって該シール部位の前後に亘る進行方向両側面を、ガゼット爪にて内方に向けて押し込んで該筒状フィルムの側面に折り目を付けてガゼットを形成するガゼット形成装置において、該ガゼット爪を該エンドシーラの回転移動に同期させて内方に向けて往復移動させる駆動力伝達手段の途中に、該駆動力を任意に伝達・遮断切り替え可能なクラッチ機構を介在させるように構成した。

ここで、前記駆動力伝達手段が、前記エンドシーラを回転駆動する回転軸の軸端に取り付けられたカムと、そのカムに係合して揺動する揺動レバーとを有し、前記クラッチ機構は該揺動レバーを分断して組み込まれ、その分断された入力側レバー部材と出力側レバー部材との連繋を継続・遮断切り替えする構成とするとよい。

また、前記入力側レバー部材と出力側レバー部材とは各々一体的に回動する支軸を有し、前記両支軸は軸受け部材によって同軸上に回動自在に軸支されて端面同士が所定間隔を空けて対向配置されており、前記クラッチ機構は、前記端面間に前記支軸の軸方向に沿って移動可能に設けられて両支軸の端面同士を継続する位置と遮断する位置との2つの位置に切り替え移動されるクラッチ板と、そのクラッチ板を前記2つの位置に切り替えて保持する操作手段とを有している構成とすることもできる。

さらに、前記操作手段は、前記支軸の軸方向に移動可能に前記軸受け部材に保持されて設けられ、前記クラッチ板の周縁部に係合してそのクラッチ板を前記継続位置または遮断位置に切り替え移動させるシフター部材と、そのシフター部材の位置を固定して前記クラッチ板を前記継続位置または遮断位置に保持する切り替え位置保持手段とからなる構成とするとよい。

以上の構成に係る本発明によれば、ガゼットの形成が不要な場合には、ガゼット爪に往復移動力を伝達するリンク機構の途中に設けられたクラッチ機構を遮断状態にして、ガゼット爪を筒状フィルム側方の待避位置に後退させておくことで、ガゼット爪を取り外すことなく、これが包装作業の妨げになることを防止しつつ、簡易にそのガセット爪とこれに連なるリンク機構との作動を停止させることができる。そのため無駄にリンク機構の摺動各部を損耗させてしまうことを防止できる。もちろん、ガゼット爪を取り外すようにしてもかまわない。

【発明の実施の形態】
図3は、本発明に係るガゼット形成機構を有したエンドシール装置が取り付けられた自動包装機の一例を示している。同図に示すように、この自動包装機は、ピロー包装機を基本構成としている。つまり、帯状フィルム11は原反ロール12から多数のテンションローラ13を介して連続して引き出され、その途中に配設された製袋器14にて筒状に形成され筒状フィルム15となる。

一方、製袋器14の進行方向後方(上流側)には供給コンベア16が配設され、この供給コンベア16は、その搬出端が製袋器14の入り口近傍に位置するように配置されている。そして、この供給コンベア16は、一対のスプロケット17,17′間に渡設されたエンドレスチェーン18と、このエンドレスチェーン18の所定間隔ごとに配設されたフィンガー19とを備えて構成されている。そして、このフィンガー19にて被包装物20が押送され、上記した筒状フィルム15内に被包装物20が所定間隔ごとに順次移載されるようになっている。

さらに、フィンガー19にて押送された被包装物20は、筒状フィルム15とともに移動し、製袋器14の次段に配設されたセンターシール装置21にて加熱し、移送途中の筒状フィルム15のフィルム重合端22が熱シールされてセンターシールが施される。

そして、センターシールが施された筒状フィルム15は、さらに前進し次段に配設されたエンドシール装置24にて進行方向横方向にシール・カットが施されて包装体3が製造されるようになっている。また、本実施の形態では、エンドシール装置24は、いわゆるボックスモーション型であり、上下一対のエンドシーラ24a,24bがそのシール面を常時対向させた状態のまま所定の軌跡で公転移動し、その移動途中で筒状フィルム15の所定位置をシール並びにカットする。

具体的には、まず、上下の両エンドシーラ24a,24bの対向位置に、筒状フィルム15のエンドシール位置、つまり、被包装物が存在しない部位が来ると、エンドシーラ24a,24bが筒状フィルム15に向けて移動し、上下から挟み込む。次いで、その挟んだ状態を維持しながら一定時間筒状フィルム15の移動に合わせて水平移動する。この移動中、筒状フィルム15を加熱し、確実に熱シールする。そして、その後、上部エンドシーラ24a内に配置したカッターにより、筒状フィルム15の熱シールしたエンドシール部を横方向にカットして、先端(エンドシール装置24の下流側)の筒状フィルムを分離し、包装体25が製造される。その後、両エンドシーラ24a,24bが互いに筒状フィルム15(エンドシール部)から離反するとともに、筒状フィルム15の移動方向と逆方向に移動して元の位置に戻り、次のエンドシール処理に備えるようになっている。

なお、エンドシール装置24を跨ぐとともに、下流側に延びるようにして配置された搬出コンベア26は、エンドシーラ24a,24bの前後進移動に同期して空間部分26aが移動するような動きをし、エンドシール装置24を通過する筒状フィルム15や被包装物がスムーズに移動できるようにしている。係る構成は、通常のピロー包装機と同様である。

そして、本実施の形態では、エンドシール装置24の前後に、ガゼット形成装置30が設けられている。このガゼット形成装置30は、図2に示すように、筒状フィルム15の側面両側に位置するガゼット爪31と、そのガゼット爪31を移動させる駆動力伝達手段(後述)を備えている。

ガゼット爪31は、両エンドシーラ24a,24bに連結され、高さ方向は所望の位置を維持しながら一体に前後進移動する。そして、筒状フィルム15のうち、被包装物が収納されている部分が通過している間は、図示の位置から外側に移動し、その先端31aが筒状フィルム15の側面よりもさらに外側の待機位置に位置している。

そして、図示するように、両エンドシーラ24a,24bの前後にそれぞれ被包装物20が存在し、両エンドシーラ24a,24b間には筒状フィルム15のみが存在するような相対位置関係のときに、各ガゼット爪31が内側(筒状フィルム側)に向かって移動する。そして、その先端31aが筒状フィルム15の側面に接触し、それを内方に押し込むことにより、筒状フィルム15の側面に図示のようなガゼット(折り目)2が形成される。

図4は、ガゼット形成装置30が設けられたエンドシール装置24を示している。図示するように、エンドシール装置24の上下一対のエンドシーラ24a,24bは、エンドシール装置24の機枠241の両側部に設けられた基盤242に軸支された回転軸243にカム244を介して連繋されている。そして、回転軸243が回転すると係るカム244はその回転運動を所定軌跡の公転運動に変換して両エンドシーラ24a,24bに伝達するようになっている。この際、両エンドシーラ24a,24bは、共に鉛直方向を保持されて、互いのシール面が常時対向した状態のまま所定の軌跡で公転移動させられるようになっている。

そして、ガゼット爪31を内外方向に往復直線移動させる駆動力伝達手段は、機械的なリンク機構300から構成される。このリンク機構300は、上記した上側エンドシーラ24aの回転軸243から駆動力を取り出してガゼット爪31を内外方向に移動させるようになっている。すなわち、リンク機構300は、上記回転軸243の軸端部に一体的に取り付けられた円筒溝カム310と、この円筒溝カム310のカム溝311に入力端が係合して揺動する揺動レバー320と、この揺動レバー320の出力端に回動自在にピン結合された連接棒330と、この連接棒330の他端がピン結合されるとともに機枠241にリニアガイド340を介して往復直線移動自在に設けられたスライダー350とから構成される。そして、係るスライダー350に上記ガゼット爪31が取り付けられている。

ところで、本発明では、上記リンク機構300の途中に駆動力の伝達・遮断を行うクラッチ機構400を設けている。そして、本実施の形態にあっては、リンク機構300の上記揺動レバー320を入力側レバー部材320aと出力側レバー部材320bとの2つに分断して分割形成し、係る両レバー部材320a,320b間にその連繋を継続・遮断するクラッチ機構400を組み込んで介在させている。

図5〜図11は、係るクラッチ機構400が組み込まれた揺動レバー320を示している。図示するように、上記揺動レバー320は、支点となる回動支軸部で入力側レバー部材320aと出力側レバー部材320bとに分断されている。そして、入力側レバー部材320aと出力側レバー部材320bとは各々一体的に回動する支軸324,326を有し、両支軸324,326はエンドシール装置24の機枠241に固定される軸受け部材410によって同軸上に回動自在に軸支され、その端面同士が所定間隔を空けて対向配置されている。

上記軸受け部材410は、直方体状を呈した2つの軸受片411,412を連結板413でコ字状に繋いで一体的に形成している。そして、入力側レバー部材320aの軸受片411の方が側方に長く突出させ、係る軸受片411の突出端面がエンドシール装置24の機枠241にボルトで固定されるようになっている。各軸受片411,412は所定の間隔を空けられて対向されており、それぞれ同軸に軸受孔414,415が形成されている。

入力側レバー部材320aは、その一端に円筒溝カム310のカム溝311に係合するカムフォロワ321が取り付けられる。また、他端には回転を規制された支軸322が、上記カムフォロワ321とは反対面側に突出して一体的に設けられている。この支軸322は軸受片411の軸受孔414に外側から回動自在に嵌合挿通されて支持され、係る支軸322の先端には拡径された円盤状の駆動側係合片323が一体的に固着されて取り付けられる。さらに、係る駆動側係合片323の外周部には、入力側レバー部材320aの長手方向を指向する位置に一対の係合凹部324が切り欠き形成されている。

一方、出力側レバー部材320bの一端には、リンク機構300の連接棒330の軸端に取り付けられているピンを係合させるための軸孔325が設けられ、他端には上記と同様に回転を規制された支軸326が突出して一体的に設けられている。この支軸326は軸受片412の軸受孔415に回動自在に嵌合挿通されて支持されるとともに、縮径形成された先端側の小径部327に円盤状の被動側係合片328が一体的に固着されて取り付けられる。さらに、係る被動側係合片328には、出力側レバー部材320bの長手方向と直交する方向を指向する位置に一対の係合突起329が、小径部327と平行に突出形成されている。

クラッチ板420は、上記対向配置される両係合片323,328とほぼ同じ大きさの6角形状をなし、その中心部には上記出力側レバー部材320bの支軸326における小径部327に摺動自在に嵌合する嵌合孔421が設けられている。また、対向する両側辺部分には、上記出力側レバー部材320bの被動側係合片328から突出する係合突起329が係合する係合凹部422が一対で設けられている。さらに、駆動側係合片323に対面するクラッチ板420の板面には、係る駆動側係合片323の係合凹部324に係脱可能に係合する係合突起423が一対で設けられている。

ここで、クラッチ板420は、これを支持する出力側レバー部材320bの小径部327上を、上記係合突起423の突出量以上のストロークで摺動移動可能で、これにより係る係合突起423と係合凹部324との係合が係脱され得るようになっている。一方、出力側レバー部材320bの係合片に形成される係合突起329は常時クラッチ板420の係合凹部422に係合しており、係るクラッチ板420の摺動ストローク以上の突出長を有している。また、さらにクラッチ板420にはその外周部から径方向外方に突出して係合軸424が設けられ、係る係合軸424にはローラ425が取り付けられていて、係るローラ425は下記の操作手段430に係合されるようになっている。

すなわち、この操作手段430は、上記小径部327上のクラッチ板420を軸方向に沿って摺動移動させることにより、クラッチ板420の係合突起423と入力側レバー部材320aの駆動側係合片323における係合凹部324とを係脱させて、クラッチ板420の位置を継続位置と遮断位置との2つのポジションに切り替えシフト操作するものであり、前記両支軸324,326の軸方向に移動可能に前記軸受け部材410に保持されて設けられている。そして、この操作手段430は、前記クラッチ板420の周縁部に係合して係るクラッチ板420を継続位置または遮断位置に切り替え移動させるシフター部材430aと、このシフター部材430aの位置を固定してクラッチ板420を継続位置または遮断位置に保持する切り替え位置保持手段430bとからなる。

そして、係る連結棒433の中央部に切り替え位置保持手段430bが設けられている。この切り替え位置保持手段430bは、ネジ送り機構として機能するネジ付きの回転軸434aを有した操作ノブ434からなる。すなわち、回転軸434aが、連結棒433を貫通して回転自在に挿通され、その先端は軸受け部材410の連結板413の端面に向けて延びている。この操作ノブ434は、連結棒433に対する軸方向への相対移動が、係る連結棒433を挟んで回転軸434aに取り付けられた一対のスリーブ437によって規制されている。また、回転軸434aの先端側にはネジ部434bが形成されていて、係るネジ部434bは連結板413の端面に設けられた雌ねじ部413に螺合されている。つまり、操作ノブ434を回転させてその螺合長を変化させると、シフトプレート431と軸受け部材410との回転軸434a方向に対する相対位置が変化し、これにより移動側であるシフトプレート431、つまりシフター部材430aが軸受け部材410上を揺動レバー320の支軸324,326の軸方向に沿って移動することになる。

クラッチ板420が係る継続位置にあると、クラッチ板420の係合突起423は入力側レバー部材320aの支軸324の軸端に設けられている駆動側係合片323の係合凹部324に係合する。このため、エンドシーラ24aの回転軸に設けられた円筒溝カム310の溝カム311に一端が係合して往復揺動する入力側レバー部材320aの支軸324の揺動回転力が、クラッチ板420に伝わって一体的に揺動回転する。この時、クラッチ板420のローラ425はシフトプレート431の係合溝436内を移動してその揺動が許容される。また、クラッチ板420はその係合凹部422が、出力側レバー部材320bの支軸326の端部に設けられた被動側係合片328の係合突起329に常時係合しているため、係る出力側レバー部材320bも一体的に揺動する。

この出力側レバー部材320bの揺動運動は、その出力端に連結された連接棒330を介してスライダー350に往復直線運動として伝達され、係るスライダー350に取り付けられたガゼット爪31がエンドシーラ24aの公転運動に同期して筒状フィルム15の内外方向に往復移動されることになる。

一方、包装体にガゼットを形成しない場合には、操作手段430の操作ノブ343を上記とは逆方向に回転操作してシフター部材430aの位置を所定の駆動力遮断位置に移動させて、クラッチ板420を駆動力伝達の遮断ポジションに保持する。この遮断ポジションでは、クラッチ板420は出力側レバー部材320bの支軸326の端部に設けられた被動側係合片328側に近接移動されて、入力側レバー部材320aの駆動側係合片323からは離間しており、クラッチ板420の被動側係合突起423は係合片323の係合凹部324から離脱している。

このため、入力側レバー部材320aの揺動運動はクラッチ板420には伝達されず、出力側レバー部材320bとこれに繋がる連接棒330,スライダー350,ガゼット爪31は動作せずに、その作動が停止される。よって、ガゼット爪31の位置を包装作業の妨げにならない側方の待避位置に退けておけば、自動包装機はガゼットのない包装体を支障なく製造し、この間、リンク機構300におけるクラッチ板420以降の動力伝達経路を構成する各機構部品は全く動作されることがないから、これらの機構部品の摺動各部に無駄な損耗が生じることはなく、もって係る駆動伝達手段をなすリンク機構300の耐久性が可及的に向上されるようになる。
