【0028】
RFIA=[LI cos(θI)―LQ sin(θQ)]・(―1) …(1)
【0029】
RFQA=[LI sin(θI)+LQ cos(θQ)]・(―1) …(2)
【0033】
RFQB=[―LI sin(θI)+LQ cos(θQ)]・(―1) …(3)
【0034】
RFIB=LI cos(θI)+LQ sin(θQ) …(4)
【0035】
RFIA=KI・IA …(5)
RFQA=KQ・QA …(6)
RFIB=KI・IB …(7)
RFQB=KQ・QB …(8)
【0036】
RFIA=KI・IA=[LI cos(θI)―LQ sin(θQ)]・(―1) …(9)
RFQA=KQ・QA=[LI sin(θI)+LQ cos(θQ)]・(―1) …(10)
RFQB=KQ・QB=[―LI sin(θI)+LQ cos(θQ)]・(―1) …(11)
RFIB=KI・IB=[LI cos(θI)+LQ sin(θQ)]・(―1) …(12)
【0037】
KI・IA+KI・IB=2LI cos(θI)・(―1) …(13)
KQ・QA+KQ・QB=2LQ cos(θQ)・(―1) …(14)
KI・IA―KI・IB=―2LQ sin(θQ)・(―1) …(15)
KQ・QA―KQ・QB=2LI sin(θI)・(―1) …(16)
LI=(1/2)[KI 2(IA+IB)2+KQ 2(QA―QB)2]1/2…(17)
【0038】
LQ=(1/2)[KI 2(IA―IB)2+KQ 2(QA+QB)2]1/2…(18)
【0039】
θI=ACOS[―KI(IA+IB)/(2LI)] …(19)
【0040】
θQ=ACOS[―KQ(QA+QB)/(2LQ)] …(20)
【0041】
θI=ASIN[―KI(QA―QB)/(2LI)] …(21)
【0042】
θQ=ASIN[―KQ(IA―IB)/(―2LQ)] …(22)
【0048】
KI=(VL2―VL1)/(DC2―DC1) …(23)

TECHNICAL FIELD OF THE INVENTION
The present invention relates to a carrier of a double balanced mixer for measuring a carrier leak contained in an output signal of a double balanced mixer that multiplies a carrier signal input to a local input terminal and an IF signal input to an IF input terminal. The present invention relates to a leak measuring device.
[0002]
[Prior art]
FIG. 7A shows a double balanced mixer (hereinafter, abbreviated as DBM) 1 (this structure is an example of a double balanced mixer) having the structure shown in FIG. 7B. As shown, a carrier signal c input to a local input terminal and an IF signal b input to an IF input terminal are multiplied and output as an output signal d.
[0003]
In this case, in the general DBM1, as shown in the phase vector diagram of FIG. 7C, in addition to the vector desired for the output signal d, the carrier signal c is output via the DBM1. The signal d includes a carrier leak that leaks. As described above, when the output signal d of the DBM1 includes a carrier leak, large spurious signals are generated in output signals of various circuits and signal processing devices such as a quadrature modulator in which the DBM1 is incorporated. It becomes a factor.
[0004]
Therefore, it is important in circuit design to measure and grasp the magnitude L and phase θ of carrier leak in each

Also, the network analyzer (NWA) 2 is very expensive because it essentially has a function of measuring the characteristics of a signal having a small signal level with high accuracy.
[0011]
The present invention has been made in view of such circumstances, and incorporates a DBM to be measured into a quadrature modulator, and controls the output signal level of the entire quadrature modulator by a DC voltage applied to an IF input terminal of each DBM. This makes it possible to measure the carrier leak of the DBM to be measured independently without using a network analyzer (NWA), easily and with high accuracy, even if the DBM is built in a quadrature modulator. -To provide a carrier leak measuring device for a mixer.
[0012]
[Means for Solving the Problems]
In order to solve the above problem, in a carrier leak measuring device of a double balanced mixer (DBM) according to the present invention, a pair of carrier signals having phases different from each other by 90 ° are generated and output to a pair of signal terminals. A quadrature carrier signal generation / switching unit for switching the phase relationship between carrier signals output to a pair of signal terminals in response to a signal switching command, and a pair of DBMs for which at least one DBM (double balanced mixer) is a measurement target A quadrature modulator, in which each carrier signal output from a pair of signal terminals of the quadrature carrier signal generation / switching unit is input to each DBM, and a modulation signal output from the quadrature modulator. A level measuring device for measuring a signal level, a voltage generator for generating a specified DC voltage applied to an IF input terminal of each DBM, and a quadrature carrier A signal switching command is sent to the signal generating / switching unit, and a pair of carrier signals input to the quadrature modulator are generated from the voltage generator while maintaining the pair of carrier signals in the first state. Means for obtaining a first pair of DC voltages at which the signal level measured by the level measuring device is minimized by inputting the signal to a terminal; The phase relationship between a pair of carrier signals input to the generator is switched from the first state and maintained in the second state, and is generated from the voltage generator and input to each IF input terminal of the pair of DBMs. Means for obtaining a second pair of DC voltages at which the signal level measured by the level measuring device is minimized; and a first pair of DC voltages, the second pair of DC voltages, and a conversion coefficient of each DBM. From each DBM Means for calculating the magnitude and phase of the carrier leak.
[0013]
BEST MODE FOR CARRYING OUT THE INVENTION
Hereinafter, a carrier leak measuring device of a double balanced mixer (DBM) according to an embodiment of the present invention will be described.
First, FIG. 1, FIG. 2, FIG. 3, and FIG. 3 show the principle of operation in which the magnitude and phase of the carrier leak of each DBM incorporated in the quadrature modulator can be measured using the quadrature modulator incorporating the DBM to be measured. 4 will be described.
[0014]
For example, as shown in FIG. 1, the signal levels of the I and Q signals applied to the IF input terminals of the
[0015]
However, generally, as shown in FIG. 2, a carrier leak (magnitude L I ) separated from the phase (I-phase axis) of the carrier signal c 1 input from the
[0016]
In order that the carrier leak L 0 is not output from the
[0017]
Here, the signal level indicative of the magnitude of the carrier leakage L 0 output from the
[0018]
As can be understood from FIG. 2, the DC voltage I DC applied to cancel the carrier leak L 0 changes the carrier leaks L I and L Q to the phase (I-phase axis) of the carrier signal c 1 input to the
[0019]
Therefore, the relationship between the DC voltages I DC , Q DC and the magnitudes of the carrier leaks L I , L Q and the phases θ I , θ Q is obtained.
[0020]
Next, by switching the carrier signals c 1 and c 2 applied to the respective DBMs 11 and 12 to obtain the same relationship, the magnitudes of the respective carrier leaks L I and L Q and the phases θ I and θ Q are determined.
[0021]
However, in each DBM11,12, rather than voltage appears as it is output to be input to the IF input terminal, the conversion coefficient K I, the value appears obtained by multiplying the K Q corresponding to each DBM11,12. Therefore, the DC voltage I DC described above, Q value obtained by multiplying the conversion factor K to DC and leakage each carrier L I, L Q magnitude and phase theta I, the carrier leak by using the relationship between theta Q L I, L The magnitude of Q and the phases θ I and θ Q are determined.
[0022]
Further, a specific calculation procedure of the magnitudes of the carrier leaks L I and L Q and the phases θ I and θ Q will be described with reference to FIG. 3 (state A) and FIG. 4 (state B).
[0023]
FIG. 3A shows a carrier signal c 1 (= E cos (2πf) at the local input terminal of the
[0024]
Further, in this state A, the signal level of the signal (carrier leak L 0 ) output from the
[0025]
The pair of DC voltages I A, specific method of obtaining the combination of Q A, the DC voltage I D, go successively changing the combination of Q D are applied to the respective DBM11,12 IF input terminal of the
[0026]
In this state A, as shown in FIG. 3 (b), (c) , the carrier separated by phase theta I relative phase (I-phase axis) of the carrier signal c 1 is input to the DBM11 from DBM11 leakage L I occurs, phase theta Q apart carrier leak L Q occurs for phase carrier signal c 2 which is input to the DBM12 (Q axis) from DBM12. The carrier leak L 0 of the
[0027]
In FIG. 3 (b), in order to counteract this vector synthesized axis of the carrier signal c 1 is input to DBM11 the carrier leak L 0 (I-phase axis) direction component, is applied to the IF input terminal of DBM11 DC the RF components RF IA appearing at the output terminal of DBM11 voltage I a, a value that cancels the value obtained by summing the phase (I-phase axis) direction component of the carrier signal c 1 is input to DBM11 of each carrier leak L I, L Q Therefore, it can be expressed by equation (1).
[0028]
RF IA = [L I cos ( θ I) -L Q sin (θ Q)] · (-1) ... (1)
Same applied, in FIG. 3 (c), to counteract the vector synthesized carrier leak L 0 of the carrier signal c 2 which is input to DBM12 phase (Q-phase axis) direction component, the IF input terminal of DBM12 to RF components RF QA at the output end of DBM12 DC voltage Q a, each carrier leak L I, a value obtained by summing the phase (Q-phase axis) direction component of the carrier signal c 2 which is input to DBM12 of L Q Since it is a value that cancels out, it can be expressed by equation (2).
[0029]
RF QA = [L I sin ( θ I) + L Q cos (θ Q)] · (-1) ... (2)
However, the DC voltage I A, two carrier leakage L I at I B, since the cancel collectively L Q, the (1), obtains two carrier leakage L I, the L Q individually from (2) It is not possible.
[0030]
Therefore, as shown in FIG. 4A, the carrier signals c 1 and c 2 input to the respective DBMs 11 and 12 of the
[0031]
In the case of the state B, the phase of the carrier signal input to each of the
[0032]
Thus, in FIG. 4 (b), in order to cancel the phase (Q-phase axis) direction component of the carrier signal c 2 which is input to DBM12 carrier leak L 0 that is a vector synthesis, applied to the IF input terminal of DBM12 DC the RF components RF QB of the voltage Q B appears at the output terminal of DBM12, a value that cancels the value obtained by summing the phase (Q-phase axis) direction component of the carrier signal c 2 inputted to DBM12 of each carrier leak L I, L Q Therefore, it can be expressed by equation (3).
[0033]
RF QB = [- L I sin (θ I) + L Q cos (θ Q)] · (-1) ... (3)
Same applied, in FIG. 4 (c), to counteract the vector synthesized carrier leak L 0 of the carrier signal c 1 is input to DBM11 phase (I-phase axis) direction component, the IF input terminal of DBM11 direct current voltage I RF components RF IB appearing at the output terminal of DBM11 by B, each carrier leak L I, a value obtained by summing the phase (I-phase axis) direction component of the carrier signal c 1 is input to DBM11 of L Q Since it is a value to cancel, it can be expressed by equation (4).
[0034]
RF IB = L I cos (θ I ) + L Q sin (θ Q ) (4)
As described above, in each of the
[0035]
RF IA = K I · I A ... (5)
RF QA = K Q · Q A (6)
RF IB = K I · I B ... (7)
RF QB = K Q · Q B (8)
By substituting the above equations (5) to (8) into the equations (1) to (4), the following equations (9) to (12) are obtained.
[0036]
RF IA = K I · I A = [L I cos (θ I) -L Q sin (θ Q)] · (-1) ... (9)
RF QA = K Q · Q A = [L I sin (θ I) + L Q cos (θ Q)] · (-1) ... (10)
RF QB = K Q · Q B = [- L I sin (θ I) + L Q cos (θ Q)] · (-1) ... (11)
RF IB = K I · I B = [L I cos (θ I) + L Q sin (θ Q)] · (-1) ... (12)
By modifying the equations (9) to (12), the following equations (13) to (16) are obtained.
[0037]
K I · I A + K I · I B = 2L I cos (θ I) · (-1) ... (13)
K Q · Q A + K Q · Q B = 2L Q cos (θ Q ) · (−1) (14)
K I · I A -K I · I B = -2L Q sin (θ Q) · (-1) ... (15)
K Q · Q A -K Q · Q B = 2L I sin (θ I) · (-1) ... (16)
Equation (13), the size L I carrier leakage DBM11 from (16) is obtained by (17).
L I = (1/2) [K I 2 (I A + I B) 2 + K Q 2 (Q A -Q B) 2] 1/2 ... (17)
Further, equation (14), the size L Q carrier leakage DBM12 from (15) is determined by equation (18).
[0038]
L Q = (1/2) [K I 2 (I A -I B) 2 + K Q 2 (Q A + Q B) 2] 1/2 ... (18)
Further, the phase theta I carrier leakage DBM11 from (13) is obtained by (19).
[0039]
θ I = ACOS [-K I ( I A + I B) / (2L I)] ... (19)
Similarly, the phase θ Q of the carrier leak of the
[0040]
θ Q = ACOS [−K Q (Q A + Q B ) / (2L Q )] (20)
Or, the phase theta I carrier leakage DBM11 from (16) is obtained by (21).
[0041]
θ I = ASIN [-K I ( Q A -Q B) / (2L I)] ... (21)
Similarly, from equation (15), the phase θ Q of the carrier leak of the
[0042]
θ Q = ASIN [-K Q ( I A -I B) / (- 2L Q)] ... (22)
Thus, two pairs of DC voltage signal level of the carrier leak L 0 of the entire
[0043]
Next, a method of measuring the conversion coefficients K I and K Q of the respective DBMs 11 and 12 will be described. There are a plurality of methods for measuring the conversion coefficients K I and K Q shown in the following (a), (b) and (c).
[0044]

【The invention's effect】
As described above, in the carrier leak measuring device of the double balanced mixer (DBM) according to the present invention, the DBM to be measured is incorporated in the quadrature modulator, and the output signal level of the entire quadrature modulator becomes a minimum value. Thus, the combination of the DC voltage applied to the IF input terminal of each DBM is set, and the magnitude and phase of the carrier leak of each DBM are calculated using the relationship between the combination of the DC voltage and the carrier leak of each DBM. I have.
[0080]
Therefore, the carrier leak of the DBM to be measured alone can be measured with high accuracy easily and with high accuracy without incorporating a network analyzer (NWA), even if the DBM is incorporated in a quadrature modulator.
