Abstract
Description
【0001】

TECHNICAL FIELD OF THE INVENTION
The present invention relates to a dirt inspection method for inspecting dirt on a recording medium such as an optical disk and an optical card, a dirt inspection medium, and a method for manufacturing the same.
[0002]
[Prior art]
In general, in a reproducing apparatus for an optical disk such as a CD (Compact Disc) or a DVD (Digital Versatile Disc), if there are defects such as fingerprints, dust, black spots and scratches attached to the disk surface, information reproduction may fail. Even in a recording / reproducing apparatus for an optical disk, if the disk surface has a defect, recording may fail. These disk devices use servo control such as tracking servo, focus servo, and tilt servo for controlling a pickup for recording or reproduction to a desired position. Defects are obstacles to stable operation of these servo controls.
[0003]
For example, in the case of DVD, in order to evaluate system stability against fingerprint stains attached to the optical disk surface, dots arranged at regular intervals are printed on the optical disk substrate surface using ink, or a metal thin film is sputtered. It is formed by a method such as forming on the surface of an optical disk substrate by etching after forming it on the surface of an optical disk by vapor deposition or the like, and substitutes for fingerprints and defects (see
[0004]
In the case of conventional dots using fingerprints or defects using ink or metal thin films, the recording / reproducing laser beam is completely shut off, so that the system signal (for example, focus sum signal or focus error signal) is turned on from the normal level to the GND level. A repetitive signal that is turned off is obtained. This waveform has characteristics close to stains that do not transmit light adhering to the substrate surface (for example, mud stains, ink graffiti, etc.).

[Problems to be solved by the invention]
By the way, in order to realize an optical information medium having a large capacity and a high recording density, a next-generation optical disk has recently been proposed in which the wavelength of the light source is shortened and the numerical aperture of the objective lens is further increased. An optical disk recording / reproducing system using a semiconductor laser having a light source wavelength of 405 nm and an objective lens having a numerical aperture of 0.85 can achieve a recording capacity of 23 to 27 GB for a phase change optical disk having a diameter of 120 mm. In the next-generation optical disk, the thickness of the transparent resin layer (hereinafter referred to as the cover layer) through which the light irradiated by the laser beam is transmitted is set to 0.1 mm, which is smaller than that of the conventional optical disk. Signal degradation can be suppressed.
[0008]
However, in the next-generation optical disc, stains such as optically transparent or translucent fingerprints affect system stability more than stains that do not transmit light adhering to the cover layer surface. If optically transparent or translucent dirt adheres to the surface of the cover layer, the system signal fluctuates in the servo range without falling to the GND level, so that the focus servo and the tracking servo become more unstable. There was a tendency.
[0009]
By the way, in a disk system in which the numerical aperture of the objective lens is as large as 0.85, for example, as in the next-generation optical disk, an increase in spherical aberration caused by transparent or translucent stain has a great influence on focus servo and tracking servo. Accordingly, fingerprint stains having optical transparency are a major cause of servo failure.
[0010]
The problem to be solved by the present invention is to provide a dirt inspection method for forming dirt on an optical recording medium by forming a pattern having light transmittance simulating actual fingerprint dirt, a dirt inspection medium, and a method of manufacturing the same. BEST MODE FOR CARRYING OUT THE INVENTION
An embodiment according to the present invention will be described with reference to the drawings.
In the stain inspection method according to the embodiment, as shown in FIG. 1, a signal is generated by irradiating light onto a surface such as a cover layer of an optical recording medium such as an
[0017]
In order to select an optical disk having a defect with respect to stain resistance, an environment in which the optical disk is actually used is reproduced in a pseudo manner, that is, a light transmissive pattern imitating a stain such as a fingerprint (hereinafter, referred to as a pseudo fingerprint). Must be adhered to the surface of an optical disk substrate or a cover layer, and its “dirt adhesion” and “dirt removal” must be measured. A system after attaching a pseudo-fingerprint made of an oil-and-fat composition having a component similar to a fingerprint component to the surface of an optical disc substrate, and then wiping the pseudo-fingerprint with a certain cloth or the like to attach the oil-and-fat composition The evaluation of the signal and the evaluation of the presence / absence of the difference of the system signal after wiping may be performed.
[0018]
Further, an optical disk for dirt inspection is provided as a recording / reproducing apparatus design tool for ensuring system stability against fingerprint dirt. This optical disk for dirt inspection has an unremovable permanent pattern (hereinafter, referred to as a fixed pseudo fingerprint) having excellent storage stability and imitating dirt such as a fingerprint formed on an optical disk substrate. The occurrence of an error is evaluated based on a dropout detection signal or the like in a system signal obtained by scanning the fixed pseudo fingerprint of the dirt inspection optical disk with a recording / reproducing system. In order to reliably design the recording / reproducing device, the height or depth, width, pitch, transmittance, etc. of the fixed pseudo-fingerprint are changed mainly in the vicinity of the limit point that causes the breakdown of the focus servo or tracking servo. It is desirable to be able to prepare. That is, it is necessary to stably control the height or depth, width, pitch, transmittance, and the like of the fixed pseudo fingerprint, and to ensure reproducibility of production.

[Determination method of optical disk having defect]
An example of a method of evaluating the “dirt adhesion” and “dirt removal” of the optical disk substrate surface by using a light transmitting pattern, that is, a pseudo fingerprint, and selecting an optical disk having a defect regarding dirt resistance, that is, a dirt inspection method will be described below. .
[0029]
First, a mixture of three types of fats and oils (fatty oils that are liquid at room temperature) and triglycerides (fats and oils that are solid at room temperature) of a light-transmitting fat and oil composition that constitutes a pseudo fingerprint is prepared. I do. Jojoba oil is preferably used as a mixture of fatty acids and wax esters. For example, the oil and fat composition is prepared by adjusting the mixing ratio shown in Table 1 below.
[0030]
[Table 1]
A clay powder (clay powder) can be further added to the fat or oil composition in order to increase the solid content. Further, the fat or oil composition may contain a dye or a pigment in order to control its light transmittance. The light transmittance (the degree of dirt) of the light-transmitting pattern is adjusted by changing the compounding ratio of triglyceride, the added amount of clay powder, and the added amount of dye or pigment.
[0031]
Next, a prototype of the pseudo fingerprint is created. For example, a 20 mm square pseudo fingerprint composed of 20 substantially parallel lines having a pitch of 0.7 mm and having a line width varied in the range of 0.3 to 0.5 mm is printed on a 200-mesh nylon mesh screen for screen printing. Prepare the original. The mesh is a unit of the number of stitches existing between a vertical line and a horizontal line of 25.4 mm × 25.4 mm square. This original is configured so that only the printed line portions have mesh openings. The screen printing original plate can be produced using a commercially available simple screen printing plate production machine. As described above, the above-described fat and oil composition is adhered onto the surface of the optical disk substrate by a screen printing method through a screen printing original plate for producing a pseudo fingerprint prepared on a screen having a mesh size of at least 200 mesh or more.
[0032]
Furthermore, it should be understood that pseudo-fingerprints are not limited to a corner pattern, but rather a bow-like pattern that sebum will form at the skin-ridge of the finger-pad of a human hand. An original for screen printing can also be produced by creating a predetermined pattern such as (arch), hoof print (loop), and spiral print (whol). That is, the light-transmitting pattern of the pseudo fingerprint has a fingerprint shape. In the fingerprint-like shape, it is preferable that the width, height, pitch and gap of the lines or points constituting the fingerprint are arbitrarily present, that is, random. Lines constituting the pseudo fingerprint have a width of 0.05 mm to 0.5 mm, a height of 1 μm to 50 μm, and a line pitch of 0.1 mm to 1.0 mm. The fingerprint-like shape comprises lines and gaps and may include at least one of a set of substantially parallel lines, a spiral, a substantially concentric circle, a substantially ellipse, and a stadium type. This makes it possible to form a pseudo fingerprint having light transmittance like actual fingerprint stains.
[0033]
Next, the oil composition is applied to the surface of the optical disk substrate using the screen printing master.
The obtained optical disk substrate with a pseudo fingerprint is mounted on a recording / reproducing apparatus (laser light source wavelength: 405 nm, numerical aperture of an objective lens: 0.85), scanned by a pickup, and used for a system such as a focus sum signal, a focus error signal, and a tracking error signal. By measuring the signal, it is possible to evaluate the attached amount of the pseudo fingerprint, that is, the stain adhesion. By evaluating a system signal by attaching a pseudo fingerprint pattern to a surface of a commercially available optical disk, it is possible to select an optical disk that causes a servo failure.
[0034]
For example, the oil / fat composition for recording medium stain inspection of the present embodiment was adjusted at the compounding ratio shown in Table 2 below, and an appropriate amount of the oil / fat composition was allowed to adhere a pseudo fingerprint to an optical disk by the above procedure.
[0035]
[Table 2]
As an example, FIG. 4 shows an optical microscope image of a pseudo fingerprint formed using the oil / fat composition component of Composition 4. FIG. 5 shows system signals (focus sum signal SUM, focus error signal FE, tracking error signal TE) obtained by scanning the pseudo fingerprint-attached optical disk. The compounding ratio of the oil and fat composition reproduces the main substances constituting the human sebum component and the ratio thereof, and is therefore suitable for evaluation of fingerprint stains.
[0036]
Subsequently, using a woven cloth made of polyester microfiber having a diameter of 0.2 mm, the pseudo fingerprints attached to the optical disk substrate are removed. For the evaluation of the stain removal property, it is preferable to wipe off using a woven or non-woven fabric made of microfiber made of polyester or the like having a diameter of 0.2 mm or less. By evaluating the state after such wiping, it is possible to select an optical disk from which fingerprint stains cannot be removed.
[0037]
After the removal, the dirt removability can be evaluated by measuring the error occurrence rate of the signal recorded on the optical disk again using the recording / reproducing apparatus. At this time, if the pseudo fingerprint cannot be removed, an error occurs. For example, if the surface of the optical disk substrate and the oil composition are chemically or physically strongly bonded, the pseudo fingerprint cannot be removed.
[0038]
[Optical Disk for Soil Inspection and Manufacturing Method]
The optical disk for dirt inspection includes a recording layer, a light transmitting layer, a so-called cover layer, formed on the light-irradiated side of the recording layer, and a light transmitting pattern, which is fixed to the light transmitting layer and transmits light, a so-called fixed pseudo pattern. Consists of a fingerprint.
The fixed pseudo fingerprint is, for example, a liquid photoresist, a photosensitive dry film resist, or the like, which is curable or developable by radiation and is coated with a functional resin capable of forming a pattern on an optical disk substrate, and then formed. The pseudo-fingerprint image can be formed on the functional resin film on the substrate by a so-called photolithography method in which a latent image is formed on the functional resin film via a mask made of chromium or the like as a latent image, followed by development processing. The strength of the fixed pseudo-fingerprint can be improved by performing a heat treatment, ultraviolet irradiation, or the like after the development treatment.
[0039]
It is manufactured by pressing a mold on which a pseudo fingerprint is formed against a photocurable resin formed on an optical disk substrate. The strength of the pattern can be improved by heat treatment or irradiation with ultraviolet light after the mold is released, which is more preferable. The height of the fixed pseudo-fingerprint formed by pressing the mold may be any of a concave shape (dent) or a convex shape (projection) with the cover layer surface as a reference surface, or a mixture of unevenness. .
[0040]
A stamp original for producing a fixed pseudo fingerprint is produced using a rubber material such as silicone, and a liquid ultraviolet curable resin or a resin paint is adhered onto the surface of the optical disc substrate via the stamp original. As the resin coating, a solvent dilution system using a so-called non-invasive solvent that does not dissolve or combine the optical disk substrate, or an aqueous coating is used. As described above, the oil composition is transferred and adhered to the surface of the optical disk substrate by the letterpress printing method via the stamp original for producing a pseudo fingerprint, but the screen printing method is applied via the screen printing original plate. Thereby, the oil composition can be transferred and adhered onto the surface of the optical disk substrate. In addition, the strength of the fixed pseudo-fingerprint can be improved by performing heat treatment or ultraviolet irradiation treatment on the light-transmitting pattern after peeling the screen printing original or stamp original from the optical disk substrate.
[0041]
In order to control the light transmittance, a dye or pigment may be added to the resin forming the fixed pseudo fingerprint. Such addition makes it possible to quantitatively reproduce the degree of fingerprint contamination.
The shape of the fixed pseudo-fingerprint has light transmittance, the pattern width, height or depth, pitch and interval are random, and its macro shape is composed of lines or points and gaps, It has a set, a spiral, a substantially concentric circle, a substantially ellipse, and a stadium type. The pattern width is 0.05 mm to 0.5 mm, the height or depth is 1 μm to 50 μm, and the pattern pitch is 0.1 to 1.0 mm. Since the fixed pseudo fingerprint has little change over time and excellent storage stability, the system stability against fingerprint contamination can be ensured for a long time.
[0042]
An example of an optical disk for dirt inspection as a recording / reproducing device design tool for ensuring system stability against fingerprint dirt and an example of a method of manufacturing the optical disk will be described in detail.
First, a positive-type electron beam resist ZEP-520 (manufactured by Zeon Corporation) was applied on a well-polished Si wafer to a thickness of 150 nm. After baking on a hot plate, mount the Si wafer with electron beam resist on the turntable installed in the vacuum chamber of the electron beam mastering device developed in-house, and use the spindle motor to specify the Si wafer with electron beam resist. The electron beam focused to a minute spot diameter was intermittently irradiated onto the electron beam resist while rotating at a rotation speed of. The irradiation pattern of the electron beam repeats ON-OFF corresponding to the recording signal, and moves on the Si wafer with the electron beam resist, whereby a spiral latent image corresponding to the recording signal is formed in the electron beam resist. At this time, a random signal modulated by (1,7) modulation was used as a recording signal, and the length of the shortest pit was set to 149 nm and the track pitch was set to 320 nm. Thereafter, when the Si wafer with the electron beam resist is taken out of the vacuum chamber and subjected to a developing process with a predetermined developing solution, a depression corresponding to the recording signal, that is, a phase pit is formed on the resist. The Si substrate thus obtained is called a resist master.
[0043]
Using an electron beam resist as a mask, for example, CF 4 Was etched to a depth at which the electric signal strength and the drive control signal were optimal, for example, 60 nm by reactive ion etching using as a reactive gas, and the shape of the phase bit was transferred onto the Si wafer. The residue of the electron beam resist remaining on the Si wafer after the reactive ion etching was removed by a resist stripper or ozone ashing.
[0044]
A conductive film made of nickel (Ni) was formed on the surface of the Si wafer where the phase pits were formed, using a sputtering method or the like, and a Ni stamper (master stamper) was fabricated by liquid-phase Ni plating using the Ni thin film as an electrode. . The stamper manufacturing process used was the same as the conventional optical disk manufacturing process.
A resin substrate to which a phase bit having a diameter of 120 nm and a thickness of 1.1 mm was transferred was prepared using an injection molding method based on a master stamper. In addition to the master stamper, a baby stamper which is a replica produced from the master stamper by a conventional method may be used. As the resin material for forming the substrate, polycarbonate (AD.5503 manufactured by Teijin Chemicals) was used as in the case of CD and DVD. An acrylic resin, a polyolefin resin, or the like may be used in addition to polycarbonate.
[0045]
On the surface of the resin substrate on which the phase pits were formed, a reflective film made of AlTi (weight composition ratio: Al: Ti = 99: 1) was formed by a sputtering method so as to have a thickness of 15 nm. The sputtering device used at this time reduces the amount of the reflective film material attached to the side walls of the phase pits as described later, and minimizes the difference between the phase pit shape formed on the resin substrate and the phase pit shape read by the light beam. It is configured to hold down. Subsequently, a polycarbonate film having a thickness of 95 μm was bonded to the reflection film using an ultraviolet-curable adhesive (WorldRock811 manufactured by Kyoritsu Chemical). At this time, the thickness of the adhesive layer was adjusted to 5 μm, and the thickness of the cover layer formed on the reflective film was adjusted to 100 μm in total.
[0046]
Thus, an optical disc serving as a base for forming a fixed pseudo fingerprint is completed.
Next, a fixed pseudo-fingerprint of 20 mm square composed of 20 substantially parallel lines having a pitch of 0.7 mm and having a line width varied in the range of 0.3 to 0.5 mm is formed as a projection on the silicone rubber plate, Was prepared. This stamp master can be produced by a commercially available general stamp producing machine.
[0047]
Next, a liquid ultraviolet curing resin (World Rock 811 manufactured by Kyoritsu Chemical Co., Ltd.) is adhered to the surface of the cover layer of the prepared optical disk as a fixed pseudo fingerprint using the silicone rubber stamp. In this example, no dye or pigment was added. Thereafter, the resin is cured by irradiating the resin with ultraviolet light in a nitrogen gas replacement atmosphere, and an optical disk having a fixed pseudo fingerprint attached is obtained. A high-pressure mercury lamp was used as an ultraviolet light source.
[0048]
Through the above steps, a dirt inspection optical disk is completed.
FIG. 6 shows system signals (focus sum signal SUM, focus error signal FE, tracking error signal TE) when the fixed pseudo fingerprint thus obtained is scanned using the same recording / reproducing apparatus as described above. At the same time, actual fingerprints were collected for comparison, and system signals (focus sum signal SUM, focus error signal FE, tracking error signal TE) obtained by the recording / reproducing apparatus in the same manner as described above are shown in FIG. Show. Both are very similar, and it can be said that the pseudo fingerprint produced by the method of the present embodiment reproduces an actual fingerprint. FIG. 8 shows an optical microscope image of the fixed pseudo fingerprint.
[0049]
[Example of experiment]
Using samples obtained by attaching fingerprints to a plurality of optical discs, based on the output obtained by mounting the optical information recording / reproducing apparatus, the number of samples of whether or not the focusing servo and tracking servo can be performed is determined by using the following information. The tracking servo was not possible TKSNG and both were counted based on OK, and the width and pitch of the lines constituting the fingerprint and the duty ratio thereof were evaluated.
[0050]
9, 10 and 11 show the resulting histograms, the vertical axis shows the frequency of the number of actual fingerprint samples, and the horizontal axis shows pitch (μm), width (μm) and width / pitch (duty ratio%). Are respectively shown.
As a sample, the shape of fingerprint stains attached to a polycarbonate resin in a general office environment was observed for Japanese men and women aged 20 to 60 years. Since the height of the fingerprint line differs depending on the state of the surface to which the fingerprint stain adheres, it was ignored. The height of the fingerprint line may be considered to be approximately 1/10 or less of the width in consideration of the surface property of the attached matter. Since the pitch is expected to exceed the above range for children and Westerners, it is desirable to set the pitch wider.
[0051]
From the above results, it is necessary to cover a part where OK and NG of the focusing servo and the tracking servo are mixed in the above graph, so that a more preferable range of the size of the pseudo fingerprint is: An appropriate range is 250 to 400 μm and a width / pitch (duty ratio): 70 to 80%.
