BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION
The present invention belongs to a technical field of inspection (QC (Quality Control)) of a radiation image reading apparatus that reads a radiation image photographed on a stimulable phosphor sheet, and more specifically, the inspection of the radiation image reading apparatus is efficiently performed. And a radiation image reading system using the QC phantom.
[0002]
[Prior art]
When irradiated with radiation (X-rays, α-rays, β-rays, γ-rays, electron beams, ultraviolet rays, etc.), a part of this radiation energy is accumulated, and then irradiated with excitation light such as visible light, Phosphors that exhibit photostimulated luminescence according to the stored energy are known. This phosphor is called a storage phosphor (stimulable phosphor) and is used for various applications such as medical applications.
[0003]
As an example, a radiation image (information) using a stimulable phosphor sheet (also referred to as a stimulable phosphor sheet (panel)) having this stimulable phosphor film (hereinafter referred to as a phosphor film). ) A recording / reproducing system is known, and has been put into practical use, for example, as an FCR (Fuji Computed Radiography) manufactured by Fuji Photo Film Co., Ltd.
In this system, the phosphor sheet is usually stored in a light-shielding case called a cassette and irradiated with X-rays or the like through a subject such as a human body, whereby the radiation of the subject is applied to the phosphor sheet (phosphor film). Take a picture. After photographing, the phosphor sheet is two-dimensionally scanned with excitation light such as laser light to generate stimulated emission, and this stimulated emission light is photoelectrically read to obtain an image signal. Based on this image signal The reproduced image is output as a radiographic image of a subject to a display device such as a CRT or a recording material such as a photographic photosensitive material.
[0004]
In such a radiographic image recording / reproducing system, if the quality of the reproduced radiographic image is poor, an appropriate diagnosis cannot be performed efficiently, and a serious problem that leads to a misdiagnosis occurs. Therefore, a radiographic image reading apparatus (hereinafter referred to as a reading apparatus) that reads a radiographic image (information) taken by IP is required to be able to read a radiographic image with appropriate accuracy and reproduce a high-quality image.
In order to satisfy such requirements, various inspections and adjustments of the reading device, that is, QC (quality control) of the reading device (radiation image recording / reproducing system) are performed by an operator or a service person in a hospital or the like.
[0005]
For example, in Patent Document 1, an image for inspection such as a CTF chart or a solid image of a predetermined dose is photographed on a phosphor sheet, the radiation image is read by a reading device to be inspected, and from the obtained image data, An inspection method is disclosed in which a performance value (sharpness, S / N ratio, sensitivity, etc.) of a reading device is calculated, and the performance value is converted into a performance value under a standard condition to evaluate the performance of the image reading device. ing.
Further, in Patent Document 2, a geometric dimension inspection mark is put in a cassette containing a phosphor sheet, a radiographic image is taken on the phosphor sheet using this cassette, an image is reproduced, and a reproduced image is obtained. It is disclosed that the geometric dimension accuracy of the reader is inspected from the geometric dimension of the mark.
[0006]
Furthermore, a so-called QC phantom (test target) is also known in which a pattern for performing various inspections such as sharpness, spatial resolution, and sensitivity is formed on a substrate in order to inspect a reading device. For example, Patent Document 3 and Patent Document 4 disclose a QC phantom in which various inspection patterns are formed so that inspection of a reading apparatus can be performed in a composite manner.
The inspection of the reading device using the QC phantom is, for example, taking a radiographic image of the QC phantom, reading the radiographic image with the reading device to be inspected, and calculating the image (image data) for image quality evaluation ( (QC calculation) is performed.

[Problems to be solved by the invention]
However, in the inspection of the reading device disclosed therein, it is necessary for the operator to input the inspection to be performed and the QC calculation method according to the inspection to be performed using a keyboard or the like, which is troublesome and inefficient. In addition, proper inspection may not be possible due to an input error.
[0009]
An object of the present invention is to solve the above-described problems of the prior art, and to efficiently inspect a radiation image reading apparatus regardless of the type of QC phantom used for the inspection and the inspection performed in accordance therewith. It is an object of the present invention to provide a QC phantom that can be used, and a radiation image reading system that uses the QC phantom.
[0010]
[Means for Solving the Problems]
In order to achieve the above object, a QC phantom of the present invention is a QC phantom for inspecting a radiation image reading apparatus, and includes at least one image quality evaluation pattern and identification information for identifying the type of the QC phantom. There is provided a QC phantom characterized by having holding means.
In such a QC phantom of the present invention, it is preferable that the holding unit further holds information related to the image quality evaluation pattern for at least one of the image quality evaluation patterns. It is preferable that the image quality evaluation pattern calibration value information and information regarding the position of the image quality evaluation pattern. The holding means is preferably at least one of an IC memory and a barcode.
[0011]
The radiological image reading system of the present invention includes the QC phantom of the present invention, a reading unit that reads the holding unit of the QC phantom, an image reading device that reads a radiographic image captured on a radiographic imaging medium, The type of the QC phantom is identified from the identification information of the QC phantom read by the reading unit, and the image quality corresponding to the identified type of the QC phantom is detected in the radiographic image read by the image reading device from the imaging medium on which the QC phantom is imaged. There is provided a radiation image reading system including a QC tool for performing an evaluation calculation.
In such a radiation image reading system of the present invention, the holding unit of the QC phantom further holds at least one calibration value information of the image quality evaluation pattern, and the QC tool stores the calibration value information. Preferably, the radiation image is corrected using the image quality evaluation calculation.

Alternatively, like so-called lead characters, identification information is recorded in a radiographic image capturing area using a substance that can be recorded as a radiographic image, and when the QC phantom is imaged, the identification information is simultaneously recorded on the IP. [0044]
In the radiographic image reading system, the reading device is required to have a performance corresponding to the diagnosis to be performed and the imaging region, and therefore it is preferable that the inspection item (QC) of the reading device is also inspected according to the use of the reading device. . Therefore, as a matter of course, it is preferable to use a QC phantom that suitably corresponds to the inspection items and required accuracy corresponding to the reading device.
Of course, it may be necessary to conduct a more precise inspection than usual. In this case, as described above, a corresponding inspection such as a QC phantom dedicated to linearity inspection having finer step wedges or a QC phantom dedicated to sharpness inspection having edges capable of measuring sharpness in multiple directions. It is preferable to use a QC phantom capable of carrying out a precise inspection corresponding to a dedicated or a small number of inspection items.
That is, in the radiographic image reading system, it is preferable to prepare various types of QC phantoms according to the type of inspection to be performed by the reading device, and perform inspection using the QC phantom most suitable for the reading device. . Of course, different types of QC phantoms have different QC operations.
[0045]
As described above, in the inspection of the conventional reader, it is necessary for the operator to input the inspection items to be performed, the QC calculation method, etc., which is troublesome and inefficient, and an appropriate inspection cannot be performed due to an input error. In some cases. In particular, as described above, in a system having a large number of QC phantoms, time and input errors are naturally increased.
On the other hand, as is clear from the above description, according to the QC phantom and the radiographic image reading system of the present invention, it is not necessary to input inspection items and calculations by the operator, and corresponds to the inspection performed by the reader. QC calculation according to the QC phantom to be used can be performed automatically. Furthermore, it is also possible to hold the calibration value information in the QC phantom and automatically perform the calculation with the calibrated image data. Even in a system having a large number of QC phantoms, the inspection (ie, QC) of the reader can be performed very efficiently.

In the above example, the

In this case, in order to enable automatic recognition, it is preferable that the information is formed at the same position regardless of the type of the
[0049]
The above example is an example in which the present invention is used in a system using IP. However, the present invention is not limited to this, and can be used in various radiographic image recording / reproducing systems. As described above, the present invention can be suitably used for a system that uses an FPD (flat panel detector) instead of IP.
[0050]
When the present invention is applied to a system using an FPD, for example, when registering a QC menu using a console, in addition to reading the IC memory 44 (holding means) of the
[0051]
Although the QC phantom and the radiation image reading system of the present invention have been described in detail above, the present invention is not limited to the above-described embodiments, and various modifications and improvements can be made without departing from the scope of the present invention. Of course it is good.
For example, in the QC phantom of the present invention, an IC memory and a plurality of holding means such as a barcode may be used in combination as the holding means of the identification means for identifying the type of QC phantom.
[0052]
【The invention's effect】
As described above in detail, according to the present invention, in the radiation image reading system, the inspection (QC) of the radiation image reading apparatus can be efficiently performed, and in a hospital or the like using the radiation image recording / reproducing system, An accurate radiographic image diagnosis can be stably performed by the radiographic image reading apparatus appropriately managed.
