Abstract
Description
【0001】

【0035】
CmHn+(m/2)O2→mCO+(n/2)H2 (1)
【0038】
CmHn+mH2O→mCO+(m+(n/2))H2 (2)
CO+H2O→CO2+H2 (3)

In a fuel cell system using such a fuel cell, it is necessary to supply hydrogen as a fuel to the fuel cell stack. However, a method of supplying hydrogen from a high-pressure hydrogen tank or a liquid hydrogen tank, natural gas, alcohol, or gasoline There is a method of generating and supplying hydrogen by reforming a hydrocarbon-based fuel such as the above. In the latter case, in the fuel cell system, it is necessary to purify hydrogen by separating hydrogen from the reformed gas.
[0004]
As a method for extracting hydrogen from such a reformed gas, a method using a hydrogen separation membrane made of, for example, palladium or a palladium alloy is known (for example, see Patent Document 1 below).
[0005]
In Patent Document 1, a hydrogen separation membrane having a property of selectively permeating hydrogen is formed on a base material made of a porous body that generates heat when energized, and hydrogen is extracted using the hydrogen separation membrane. A hydrogen extraction device is disclosed. In other words, this hydrogen extraction apparatus uses a hydrogen separation membrane as a membrane that divides a supply side to which a reformed gas containing hydrogen is supplied and a permeation side through which hydrogen passes, and supplies the reformed gas to a gas supply unit. In addition, the hydrogen is selectively permeated by the hydrogen separation membrane to extract hydrogen to the hydrogen permeable side.
[0006]
Here, in this hydrogen extraction device, a hydrogen separation membrane is formed on a base material made of a porous body, and when hydrogen is extracted from the reformed gas by the hydrogen separation membrane, the hydrogen separation membrane is energized. This causes the substrate to generate heat, thereby heating the hydrogen separation membrane. As described above, this hydrogen extraction device can heat the hydrogen separation membrane, so that when using a hydrogen separation membrane having a property that the hydrogen permeation amount depends on the temperature, it is possible to stabilize the performance of the hydrogen separation membrane. it can.

[0008]
[Problems to be solved by the invention]
By the way, the hydrogen extraction device described in Patent Document 1 described above becomes brittle when the reformed gas is brought into direct contact with the hydrogen separation membrane. This is to heat the film.
[0009]
However, such a hydrogen extraction device requires a power supply to heat the hydrogen separation membrane, and thus requires a battery and some kind of power supply system. Therefore, in this hydrogen extraction device, it is necessary to use extra electric energy in addition to power generation of the fuel cell and driving of the load, and there is a problem that the energy use efficiency is reduced.
[0010]
Therefore, the present invention has been proposed in view of the above-described circumstances, and when using a hydrogen separation membrane to purify hydrogen from a reformed gas containing hydrogen, without using extra electric energy, An object of the present invention is to provide a hydrogen purification system capable of preventing embrittlement of a hydrogen separation membrane.
[0011]
[Means for Solving the Problems]
In the present invention, the reforming reactor for reforming the fuel and the hydrogen separation membrane are connected in series, and at startup, the reforming gas contained in the reformed gas generated by the reforming reactor is supplied to the hydrogen separation membrane. The above-described problem is solved by controlling the ratio of the concentration value of hydrogen to the concentration value of carbon monoxide to a predetermined value at which embrittlement of the hydrogen separation membrane occurs.
[0012]
【The invention's effect】
According to the hydrogen purification system of the present invention, at the time of startup, the ratio of the concentration value of hydrogen supplied to the hydrogen separation membrane from the reforming reactor to the concentration value of carbon monoxide is determined by a predetermined value at which embrittlement of the hydrogen separation membrane occurs. By controlling to a lower value, it is not necessary to use extra electric energy for heating the hydrogen separation membrane, and it is possible to prevent embrittlement of the hydrogen separation membrane.
[0013]
BEST MODE FOR CARRYING OUT THE INVENTION
Hereinafter, specific embodiments to which the present invention is applied will be described in detail with reference to the drawings.
[0014]
This embodiment is, for example, a fuel cell that is mounted on a fuel cell vehicle and supplies power to a drive motor mounted as a load and auxiliary equipment for generating power to the fuel cell stack, thereby generating a driving torque for driving the vehicle. The hydrogen purification system is mounted on a battery system or the like, and purifies hydrogen as a fuel gas supplied to the fuel cell system. This hydrogen purification system purifies hydrogen from a reformed gas using a hydrogen separation membrane, and hydrogen (H) contained in the reformed gas and supplied to the hydrogen separation membrane is used. 2 ) And the concentration value of carbon monoxide (CO) (hydrogen concentration value / carbon monoxide concentration value) are reduced to a predetermined value, thereby making the hydrogen separation membrane without complicating the existing system at all. Can be prevented from being embrittled.
[0015]
[Concept of embrittlement prevention of hydrogen separation membrane]
First, prior to the description of the hydrogen purification system, a concept for preventing embrittlement of the hydrogen separation membrane will be described.
[0016]
When exposed to hydrogen at a low temperature, the hydrogen separation membrane has a property of causing a phase change due to hydrogen absorption and embrittlement. Therefore, when purifying hydrogen using such a hydrogen separation membrane, when the temperature of the hydrogen separation membrane is increased, the temperature supplied to the hydrogen separation membrane is increased while shutting off the hydrogen supplied thereto. This is commonly done.
[0017]
Here, attention is paid to carbon monoxide present in the reformed gas supplied to the hydrogen separation membrane. When carbon monoxide is present in the reformed gas, the carbon monoxide adheres to the surface of the hydrogen separation membrane at a low temperature. Therefore, when carbon monoxide is present in the reformed gas, even if hydrogen is present in the reformed gas, it may not be possible to contact the surface of the hydrogen separation membrane. Below, if the hydrogen concentration value is equal to or less than a predetermined value with respect to the carbon monoxide concentration value, embrittlement of the hydrogen separation membrane does not occur.
[0018]
The range between the hydrogen concentration value and the carbon monoxide concentration value at which such embrittlement of the hydrogen separation membrane does not occur has been determined by experiments. FIG. 1 shows the hydrogen concentration in the presence of carbon monoxide that does not cause embrittlement of the hydrogen separation membrane. In FIG. 1, the ordinate indicates the concentration of carbon monoxide in the reformed gas, and the abscissa indicates the hydrogen concentration in the reformed gas. According to FIG. 1, it can be seen that the limit value of the hydrogen concentration at which the hydrogen separation membrane does not cause embrittlement is almost proportional to the carbon monoxide concentration. It can be seen that embrittlement can be prevented. Specifically, the concentration ratio of hydrogen and carbon monoxide that does not cause embrittlement of the hydrogen separation membrane (hydrogen concentration value / carbon monoxide concentration value) is, for example, 10 or less.
[0019]
Therefore, the hydrogen purification system controls the concentration ratio of hydrogen and carbon monoxide (hydrogen concentration value / carbon monoxide concentration value) to utilize the effect of preventing carbon monoxide from adhering hydrogen to the hydrogen separation membrane. To prevent embrittlement of the hydrogen separation membrane.
