Abstract
Description
【0001】

V2=V1×(I2/I1)…(2)
V2=V1×(I2/I1)×η…(3)
【0025】

TECHNICAL FIELD OF THE INVENTION
The present invention relates to a fuel cell, a fuel cell voltage control method for flattening the output voltage of the fuel cell, and a mobile terminal equipped with the fuel cell.
[0002]
[Prior art]
Fuel cells generate electric energy by a chemical reaction between hydrogen and oxygen. In recent years, fuel cells have begun to be favorably used in electric vehicles, portable communication terminal devices, and the like. In particular, portable communication terminal devices (hereinafter, referred to as portable terminals) such as mobile phones and PDAs (Personal Digital Assistants) tend to increase power consumption due to higher functionality and higher performance. To respond to this situation, technological development of secondary batteries, such as lithium-ion batteries, is progressing at a rapid pace, but it is difficult to find one that satisfies the battery capacity corresponding to high functionality and high performance. Is in a situation that cannot be achieved. Therefore, recently, in the field of mobile terminals, fuel cells that can cope with higher functions and higher performance have been attracting attention.
[0003]
Techniques related to fuel cells have been reported in many documents. For example, the following Non-Patent
[0004]
Further, since a fuel cell requires various output voltages depending on the equipment used, it is necessary to change the value of the output voltage depending on the type of equipment on the load side. For example,

[0006]
[Problems to be solved by the invention]
However, as shown in FIG. 5, the fuel cell has a characteristic that the output voltage under no load becomes considerably higher than the rated output voltage. FIG. 5 shows the current-voltage characteristics of the fuel cells (a), (b), and (c) having different numbers of cells, with the horizontal axis representing the output current and the vertical axis representing the output voltage. Regardless of the number of cells of the fuel cell, the output voltage is substantially higher than the rated output voltage in a substantially no-load state in which the output current is close to zero. For example, for the fuel cell of the number of certain cells (a), when used in a range of a predetermined allowable voltage of the rated output voltage V c, the output current can be used in the range of I 1 of I 2. However, the output voltage at no load (0A) is becomes the V h, devices on the load side to lead to a over-voltage breakdown. Similarly, with respect to the fuel cells (b) and (c), when no load is applied, the output voltage may increase and the equipment operating at the rated voltage may be damaged by overvoltage.
[0007]
In addition, when the rated voltage of the load-side device is high, the number of fuel cells in series must be necessarily increased, and as a result, the size of the fuel cell increases. As a result, for example, a portable terminal or the like becomes larger or heavier, and the advantage as a handy type device is lost, and as a result, it becomes inconvenient for the user.
[0008]
The present invention has been made in view of the above-described problems, and maintains a predetermined output voltage from no load to a rated current so that an overvoltage does not occur, and provides a high output voltage independent of the number of cells. It is an object of the present invention to provide a fuel cell that can be generated, a voltage control method for the fuel cell, and a mobile terminal equipped with the fuel cell.
[0009]
[Means for Solving the Problems]
In order to achieve the above object, a fuel cell according to the present invention has a reduced voltage type constant voltage in which a single fuel cell and a battery voltage of the single fuel cell are input and a constant voltage control is performed at a voltage lower than the rated value of the battery voltage. Circuit, and a step-down constant voltage circuit is configured to output a constant voltage within a change range of an output current and a no-load current depending on characteristics of an output current-output voltage of the fuel cell alone. I have. Alternatively, a fuel cell alone, and a battery voltage of the fuel cell alone, and a voltage raising type constant voltage circuit that performs constant voltage control at a voltage higher than the rated voltage of the battery voltage, A constant voltage that is higher than the rated voltage of the fuel cell alone within a change range between a current smaller than the output current of the fuel cell alone and a no-load current based on the power value that depends on the output current-output voltage characteristics of the fuel cell alone. Is configured to be output.
[0010]
According to such a fuel cell, the non-linear characteristic of the output current-output voltage of the fuel cell is improved, and a constant voltage can always be supplied to the load from no load to the rated current. Therefore, there is no possibility that the overvoltage generated when the fuel cell is not loaded causes the load-side devices and components to be destroyed. Further, even if the number of cells of the fuel cell is small, a high voltage controlled at a constant voltage can be generated and supplied to the load, so that the fuel cell does not increase in size. Therefore, a hand-held device such as a portable terminal can be further reduced in size and weight.
[0011]
