Abstract
Description
【0001】

【0079】

TECHNICAL FIELD OF THE INVENTION
The present invention relates to a memory card, and particularly to a memory card suitable for use in a video camera or digital camera capable of exchanging image data by communicating with a video camera or digital camera by a wired or wireless means. About.
[0002]
[Prior art]
2. Description of the Related Art Conventionally, as an image recording / reproducing apparatus that records a moving image, a still image, and the like and reproduces the recorded image, a digital VTR that converts an image signal into a digital signal and sequentially records the digital signal on a magnetic tape is known. .
[0003]
On the other hand, in order to further facilitate data handling, digital VTRs and digital cameras capable of recording moving images and still images have also been developed and widely used on random access media such as a memory card. It is getting.
[0004]
In these digital video recording systems, an input digital signal is subjected to compression processing in order to reduce the amount of information, so that a large amount of image information and still image information can be recorded with a small storage capacity. There are various compression methods for such an image recording / reproducing apparatus.
[0005]
For example, in the DCT method, an image is divided into a plurality of blocks, an orthogonal transform is performed for each block, and each coefficient is rounded to a predetermined number of bits for quantization. In this case, since the image information is biased toward the low band, the data amount can be reduced by reducing the number of bits of the high frequency component.
[0006]
There is also a method in which quantization is performed after sub-banding using a wavelet transform instead of the DCT method. In addition to this, there is also a method of performing efficient data compression by performing variable length coding such as Huffman coding and allocating a shorter length code to a bit sequence having a higher probability of occurrence. Are known.
[0007]
Furthermore, when compressing a moving image, it is necessary to take advantage of the fact that the image of the moving image has a strong correlation between frames, and to extract a difference between frames to greatly reduce the amount of data. The method of making it possible has been put to practical use.
[0008]
Compression of moving images and still images by combining various compression techniques as described above to reduce the amount of data before recording on a random access medium such as a semiconductor memory card, solid-state magnetic disk memory, or optical disk memory This is a general digital image recording system in recent years.
[0009]
In recording such digitally compressed moving image data and still image data in a semiconductor memory card, data communication is performed with a control circuit on the semiconductor memory card to record and reproduce images. . In addition, since the amount of data that can be recorded on a single semiconductor memory card is limited, it is common to freely replace and use a plurality of semiconductor memory cards.
[0010]
For this reason, video cameras and digital cameras have a structure in which a card slot serving as a communication connector is provided so that a semiconductor memory card can be freely inserted and removed. By inserting and using one arbitrary semiconductor memory card from a plurality of cards in this card slot, communication with a target card is performed, and moving image and still image data can be recorded. , And can be read.
[0011]
[Problems to be solved by the invention]
However, as described above, when data of moving images and still images is recorded on a plurality of semiconductor memory cards, the contents written on each memory card must be inserted one by one into the card slot. There was a disadvantage that the contents could not be confirmed.
[0012]
SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION It is an object of the present invention to solve the above-mentioned drawbacks and to make it possible to easily check written contents without inserting a memory card into a card slot.
