Abstract
Description
【0001】

[0012]
The present invention has been made in view of these problems, and in an image reading apparatus in which a roller is provided on a reading unit so as to be able to contact and separate, a pressing force between the reading unit and the roller in a pressed state is reduced. It is an object of the present invention to provide a unit capable of preventing a reading unit from being damaged or the like and maintaining good reading accuracy by alleviating a shock when the state is changed from a state to a pressing state.
[0013]
Further, it prevents dust and the like from adhering to the reading area of the reading means, removes foreign matter such as paper dust adhering to the reading area, maintains good reading accuracy of the reading means, and further improves the surface of the roller. It is an object of the present invention to provide a means capable of removing foreign matter adhering to a camera and providing accurate shading correction reference information.
[0014]
[Means for Solving the Problems]
An image reading apparatus according to the present invention includes a first reading unit that reads one surface of a front surface or a back surface of a document being conveyed on a conveyance path, a second reading unit that reads the other surface, and a second reading unit that reads the other surface. In an image reading apparatus comprising a roller rotatably pressed against a reading area, the second reading means and the roller are provided so as to be able to contact and separate from each other, and at least an outer peripheral portion of the roller has bubbles on its surface. Having an elastic member.
[0015]
The elastic member provided on the outer periphery of the roller reduces the pressing force applied to the reading area of the second reading unit when the second reading unit and the roller are in pressure contact with each other. When the roller and the roller are changed from the separated state to the pressed state, the impact applied to the reading area of the second reading unit is reduced. In addition, when the document is transported while being nipped by the second reading means and the roller, foreign matter such as paper dust adhered to the reading area of the second reading means and paper dust of the document is generated by bubbles on the surface of the elastic member. Remove by taking in bubbles.
[0016]
In the present invention, the term “separable” refers to a state in which the second reading unit and the roller are in pressure contact with each other at the time of reading an image, and the user can arbitrarily separate the roller according to the necessity of removing a paper jam or performing maintenance. In addition, in addition to the configuration of the image reading apparatus, for example, a lid that can be opened and closed is provided on a housing or the like that houses the second reading unit and the roller for removing a paper jam, and the opening and closing of the lid and the second reading unit It widely includes well-known configurations such as a configuration in which contact with and separation from rollers are linked.
[0017]
In the present invention, the roller is disposed on an upper surface of a main body frame, and the second reading means is disposed on a document pressing plate provided on the main body frame so as to be openable and closable.
[0018]
Further, according to the present invention, a foreign matter accommodating portion for accommodating foreign matter falling from the roller is provided below the roller. The foreign matter falling from the roller is paper dust or the like that has been taken in the bubbles of the elastic member and removed from the reading area of the second reading unit or the surface of the document, and the paper dust or the like naturally or from the bubbles. It is dropped by the centrifugal force, or is forcibly dropped by a brush or the like, and is collected in the foreign matter storage portion.
[0019]
Further, according to the present invention, a reference member for shading correction is provided over a part of the surface of the roller in an axial direction of the roller, and the reference member is provided in a reading area of the second reading unit at the time of shading correction. The rotation of the roller is controlled so as to be pressed.
[0020]
In the present invention, shading correction is intended to correct variations in sensitivity of each pixel of the reading unit and uneven illumination, and reads a reference member such as white or black before reading an original, and corrects correction data. It is done by obtaining
[0021]
Further, the present invention includes a detecting unit that detects a position of the reference member and outputs a detection signal, and a control unit that controls driving of the roller based on the detection signal.

【The invention's effect】
As described above, according to the image reading apparatus of the present invention, by providing the elastic member having bubbles on the surface, at least on the outer peripheral portion of the roller rotatably pressed against the reading area of the second reading unit, It is possible to prevent and remove adhesion of paper dust and the like to the reading area of the second reading means. Thereby, the image reading accuracy of the second reading unit can be kept good. Further, the pressing force and the impact applied to the second reading unit and the roller are reduced, and damage and rattling of the second reading unit and the roller can be prevented. In particular, the roller is disposed on the upper surface of the main body frame, and The effect is remarkable in a configuration in which the reading means is provided on a document pressing plate provided on the main body frame so as to be freely opened and closed.
[0057]
Further, according to the present invention, since the foreign matter storage portion for storing foreign matter falling from the roller is provided below the roller, foreign matter such as paper dust dropped from the roller can be accumulated at a predetermined position, Reattachment of paper dust and the like can be prevented, and disposal of foreign matter becomes easy.
[0058]
Further, according to the present invention, a reference member for shading correction is provided over a part of the surface of the roller in the axial direction of the roller, and the reference member is pressed against the reading area of the second reading unit. By controlling the rotation of the roller as described above, the shading correction of the second reading unit can be accurately performed.
