Abstract
Description

[0005]
The present invention has been made in view of such circumstances, and it is an object of the present invention to provide a low insertion force connector that can be manufactured at an appropriate size at low cost and that can be easily fitted. .
[0006]
[Means for Solving the Problems]
A low insertion force connector according to the present invention includes a plug connector housing and a receptacle connector housing fitted with the plug connector housing, wherein the plug connector housing has a side wall and the receptacle connector housing extends along the side wall. And a rotating shaft provided on the side wall, one end of which is rotatably attached to the side wall, and a rotating surface thereof is parallel to an outer surface of the side wall. A gear mechanism comprising a gear and a torsion coil spring attached to at least a part of the rotating shaft of the gear so as to urge the gear to rotate in a predetermined direction; and the receptacle connector housing. Has a wall, the fitting body of the plug connector housing fits inside along the wall, A fitting portion having a concave longitudinal section in which a slit portion is formed in the wall portion so that the gear mechanism can move at the time of engagement, and a slit of the slit portion on an outer surface side of the wall portion in which the slit portion is formed. A rack formed along the shape and meshing with the gears of the gear mechanism, wherein the plug and the receptacle connector housing are in a state where rotation of the gears of the gear mechanism biased by the torsion coil spring is started. The gear and the rack mesh with each other, and the fitting main body is completely fitted by being moved to a completely fitting position with the fitting portion.
[0007]
According to the present invention, a gear mechanism is provided in the plug connector housing in place of the conventional booster mechanism such as a lever, and a slit portion and a rack are provided in the receptacle connector housing, and the gear is rotated by the spring force of the torsion coil spring to form the plug. The connector housings are completely fitted by moving the connector housings in the fitting direction. For this reason, the operating space of the gear mechanism and the entire connector can be made smaller as compared with a case where a separately manufactured lever is attached to the housing to constitute a booster mechanism. In addition, if general-purpose parts are used for the gears of the gear mechanism, for example, it is not necessary to separately manufacture parts constituting the gear mechanism, so that a low insertion force connector can be manufactured at low cost. Furthermore, since the two connector housings can be fitted only by rotating the gear of the gear mechanism by the spring force of the torsion coil spring, the housings can be easily fitted with a low insertion force.
[0008]
In addition, it is preferable that the fitting main body part is completely fitted in a state where it is still urged in the fitting direction with the fitting part even at the complete fitting position by the gear mechanism. Thereby, the fitted state is firmly held.
[0009]
Preferably, the gear mechanism is provided on each of a pair of opposed side walls of the fitting main body, and the slit and the rack are provided on each of the pair of opposed walls of the fitting portion. With such a configuration, when a plurality of gear mechanisms are fitted in synchronization with each other, it is possible to further suppress the occurrence of torsion and twisting when fitting the two connector housings.
[0010]
Further, the rack is formed on the outer surface side of the wall portion of the fitting portion so as to face the slit portion so as to sandwich the slit portion along the outer surface of the wall portion. A first rack formed along the slit shape of the slit portion from the opening end side in the fitting direction to a halfway position of the slit portion and along the slit shape of the slit portion from the halfway position of the slit portion to the slit end position. A second rack formed by rotating a gear of a gear mechanism passing through the slit in a direction opposite to a predetermined direction to wind up a torsion coil spring. It is preferably formed so as to mesh with the gear rotated in a predetermined direction by the wound torsion coil spring and to move the fitting main body to a completely fitting position with the fitting portion.
[0011]
In this case, it is preferable that the second rack further includes a release mechanism that allows the rack itself to move and release the meshing state with the gear. Thus, the state of the gears that are kept urged to rotate in the predetermined direction by the torsion coil spring can be reset to a neutral state, and both connector housings can be easily moved in the removal direction.
[0012]
In addition, the gear mechanism may further include a lever for rotating the gear. In this case, when the connector housings are fitted to each other, human power can be used in addition to the spring force of the torsion coil spring.

【The invention's effect】
As described above, according to the present invention, a gear mechanism is provided in the plug connector housing instead of the conventional booster mechanism such as a lever, and a slit portion and a rack are provided in the receptacle connector housing, and the spring force of the torsion coil spring is used. By rotating the gear and moving the plug connector housing in the fitting direction, both connector housings are completely fitted. Furthermore, since the two connector housings can be fitted only by rotating the gear of the gear mechanism by the spring force of the torsion coil spring, the fitting between the housings can be easily performed with a low insertion force. It works.
