【発明の実施の形態】
以下、本発明に従って構成されたスターリングエンジンの好適実施形態を図示している添付図面を参照して、更に詳細に説明する。

図1には、本発明に従って構成されたスターリングエンジンの第1の実施形態が示されている。
図1に示す実施形態のスターリングエンジンは、ディスプレーサ機構2を具備している。ディスプレーサ機構2は、一対のディスプレーサシリンダ21a、21bと、該一対のディスプレーサシリンダ21a、21b内にそれぞれ摺動可能に配設された一対のディスプレーサ22a、22bと、該一対のディスプレーサ22a、22bの作動に伴って流動する作動気体が流出入する一対の膨張室23a、23bおよび一対の収縮室24a、24bとからなっている。一対のディスプレーサシリンダ21a、21bはアルミ合金等によって形成され、支持枠体3によって互いに連結されている。一対のディスプレーサシリンダ21a、21bの一対の膨張室23a、23b側の端部は図示しない適宜の加熱手段によって加熱されるようになっている。また、一対のディスプレーサシリンダ21a、21bの一対の収縮室24a、24b側の端部は、自然冷却でもよいが適宜の冷却手段によって冷却することが望ましい。このように構成された一対のディスプレーサシリンダ21a、21b内および後述する作動気体回路内には、水素やヘリウム等の比熱の小さい作動気体が封入される。上記一対のディスプレーサ22a、22bは比重が小さい材料によって円筒状に形成され、一対のディスプレーサシリンダ21a、21bの内周面との間に所定の隙間を有して摺動可能に構成されている。この一対のディスプレーサ22a、22bがそれぞれ一対のディスプレーサシリンダ21a、21b内を図において上下方向に作動することにより、作動気体が上記隙間を通してそれぞれ一対の収縮室24a、24bと一対の膨張室23a、23bに流出入するようになっている。

図1に示すスターリングエンジンは、ディスプレーサ作動機構4により上記一対のディスプレーサ22a、22bを互いに180度の位相差をもって作動することによって駆動される。一対のディスプレーサ22a、22bが図1において実線で示す状態においては、一方のディスプレーサ22aが下死点に位置し、他方のディスプレーサ22bが上死点に位置している。この状態においては、一方のディスプレーサシリンダ21aの一方の膨張室23a内の作動気体が加熱されされて膨張し、他方のディスプレーサシリンダ21bの他方の収縮室24b内の作動気体が冷却されて収縮する。従って、一方のディスプレーサシリンダ21aの一方の膨張室23a内で膨張せしめられた作動気体がディスプレーサシリンダ21aとディスプレーサ22aとの間の隙間を通して一方の収縮室24aに流入し、更に第1の流入通路51および第1の逆止弁71を通してベーンモータ6の流入口61からベーンモータ6に流入する。この結果、ベーンモータ6が回転駆動される。ベーンモータ6を回転駆動した作動気体は、ベーンモータ6の流出口62から第4の逆止弁74および第4の流入通路54を通して、他方のディスプレーサシリンダ21bの他方の収縮室24b内に流入する。

上述したように作動気体が流動している際に、ディスプレーサ作動機構4により一対のディスプレーサ22a、22bも作動せしめられており、図1において2点鎖線で示す位置、即ち一方のディスプレーサ22aが上死点に位置し、他方のディスプレーサ22bが下死点に位置付けられる。一対のディスプレーサ22a、22bが図1において2点鎖線で示す位置に位置付けられた状態においては、一方の膨張室23a内の作動気体は一方の収縮室24aに流入し、他方の収縮室24b内の作動気体は他方の膨張室24aに流入する。この結果、他方のディスプレーサシリンダ21bの他方の膨張室23b内の作動気体が加熱されされて膨張し、一方のディスプレーサシリンダ21aの一方の収縮室24a内の作動気体が冷却されて収縮する。従って、他方のディスプレーサシリンダ21bの他方の膨張室23b内で膨張せしめられた作動気体が他方のディスプレーサシリンダ21bとディスプレーサ22bとの間の隙間を通して他方の収縮室24bに流入し、更に第3の流入通路55および第3の逆止弁73を通してベーンモータ6の流入口61からベーンモータ6に流入する。この結果、ベーンモータ6が回転駆動される。ベーンモータ6を回転駆動した作動気体は、ベーンモータ6の流出口62から第2の逆止弁72および第2の流入通路52を通して、一方のディスプレーサシリンダ21aの他方の収縮室24a内に流入する。

図2に示す第2の実施形態におけるスターリングエンジンのディスプレーサ作動機構40は、両端に互いに180度の位相差をもって設けられた一対のクランクジャーナル42a、42bを装着した駆動軸46と、該駆動軸46に装着されたプーリー47と、流体回転機としてのベーンモータ6の回転軸63に装着されたプーリー48と、該プーリー48とプーリー47とに捲回されたベルト49とからなっている。このように構成されたディスプレーサ作動機構40は、スターリングエンジンの始動時には他の作動手段によって駆動軸46を作動する。そして、上述した第1の実施形態のようにベーンモータ6が回転せしめられると、この回転が回転軸63、プーリー48、ベルト49、プーリー47、駆動軸46、一対のクランクジャーナル42a、42b、一対の連結ロッド43a、43b、一対の連結機構44a、44b、一対のディスプレーサロッド45a、45bを介して一対のディスプレーサ22a、22bに伝達され、一対のディスプレーサロッド45a、45bは互いに180度の位相差をもって図において上下方向に作動せしめる。

図3に示す第3の実施形態においては、流体回転機としてタービン8の流体入口81が第1の流入通路51と第2の流入通路53に連通され、タービン8の流体出口82が第1の流出通路52と第2の流出通路54に連通されている。そして、タービン8の回転軸83に永久磁石式の発電機9が配設されている。このように構成された第3の実施形態におけるスターリングエンジンは、ディスプレーサ作動機構4により上記一対のディスプレーサ22a、22bを互いに180度の位相差をもって作動することによって駆動される。そして、上述した第1の実施形態と同様に一方のディスプレーサシリンダ21aの一方の収縮室24aから流出される作動気体と他方のディスプレーサシリンダ21bの収縮室24bから流出される作動気体が交互にタービン8の流入口81からタービン8に流入し、流出口82を通して流通することにより、タービン8が回転駆動される。このようにタービン8が回転することにより、タービン8の回転軸83に取り付けられた発電機9が駆動され、作動気体が膨張せしめられたエネルギーは発電機9によって発電される電力によって回収される。

本発明によるスターリングエンジンは以上のように構成され、作動気体によって流体回転機を駆動するので、流体回転機は無限ストロークであるため、作動気体の膨張分を全て回収することができ、熱効率の良いスターリングエンジンを得ることができる。
