Abstract
Description
【0001】
ADSL(Asymmetric Digital Subscriber Line)、FTTH(Fiber To The Home)などのブロードバンドアクセスに対する要望も急速に高まってきている。
【0003】
および「IPACT:A Dynamic Protocol for an Ethernet(R) PON」(Glen Kramer他、pp74-80,IEEE Commun,Feb.2002.)(以下、第2の先行技術と呼ぶ。)がある。
【0004】

TECHNICAL FIELD OF THE INVENTION
The present invention relates to a PON (Passive Optical Network) which is a shared media type communication in which a plurality of home-side devices share a medium and transmit data, and in particular, an EPON (Ethernet) for transmitting data as an Ethernet (R) frame. (R) PON) and a method of transmitting an OLT frame.

[Prior art]
2. Description of the Related Art In recent years, the Internet has become widespread, and users can access various types of information on sites operated around the world and obtain the information. Accordingly, demands for broadband access such as ADSL (Asymmetric Digital Subscriber Line) and FTTH (Fiber To The Home) are rapidly increasing.
[0003]
As prior art related to this, Japanese Patent Publication No. 11-888292 (hereinafter referred to as a first prior art) and "IPACT: A Dynamic Protocol for an Ethernet (R) PON" (Glen Kramer et al., Pp74-pp. 80, IEEE Commun, Feb. 2002.) (hereinafter referred to as a second prior art).

[0008]
[Problems to be solved by the invention]
In the first prior art described above, a buffer memory is provided in the main device. The reason is that the main signal is input irrespective of the access control, and it is necessary to insert a control frame between the main signals and transmit it to the PON section. Is required. However, since the buffer memory is expensive, the first prior art has a problem that the system cost is high.
[0009]
Further, in the second prior art described above, a technique related to a distributed allocation scheme is disclosed, but since a special mechanism related to a control frame is not provided, the problem that occurs in the first prior art is solved. I can't.
[0010]
SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION The present invention has been made to solve the above problems, and an object of the present invention is to eliminate the conventionally required buffer and to reduce the cost of the optical line terminal and the transmission of frames. Is to provide a way.
[0011]
[Means for Solving the Problems]
An optical line terminal according to a first aspect of the present invention transmits and receives a frame to and from an optical network unit and a first communication unit for transmitting and receiving a frame to and from an upper-level switch. Communication means for generating a first frame addressed to itself, a control means for causing the first communication means to transmit the first frame to the upper-level switch, and a second communication means for receiving the first frame. Rewriting means for rewriting the first frame into a second frame addressed to the optical network unit, and causing the second communication means to transmit the second frame to the optical network unit.
[0012]
The control means generates a first frame addressed to itself and transmits it to the upper-level switch, and the rewrite means rewrites the first frame received from the upper-level switch into a second frame addressed to the optical network unit and performs optical subscription. Since the transmission is performed to the customer line termination device, it is possible to eliminate the buffer conventionally required and reduce the cost.
[0013]
An optical line terminal according to a second aspect is the optical line terminal according to the first aspect, wherein the control means stores information to be stored in the first frame in the first frame. The information is transferred to the rewriting means without storing the information, and the rewriting means, when rewriting the first frame received by the first communication means to the second frame, transfers the information transferred from the control means to the second frame. 2 is stored in the second frame.
[0014]
Therefore, the rewriting means can rewrite the first frame into the second frame simply by storing the information transferred from the control means in the second frame as it is, thereby simplifying the processing. Become.
[0015]
An optical line terminal according to a third aspect is the optical line terminal according to the first aspect, wherein the control means generates the first frame at a constant period and the first communication means. The rewriting means rewrites the first frame received by the first communication means to the second frame only when the control means instructs the rewriting of the first frame to the second communication means. And if there is no instruction to rewrite the first frame from the control means, the first frame received by the first communication means is discarded.
[0016]
Therefore, since the control unit transmits the first frame to the upper switch at a constant cycle, the rewriting unit can receive the first frame from the upper switch at a substantially constant cycle, and is not affected by the traffic of the main signal. Thus, the fluctuation of the delay time can be reduced.
[0017]
An optical line terminal according to a fourth aspect is the optical line terminal according to any one of the first to third aspects, wherein the address of the optical network unit is a first address. It is stored in the data field of the frame.
[0018]
Therefore, the rewriting means can specify the optical network unit that transmits the second frame by referring to the data field of the first frame.
[0019]
An optical line terminal according to a fifth aspect of the present invention is the optical line terminal according to the first aspect, wherein the control means is transmitted from the optical line terminal and receives the optical line terminal. The access control is performed collectively so that the upstream signal transmitted to the upper switch via the station device does not collide with the specific frame transmitted to the upper switch.
[0020]
Therefore, it is possible to reduce the cost by eliminating the buffer conventionally required.
[0021]
According to a sixth aspect of the present invention, there is provided a method of transmitting a frame for transmitting a specific frame from an optical line terminal to an optical line terminal. Generating the first frame and transmitting the same to the upper-level switch; rewriting the first frame received from the upper-level switch into a second frame addressed to the optical network unit, and transmitting the first frame to the optical network unit. Transmitting.
[0022]
A first frame addressed to the own optical network unit is generated and transmitted to the upper-level switch, and the first frame received from the upper-level switch is rewritten into a second frame addressed to the optical network unit. Since the transmission is performed, it is possible to eliminate the buffer which was conventionally required, and to reduce the cost.
[0023]
The method for transmitting a frame according to claim 7 is the method for transmitting a frame according to claim 6, further comprising the step of: when the upper switch receives the first frame from the optical line terminal, And transmitting the frame to the optical line terminal in priority to the other frame.
[0024]

【The invention's effect】
According to the optical line terminal according to the first aspect, the control means generates the first frame addressed to itself, transmits the first frame to the upper switch, and the rewrite means transmits the first frame received from the upper switch. Since the second frame addressed to the optical network unit is rewritten and transmitted to the optical network unit, it is possible to eliminate the conventionally required buffer and reduce the cost.
[0057]
According to the optical line terminal according to the second aspect, the rewriting means simply stores the information transferred from the control means in the second frame as it is, and converts the first frame into the second frame. It can be rewritten and the processing can be simplified.
[0058]
According to the optical line terminal according to the third aspect, since the control means transmits the first frame to the upper switch at a constant cycle, the rewriting means transmits the first frame at a substantially constant cycle to the upper switch. , The delay time fluctuation can be reduced without being affected by the traffic of the main signal.
[0059]
According to the optical line terminal of the fourth aspect, the rewriting means refers to the data field of the first frame to specify the optical line terminal transmitting the second frame. Became possible.
[0060]
According to the optical line terminal according to claim 5, the control means sends the upstream signal transmitted from the optical line terminal and transmitted to the upper-level switch via the optical line terminal. Is collectively controlled so as not to collide with a specific frame sent to the upper-level switch, so that it is possible to eliminate a buffer conventionally required and reduce costs.
[0061]
According to the frame transmission method of the sixth aspect, the first frame addressed to the own optical network unit is generated and transmitted to the upper switch, and the first frame received from the upper switch is transmitted to the optical switch. Since the second frame addressed to the subscriber line terminal is rewritten and transmitted, it is possible to eliminate the buffer which was conventionally required and reduce the cost.
[0062]
According to the frame transmission method of the seventh aspect, the first frame can be immediately received from the upper-level switch, and the fluctuation of the delay time can be reduced without being influenced by the traffic of the main signal. Was.
