Abstract
Description
【0001】

【0043】
<耐久性>
【0044】
<耐食性>

【Example】
An iron-type golf club head having the basic form shown in FIGS. 3 and 7 was prototyped according to the specifications shown in Table 1. The configuration shown in FIG. 3 was set at a loft angle of 25 °, and the configuration shown in FIG. 7 was set at a loft angle of 45 °. In each example, the head body is a cast product of stainless steel (SUS630: specific gravity 7.8), and the face plate is a rolled material of 3.0 mm thickness made of titanium alloy (Ti-6Al-4V: specific gravity 4.5). used. The composition of SUS630 is Si: 1.0 wt%, Mn: 1.0 wt%, Ni: 5.0 wt%, Cr: 16.0 wt%, Fe: 77.0 wt%.
The features of the comparative example and the example are as follows.
[0038]
<Comparative Example 1>
The structure has the basic form of FIG. 3 but is not provided with a weight member (that is, the portion shown as the weight member of FIG. 3 is made of SUS630).
<Comparative example 2>
As shown in Table 1, the weight member has the basic form of FIG. 3 and is formed of a sintered alloy mainly composed of W.
<Comparative Example 3>
As shown in Table 1, the weight member has the basic form shown in FIG.
<Comparative example 4>
As shown in Table 1, the weight member is formed of a sintered alloy mainly composed of W as shown in Table 1.
<Comparative Example 5>
The structure has the basic form of FIG. 7 but is not provided with a weight member (that is, the portion shown as the weight member of FIG. 7 is made of SUS630).
[0039]
<Examples 1-3>
It has the basic form of FIG. As shown in Table 1, the weight member changes the blending amounts of W and Fe.
<Example 4>
It has the basic form of FIG. The specific gravity of the weight member is the smallest among the examples.
[0040]
For the above test heads, the height of the sweet spot point and the depth of the center of gravity were measured, and durability and corrosion resistance were tested to compare the performance. The measuring method is as follows.
[0041]
<Height of sweet spot point>
The head was placed on a horizontal plane at a specified lie angle and loft angle, and the vertical height from the horizontal plane to the sweet spot point was measured. The sweet spot point is a point where a normal drawn perpendicularly to the face surface from the center of gravity of the head intersects the face surface.
[0042]
<Depth of center of gravity>
The depth of the center of gravity of the head was measured as the distance between the center of gravity of the head and the sweet spot point where the normal line drawn perpendicularly from the center of gravity to the face surface intersects the face surface.
[0043]
<Durability>
Each test head is equipped with the same FRP shaft (MP-100 Flex S, manufactured by Sumitomo Rubber Industries), and a 38-inch iron-type golf club is prototyped. The club is also a swing robot (Miyamae, durability test). Attached to the machine robot 3), the head speed was adjusted to 40 m / s, and 1000 solid golf balls were hit with a sweet spot, and the state of the joint between the weight member and the head body was visually observed.
[0044]
<Corrosion resistance>
A salt spray test for 12 hours with a 5% NaCl solution was performed, and the sample was left in the atmosphere for 12 hours after spraying, and the surface of the weight member was observed by visual inspection. The case where no rust was generated was OK, and the case where rust was partially generated was NG. As a test apparatus, an ISO-3-CY / R type salt dry / wet combined cycle tester manufactured by Suga Test Instruments Co., Ltd. was used. Table 1 shows the test results.
[0045]
[Table 1]
[0046]
As a result of the test, it can be confirmed that the examples have superior corrosion resistance as compared with the comparative examples. In particular, in Comparative Example 1, the sweet spot height is large because there is no weight member. Further, in Comparative Example 2, the specific gravity is too large and sufficient fixing strength is not obtained. In Comparative Example 3, although Fe had a low center of gravity, there was a lot of Fe and rust was generated. In Comparative Example 4, it is considered that the dimensional accuracy of the weight member is poor and the mounting strength is insufficient. In Comparative Example 5, the individual center of gravity is too low, which is not preferable.
[0047]
【The invention's effect】
As described above, in the first aspect of the present invention, the head body made of the first metal material and the weight made of the second metal material fixed to the head body and having a specific gravity greater than that of the first metal material. And the second metal material includes W: 20 to 30 wt%, Ni: 25 to 40 wt%, Fe: 20 to 40 wt%, Cr: 2 to 8 wt%, and It is formed with a specific gravity of 8.0 to 15.0. Such a weight member can improve corrosion resistance. Therefore, productivity can be improved by eliminating the need for a plating process or the like. Further, since the weight member having the above composition is suitable for casting, a complicated shape can be easily and mass-produced. Further, since it can be easily fixed by welding to a stainless steel or iron-based head main body, when the fixing is welded as in the invention of
[0048]
According to a third aspect of the present invention, when the weight member is disposed across the sole portion of the head body having an iron shape and the back wall portion rising on the rear end side of the sole portion, The sweet spot height can be reduced by lowering the center of gravity, and the center of gravity of the head is positioned rearward to help increase the depth of the center of gravity. This makes it possible to provide a head that easily raises the ball and has excellent directionality.
[0049]
According to a fourth aspect of the present invention, the head body has an iron shape in which a face plate made of a third metal material is fixed to a front portion, and at least a part of the weight member is the face plate. When it is held between the back surface of the head and the head main body, it is possible to more firmly fix and further improve the durability.
[0050]
According to a fifth aspect of the present invention, the head body has an opening at the front and an inner peripheral surface that contacts the outer peripheral surface of the face plate around the opening, and a rear of the inner peripheral surface. A face mounting portion having an end side extending to the center side of the face and a receiving surface supporting the peripheral edge of the back surface of the face plate; and the weight member is formed at a center of gravity of the head when forming a part of the receiving surface. The position can be adjusted more reliably.
