Description
【0001】

TECHNICAL FIELD OF THE INVENTION
[0002]
[Prior art]
In general, a secondary battery unit for an electric vehicle is configured by arranging a plurality of secondary batteries (cells or modules) vertically and horizontally in a case. Conventionally, in order to cool a battery unit in such a case, for example, a cool air inlet for taking in air from a cooling fan is formed in the front of the case, and a wind is generated between battery cells or modules in the case. In general, a configuration is known in which secondary batteries are arranged such that a flow path is formed, and a wind from a cooling fan flows sideways of each secondary battery to cool each battery cell or module. (For example, see Patent Document 1).
[0003]
[Patent Document 1]
JP 2000-294302 A
[Problems to be solved by the invention]
However, in a configuration in which the cooling air sequentially cools each secondary battery from the battery located on the windward side to the battery located on the leeward side, the temperature of the cooling air flowing through the case while cooling each secondary battery is As the temperature rises toward the leeward side, not only does the cooling of the batteries located on the leeward side become insufficient, but also the cooling of the secondary batteries because the cooling air does not hit each secondary battery well In some cases, it was not enough. If the output of the cooling fan is increased to avoid this, the size of the entire apparatus may be increased.
[0005]
Therefore, an object of the present invention is to provide a secondary battery unit that can efficiently cool a secondary battery cell or module stored in a case.
[0006]
[Means for Solving the Problems]
In order to achieve the above object, a secondary battery unit of the present invention is a secondary battery unit that houses a plurality of secondary batteries in a case in which an inlet for introducing cooling air and an outlet for discharging cooling air are formed. The respective secondary batteries are arranged, and a part of a wall surface is formed by joining conductive heat transfer members extending from the inside of the main body of the arranged secondary batteries to the outside to each other. A main flow passage communicating with the inlet and the outlet, at least one partition plate having a communicating portion formed between the main passage and a wall surface of the case, and communicating with the inlet and the outlet. And at least one sub flow path, wherein the main flow path and the sub flow path communicate with each other through the communication portion.
[0007]
The secondary battery unit of the present invention configured as described above has a structure in which the conductive heat transfer members extending from the inside of the main body of each of the arranged secondary batteries to the outside are joined to each other to form one of the wall surfaces of the main flow path. Unit. For example, when the heat transfer member is an electrode terminal of a battery, a cooling wind is applied to the electrode terminal to remove heat generated inside the battery transferred to the electrode terminal and Joule heat generated in the electrode terminal itself. However, in the case of the present invention, since a part of the wall surface of the main flow path can be formed by electrically connecting these electrode terminals, a separate component for blowing cooling air to the electrode terminals is required. And not. Further, the secondary battery unit of the present invention communicates with the inlet and the outlet, has a sub-channel formed by a partition plate having a communicating portion, and has a communicating portion formed in the partition plate. Since the main flow path and the sub flow path are in communication with each other, cooling air can be introduced from the sub flow path side to the main flow path side through the communication portion, so that the temperature increases as the cooling air flows from the introduction port side to the discharge port side. Temperature rise of the cooling air in the main flow path can be suppressed. This makes it possible to suppress imbalance in battery cooling between the upstream side and the downstream side.
[0008]
In the secondary battery unit of the present invention, the partition plate is a double-bottom partition plate that places each secondary battery on the partition plate and forms a first auxiliary flow path with the bottom surface of the case. It may be, the communicating portion of the double bottom partition plate, may be a plurality of holes formed in the double bottom partition plate, or, the double bottom partition plate, for example, a resin mesh, It may be made of a mesh member such as a wire mesh or a punched metal.
[0009]
Further, in the secondary battery unit of the present invention, the communication portion generates a shunt having a flow velocity higher than the flow velocity of the cooling air flowing through the sub flow path in a direction crossing the cooling air flowing through the main flow path, The branch streams may be joined to each other to supply the gaps formed between the heat transfer members, and to apply the split streams to the heat transfer members to cool the heat transfer members.
[0010]
Further, in the secondary battery unit of the present invention, the partition plate may be a control circuit board having a control circuit that forms a second sub-flow path between the partition plate and the upper surface of the case. 【The invention's effect】
As described above, according to the present invention, a part of the wall surface of the main flow path is formed by joining the conductive heat transfer members extending from the inside of the main body of each of the arranged secondary batteries to the outside to each other. As a result, the cooling air can be efficiently applied to the heat transfer member, and the gap formed between the heat transfer members is cooled by the cooling air supplied from the hole of the double bottom partition plate. Since it flows upward at a high speed, the secondary battery can be cooled effectively. As a result, it is possible to suppress a decrease in function and a change in function of the secondary battery due to a rise in the temperature of the secondary battery, and to stabilize the function of the secondary battery unit and extend the life thereof.
[0041]
Further, in the secondary battery unit of the present invention, since the main flow passage and the sub flow passage are communicated by the communication portion formed in the partition plate, the cooling air flows from the sub flow passage to the main flow passage through the communication portion. Therefore, it is possible to suppress an increase in the temperature of the cooling air in the main flow path, which increases in temperature as it flows from the introduction port side to the discharge port side. This makes it possible to suppress imbalance in battery cooling between the upstream side and the downstream side.
[0042]
Furthermore, the present invention that can achieve the above-mentioned effects requires a relatively simple structure for realization, such as not requiring a separate component for blowing cooling air to the heat transfer member, and therefore, the manufacturing is also facilitated.
