Abstract
Description
【0001】

TECHNICAL FIELD OF THE INVENTION
The present invention relates to a switching power supply. Specifically, when the input voltage does not reach a predetermined voltage at the start of driving of the switching element, the driving of the switching element is stopped.
[0002]
[Prior art]
When portable electronic products are used in places where the commercial power supply voltage is different, for example, when domestic equipment is used overseas, and when the equipment side does not support the commercial power supply voltage of each country, it is called a travel converter etc. It uses a small, lightweight electronic transformer to convert the voltage, and it is said that domestic equipment can be used overseas.
[0003]
The output voltage waveform and the output current waveform of the electronic transformer are in a pulse form, for example, as shown in FIG. When the power supplied to the load is large, the output voltage waveform and the output current waveform are as shown in FIG. 4, and the pulse width is wider and the peak voltage value and the peak current value are higher than those in FIG. 3 and 4 are for explaining the output waveform, and the peak value and the pulse width are exemplary.
[0004]
When such a pulse-shaped waveform voltage is supplied to the switching power supply, a large rush current flows through the components of the switching power supply, for example, a line filter transformer provided at the input stage, and the amount of heat generated by the line filter transformer increases. In some cases. For this reason, as shown in Patent Document 1, a line filter transformer is provided with a temperature detecting element such as a temperature fuse, and the operation of the device is stopped when the temperature of the line filter transformer reaches a certain temperature or higher. Is performed. Another method is to install a fuse on the input side of the line filter transformer and blow the fuse with an excessive current that flows when a short circuit occurs in the line filter transformer due to a rise in temperature. It is also possible to stop it.

[Problems to be solved by the invention]
By the way, when protection is performed using a thermal fuse or a fuse, if the thermal fuse or the fuse is blown, the replacement of the line filter transformer integrated with the thermal fuse or the replacement of the fuse and the line filter transformer is completed. The equipment cannot be used.
[0007]
Accordingly, the present invention provides a switching power supply that can prevent excessive heat generation of components when connected to an electronic transformer.
[0008]
[Means for Solving the Problems]
A switching power supply according to the present invention is a switching power supply that converts an input voltage to a desired voltage and outputs the same by driving the switching element, and when the input voltage does not reach a predetermined voltage at the start of driving of the switching element. And control means for stopping the driving of the switching element.
[0009]
According to the present invention, when the switching power supply is started to be driven, when the input voltage has not reached a predetermined ratio with respect to the minimum value of the commercial power supply voltage that can be supplied to the switching power supply, the driving stop state of the switching element is maintained.

【The invention's effect】
According to the present invention, the control means for stopping the driving of the switching element when the input voltage has not reached the predetermined voltage at the start of the driving of the switching element is provided.
For this reason, when the electronic transformer and the switching power supply are connected, the input voltage does not reach the predetermined voltage, so that the driving of the switching element remains stopped, which can prevent heat generation of parts and blow out the thermal fuse and the like. Can also be prevented. Also, when the commercial power is supplied to the switching power supply without passing through the electronic transformer, the input voltage reaches a predetermined voltage, so that the switching element is driven to supply power to the load at a desired voltage. It can be carried out.
