TECHNICAL FIELD OF THE INVENTION
The present invention relates to
[0002]
[Prior art]
In recent years, organic semiconductors composed of an amorphous film of an organic substance have been used in various electronic devices. For example, in an electrophotographic apparatus, a binder resin such as a polycarbonate resin and a low-molecular-weight organic compound such as a triphenylamine derivative having a light-to-electron conversion function are dissolved in an appropriate organic solvent, which is coated and dried. And an organic amorphous film, which is used as a hole transport layer (see Patent Document 1). Similarly, in a solar cell, a so-called “starburst” compound is dissolved in an appropriate organic solvent, applied and dried to form an organic amorphous film, which is used as an organic p-type semiconductor film. (See Patent Document 2).
[0003]
Conventionally, as described above, a low molecular weight organic compound having a light-to-electron conversion function is used as a coating composition together with a binder resin, applied to an appropriate substrate, and dried to form an organic semiconductor film composed of an organic amorphous film. Is formed. However, since many low molecular weight organic compounds conventionally known have a low oxidation potential, as described above, when forming an organic semiconductor film by the coating method, the low molecular weight organic compound used is easily oxidized, and thus, In addition, since film formation is not easy and reversibility in the oxidation-reduction process is not sufficient, there is a problem that it is difficult to form a practical organic semiconductor film having excellent durability. Furthermore, since the obtained organic semiconductor film has insufficient heat resistance, an electronic device using the same has a problem that its stability and durability are poor.
[0004]
On the other hand, conventionally, as such a low-molecular-weight organic compound having a photo-electron conversion function for forming an organic amorphous film, typically, for example, N, N, N ′, N′-tetramethylbenzidine , N, N, N ', N'-tetraphenyl- (1,1'-biphenyl) -4,4'-diamine, N, N'-diethyl-N, N'-diphenyl- (1,1'- Biphenyl) -4,4'-diamine, N, N, N ', N'-tetra (3-methylphenyl) -4,4'-diaminostilbene and the like are known, but these low molecular weight organic The compounds themselves are inferior in stability of the amorphous film to be used as a charge transporting agent in the organic photoreceptor, and therefore, as described above, a high molecular weight resin is used as a binder and dissolved therein, Or dispersed (ie, diluted In this state, an organic amorphous film is formed by applying the composition on a substrate.
[0005]
As described above, according to the conventional organic amorphous film, the low molecular weight organic compound having the light-to-electron conversion function is affected by the binder resin as the matrix and is diluted, so that its original characteristics can be sufficiently improved. Can not demonstrate. Furthermore, such conventional low-molecular-weight organic compounds can be formed with the help of a binder, even though a relatively stable amorphous film can be formed at room temperature because of their low glass transition temperature and poor heat resistance. The electronic devices used have problems in stability and lifetime.
[0006]
Therefore, in recent years, as a low-molecular-weight organic compound having a light-to-electron conversion function, the development of a low-molecular-weight organic compound capable of forming an amorphous film by itself at a temperature equal to or higher than ordinary temperature has been developed, and a so-called “star burst” has been developed. Various nitrogen-containing polynuclear aromatic compounds called molecular groups have been proposed as being useful as such materials.
[0007]
Such starburst molecules are classified into three groups based on their molecular structures, namely, those having a triphenylamine skeleton (triphenylamines), those having a triaminobenzene skeleton (triaminobenzenes), and triphenylbenzene. It is roughly classified into those having a skeleton (triphenylbenzenes). In addition to these, those having a triphenylmethane skeleton have been proposed.
[0008]
Among them, triphenylamines include, for example, 4,4 ′, 4 ″ -tris (N, N-diphenylamino) triphenylamine (TDATA) (1)
[0009]

[0010]
(See Patent Document 3) and 4,4 ′, 4 ″ -tris (N-phenyl-Nm-tolylamino) triphenylamine (m-MTDATA) (2)

[0012]
(See Patent Document 3), 4,4 ', 4 "-tris (N- (2-naphthyl) -N-phenylamino) triphenylamine (2-TNATA) (3)

[0014]
(See Patent Document 4), 4,4 ′, 4 ″ -tris (N- (1-naphthyl) -N-phenylamino) triphenylamine (1-TNATA) and the like are known.
[0015]
Such triphenylamines have a reversible redox process, but have an oxidation potential (oxidation potential with respect to an Ag / Ag + electrode, the same applies hereinafter) of about 0.1 V or less. As described above, there is a problem that the organic semiconductor film is easily oxidized when the organic semiconductor film is formed by the coating method.
[0016]
In addition, m-MTDATA has a glass transition temperature of about 77 ° C., and has poor heat resistance for use in practical electronic devices. 2- or 1-TNATA has a glass transition temperature of about 110 ° C. Although it forms an organic amorphous film having excellent heat resistance, it has a property of being relatively easily crystallized, and thus has a problem that the amorphous film lacks stability and life.
[0017]
Examples of triphenylbenzenes include 1,3,5-tris (4-N, N-diphenylaminophenyl) benzene (TDAPB) (4)
[0018]

[0019]

[0020]

[0021]
Is known (see Non-Patent Document 1).
[0022]
Such triphenylbenzenes form an amorphous film and have an oxidation potential in the range of 0.6 to 0.7 V, but are used as a practical organic semiconductor because the oxidation-reduction process is irreversible. Not suitable for

Examples of triaminobenzenes include 1,3,5-tris (N-methylphenyl-N-phenylamino) benzene (6) (MTDAB)

Are known (see Non-Patent Document 1).
[0026]
Such triaminobenzenes also have an oxidation potential of about 0.5 to 0.6 V. However, like the above-mentioned triphenylbenzenes, the oxidation-reduction process is irreversible and the glass transition The temperature is about 60 ° C. or lower. Therefore, it is not suitable for use as a practical organic semiconductor, and also has a problem in terms of heat resistance.

[Problems to be solved by the invention]
The present invention has been made to solve such a problem in a conventional starburst molecule having a triaminobenzene skeleton as an organic semiconductor material, and has an oxidation potential of about 0.5 to 0.6 V. It has excellent reversibility in the oxidation-reduction process, has a high glass transition temperature, and has excellent heat resistance. Therefore, it is easy to produce an organic semiconductor film with excellent practicality by a coating method or a vacuum evaporation method. A stable amorphous film can be formed on its own at a temperature higher than room temperature, that is, without the aid of a binder resin. It is an object of the present invention to provide
