Abstract
Description
【0001】

Description of the Related Art A document reading apparatus of a sheet through scan system using a sheet through document feeder (hereinafter, a document feeder is referred to as a DF) for reading an image of a passing document is widely used. The sheet-through DF is different from the conventional document feeder system in which the original surface is read by moving the lamp and light collector (following mirror) to the original surface. In this method, the original surface is read by illuminating and moving the original. The sheet-through DF is advantageous in that the structure of the document feeder is mechanically simplified, but may cause a problem in image quality.
[0003]
That is, if there is dust or scratches on the reading surface, it becomes black spot-like stains and the image quality deteriorates. However, in the case of the sheet through DF, the original moves, and if there is dust or scratches at the original reading position, it becomes black and streaks. Remains, and the image quality is significantly degraded.
