Abstract
Description
【0001】

【0052】

TECHNICAL FIELD OF THE INVENTION
The present invention relates to a power conversion device for an electric vehicle that houses a plurality of groups of power conversion circuits.
[0002]
[Prior art]
There are various types of power conversion circuits composed of semiconductor elements, and there are an inverter circuit for converting DC to AC and a converter circuit for converting AC to DC. The inverter circuit includes a VVVF inverter circuit for variably controlling the AC output voltage and frequency, a CVCF inverter circuit for controlling the AC output voltage and frequency to be constant, and the like, and these constitute a power converter.
[0003]
In a railway vehicle system, a power converter in which a plurality of VVVF inverter circuits for controlling an induction motor for driving a vehicle are housed in a housing for each control unit is mounted, for example, under the floor of an electric car. For example, a power conversion device that accommodates one vehicle, that is, four groups of VVVF inverter circuits that individually control one induction motor is widely used. At the same time, in an auxiliary power supply system, a case where a VVVF inverter circuit is switched to a CVCF inverter circuit used as an auxiliary power supply, and a power conversion device accommodating two groups are also being used.
[0004]
When a power conversion device using such a semiconductor element is mounted on an electric vehicle, the space for mounting the device is limited, and a reduction in size and weight of the device is always required.
[0005]
For example, an electric vehicle power converter including two groups of CVCF inverter circuits will be described with reference to FIG. FIG. 11A is a configuration diagram of a main circuit of a conventional electric vehicle power converter, and FIG. 11B is a configuration diagram of a control unit.
[0006]

The control units include a first
[0008]
In order to reduce the size of the device in such a configuration, a configuration and a method of arranging CVCF inverter circuits of a plurality of groups of power conversion devices in the same cooling block have already been disclosed (Patent Document 1).
[0009]
In addition, when applied to a VVVF inverter circuit, if the size and weight are reduced, the capacity of the cooler will be utilized to the limit, and a plurality of groups of VVVF inverter circuits will detect temperature abnormalities at the same time, and in the worst case, it will not be able to run. Is also conceivable.

[0011]
[Problems to be solved by the invention]
Recently, in the case of a CVCF inverter circuit requiring redundancy, such as a two-group configuration, there is no change in the mounting space of a vehicle, and thus a CVCF inverter circuit that is significantly smaller than in the past has been demanded. Also in the VVVF inverter circuit, it is necessary to reduce the size and weight while increasing the cooling efficiency.
[0012]
An object of the present invention is to provide a power conversion device for an electric vehicle that can achieve a small size and light weight while realizing high efficiency of cooling capacity.
[0013]
[Means for Solving the Problems]

An electric component, which is disposed in the cooling block and includes a semiconductor element constituting a plurality of groups of power conversion circuits;
Control means for selectively controlling the plurality of groups of power conversion circuits to a power conversion circuit according to a steady operation and a power conversion circuit according to a standby operation;
It is characterized by having.
[0014]
According to the present invention, the cooling capacity required for the cooling block does not need to satisfy the entire group of the power conversion circuits, and only the power conversion circuit for the steady operation or the power conversion circuit for the standby operation is sufficient. Efficient cooling of the power conversion circuit can be realized, and the size of the power conversion device for electric vehicles can be reduced.
[0015]
Further, in order to solve the above problems, the electric vehicle power converter according to the present invention, a cooling block mounted on the electric vehicle,
An electric component, which is disposed in the cooling block and includes a semiconductor element constituting a plurality of groups of power conversion circuits;
In the cooling block, a temperature detection sensor provided for a representative phase or each phase of the plurality of groups of power conversion circuits, and for controlling the power conversion circuits.
It is characterized by having.
[0016]
According to the present invention, a plurality of groups of power conversion circuits can be controlled for each phase by the temperature detection sensor provided in the cooling block. It is not necessary to fill the entire semiconductor element, and only the semiconductor element for each phase is sufficient. Therefore, efficient cooling of the power conversion circuit can be realized, and the power conversion device for an electric vehicle can be downsized.
