<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve the advertisement effect of a Web page with a limited display area in addition to the effective use thereof. <P>SOLUTION: The Web page consists of two layers of a upper layer 101, 12 or 103 and a lower layer, and the upper layer and the lower layer are displayed in the same position. When a specified operation such as erasing, moving or modification is performed to the upper layer, the content of the lower layer is displayed. Advertisement information is displayed on the upper layer, and general information other than advertisement is displayed on the lower layer. Otherwise, advertisement information customized for every user is displayed on the upper layer, and non-customized general advertisement information is displayed on the lower layer. Since two pieces of information can be displayed in the same area, the Web page with the limited display area can be effectively used. 本発明は、情報配信サーバによりインターネットを介して配信された広告情報を、利用者端末に表示されたウェブページ上に表示するための広告情報表示方法およびシステムに関する。

【従来の技術】
近年、情報配信サーバにより配信された各種情報をインターネットを介して受信し、利用者端末上のウェブページ上に表示するためのウェブページ表示システムが広く利用されている（例えば非特許文献１。）。

このようなウェブページ表示システムの従来の構成を図６に示す。この図６に示される従来のウェブページ表示システムでは、情報の配信を行っている情報配信サーバ１１０と、情報配信サーバ１１０により提供される情報をウェブページとして表示する利用者端末１３０とが、インターネット２０により接続されている。

情報配信サーバ１１０は、配信しようとする情報が記憶されている情報記憶部７０１と、情報記憶部７０１に記憶されている情報をインターネット２０を介して配信する情報配信部７０２とから構成されている。

また、利用者端末１３０は、インターネット２０を介して情報配信サーバ１１０から配信されてきた情報を受信する情報受信部７０３と、情報受信部７０３により受信された情報をウェブページとして表示する画面表示部７０４とから構成されている。

このような従来のウェブページ表示システムにおいて、利用者端末１３０の画面表示部７０４上に表示されるウェブページの一例を図７に示す。

この図７では、画面の一部にバナー広告５０１といわれる広告表示が行われている。一般に、バナー広告は利用者がクリック操作によって選択することができ、クリックした場合は、広告主のウェブページにジャンプすることが多い。

このように情報配信サーバによりウェブページを配信する際に、そのウェブページ上に各種の広告情報を表示するための広告情報表示システムも広く普及している。

しかし、上述した従来の広告情報表示方法のように、ウェブページ上にバナー広告等を表示した場合には、そのエリアはそのバナー広告にみしか表示できない。そのため、バナー広告の数を増やしたり、１つのバナー広告の面積を大きくしたりすると、広告情報以外の一般情報を表示することができる面積が狭くなってしまう。

例えば、図７を見ればわかるように、バナー広告５０１が表示されているために、一定の表示領域を占領し、そのエリアには広告以外の情報を表示することができない。広告を選択、あるいはクリック操作をすれば利用者は広告主のウェブページにジャンプしてしまう。このため、情報を見ることが主目的である利用者にとっては、画面の表示面積の利用が非効率的であると感じられる可能性がある。

また、図７に示したようにバナー広告５０１を表示するエリアが固定されていると、利用者はそのエリアを見なくなる。つまり、広告提供主にとっては、広告が有効に機能していないことになる。例えば図７において、利用者がバナー広告５０１にあまり目を向けずに他のエリアの情報だけを見てしまう可能性があり、このことは広告提供主にとっては好ましいことではない。

また、従来の広告情報表示システムの他の例が、例えば特許文献１に記載されている。この従来の広告情報表示システムは利用者の属性や嗜好に応じてカスタマイズしたウェブページの自動生成システムであって、利用者が自分の属性や興味をシステムに登録しておくと、システムはそれに従って適切な情報を選択して画面上に組み合わせて表示する。具体的な表示方法については上記の特許文献１の段落［００４８］から始まる文章において説明されている。ウェブブラウザのフレーム方式については、この特許文献１の段落［００４９］で述べられているように、「コンテンツ表示領域であるフレームの大きさはあらかじめ定められており、通常１フレーム内には１つのコンテンツのみが表示される」方式となっている。この方式はウェブブラウザの画面表示方法として一般に用いられているものであり、画面を複数の長方形領域に分割し、その長方形の中に１つの情報を表示する。特許文献１の段落［００４９］にはフレームを用いない表示方法が述べられており、「例えば、コンテンツ１〜５が縦長の用紙に上から順番に貼り付けられており、」と記載されている。これもウェブブラウザの表示方法として一般的に用いられているものである。このような方式を用いた広告情報表示方法の例を図８に示す。

この図８は、特定の利用者の属性や興味を反映した画面表示の一例である。この画面では、一般の株価情報の代わりに「＊＊電機の株価」が表示され、一般の占い情報の代わりに「山羊座の運勢」が表示され、一般的なテレビ番組の代わりにある特定の放送局の「＊＊＊番組」が表示されている。

しかし、この従来のウェブページ表示方法では、ある一般情報をその利用者向けにカスタマイズした場合、同一カテゴリーの一般的情報およびカスタマイズした情報を同時に表示することが困難であるため、利用者はカスタマイズした情報を見ることはできるが、逆に一般情報を見ることができなくなってしまう。図８に示した例では、一般の株価情報の代わりに「＊＊電機の株価」を表示したり、一般の占い情報の変わりに「山羊座の運勢」を表示したりしている。しかし、利用者がこの画面を見たときに、自分の属性や興味に合致した情報を見ることはできるが、逆に一般的な情報を簡単に見ることができない。

また、広告情報をある特定の利用者向けにカスタマイズした場合も同様に、ウェブページ上の表示エリアが限られた場合、カスタマイズした広告情報とカスタマイズしていない一般的な広告情報の両方をウェブページ上に表示することが困難な場合がある。

【発明が解決しようとする課題】
上述した従来の広告情報表示システムでは、下記のような問題を有していた。
（１）利用者端末におけるウェブページの表示面積は限られているため、ウェブページ上に広告表示を行うと、広告情報以外の一般情報を表示するためのエリアが狭くなりウェブページの有効利用が図られない、またカスタマイズされた広告情報とカスタマイズされていない一般的な広告情報を同時に表示することが困難である。
（２）広告情報を表示エリアが固定されていると利用者はその広告情報に注意を払わなくなり、広告掲載の効果が発揮されない。

本発明の目的は、限られた表示面積のウェブページの有効利用を図ることができる広告情報表示システムおよび方法を提供することである。

さらに、本発明の他の目的は、広告掲載の効果を有効に発揮することができる広告情報表示システムおよび方法を提供することである。

【課題を解決するための手段】
上記目的を達成するために、本発明による広告情報表示方法は、情報配信サーバによりインターネットを介して配信された広告情報を、利用者端末に表示されたウェブページ上に表示するための広告情報表示方法において、
利用者端末に表示される前記ウェブページを上位レイヤと下位レイヤとの２つのレイヤにより構成し、広告情報を表示した上位レイヤ表示に対して特定の操作を行うことにより、広告情報以外の一般情報を表示している下位レイヤの内容が表示されることを特徴とする。

本発明によれば、ウェブページを２つのレイヤにより構成し、上位レイヤの広告表示に対して特定の操作を行うことにより下位レイヤに表示された一般情報の内容が表示されるようにしたので、同一のエリアに複数の情報を表示することが可能となり、ウェブページの表示面積を効果的に活用できることができる。

また、本発明によれば、上位レイヤに広告情報を表示して、下位レイヤに一般的な情報を表示するようにしているので、利用者は、自分が本当に見たい情報を見るためにいったん広告エリアに目を置いて、そのエリアを消去したり移動したりすることになるので、広告エリアを利用者が見る可能性は、高くなり、広告の表示効果をより高められる。

インターネットを介して前記情報配信サーバの前記情報配信手段から配信される情報を受信する情報受信手段と、前記情報受信手段が受信した情報の中で上位レイヤに表示すべき広告情報を描画する上位レイヤ表示手段と、前記情報受信手段が受信した情報の中で下位レイヤに表示すべき一般情報を描画する下位レイヤ表示手段と、前記下位レイヤ表示手段により描画された下位レイヤ表示の上に、前記上位レイヤ表示手段により描画された上位レイヤ表示を重ねるようにしてウェブページを構成し、前記上位レイヤ表示に対してある特定の操作が行われると、前記下位レイヤ表示の内容が表示されるような制御を行う表示制御手段と、前記表示制御手段により制御されるウェブページを表示するための画面表示手段とを備えた利用者端末とから構成されている。

前記広告情報配信サーバの前記第１の情報配信手段および前記一般情報配信サーバの第２の情報配信手段からインターネットを介して配信される情報を受信する情報受信手段と、前記情報受信手段が受信した情報の中で上位レイヤに表示すべき広告情報を描画する上位レイヤ表示手段と、前記情報受信手段が受信した情報の中で下位レイヤに表示すべき一般情報を描画する下位レイヤ表示手段と、前記下位レイヤ表示手段により描画された下位レイヤ表示の上に、前記上位レイヤ表示手段により描画された上位レイヤ表示を重ねるようにしてウェブページを構成し、前記上位レイヤ表示に対してある特定の操作が行われると、前記下位レイヤ表示の内容が表示されるような制御を行う表示制御手段と、前記表示制御手段により制御されるウェブページを表示するための画面表示手段とを備えた利用者端末とから構成されている。

次に、本発明の実施の形態について図面を参照して詳細に説明する。

（第１の実施形態）
図１は本発明の第１の実施形態の広告情報表示システムの構成を示すブロック図である。この図１に示される本実施形態の広告情報表示システムでは、情報の配信を行っている情報配信サーバ１０と、情報配信サーバ１０により提供される情報をウェブページとして表示する利用者端末３０とが、インターネット２０により接続されている。

本実施形態の広告情報表示システムでは、利用者端末３０に表示されるウェブページ等の情報表示画面を上位レイヤと下位レイヤという２つのレイヤにより構成し、最初は広告情報を表示するための上位レイヤの内容のみが表示されるようにし、上位レイヤの表示に対して操作を行うと、広告情報以外の一般情報を表示する下位レイヤの内容が表示されるようにしたものである。

上位レイヤと下位レイヤとを表示し、上位レイヤに対する操作により下位レイヤが出現するような表示方法を実現するに当たっては、ウェブページにおいて動的に変化する表示を実現するためのスクリプト言語（例えばＪａｖａ（登録商標）Ｓｃｒｉｐｔ）や、動きを伴うウェブページを実装するソフトウェアであるマクロメディア社の「ＦＬＡＳＨ」などを利用することができる。

本実施形態のウェブ表示方法では、上位レイヤと下位レイヤとを重ねて表示することが必要となる。ウェブページ上において、文字や形状の表示位置を指定する方法に関しては、例えば「ＨＴＭＬ＋ＣＳＳＨａｎｄｂｏｏｋ」（ソフトバンクパブリッシング株式会社発行：ＩＳＢＮ４−７９７３−１９７６−３）の３７９ページにおいて、「配置の方法を指定する」として述べられている。表示位置は、絶対座標を用いて指定することも、他の部品からの相対位置を用いて指定することも可能であるので、下位レイヤに表示したものの上に上位レイヤを重ねて表示するように指定することは容易に実現可能である。また、上記はＨＴＭＬで記述されたウェブページを構成する場合の表示位置指定方法であるが、例えばマクロメディア社のＦＬＡＳＨ技術等を用いる場合でも、同様の指定は容易である。

次に、本実施形態の広告情報表示システムによって上位レイヤと下位レイヤの表示が切り替わる動作の具体的例について図面を参照して説明する。

先ず、本実施形態の広告情報表示方法により最初に表示されるウェブページ表示画面の一例を図２に示す。

図２は画面表示部３０７に最初に表示されるウェブページの一例であり、上位レイヤ１０１、１０２、１０３と、下位レイヤ（図１中のその他の部分）から構成されている。図３は、図２の表示画面において利用者がいくつかの操作をした後の画面例を示したものである。図２の画面において、上位レイヤ１０１および上位レイヤ１０２に表示された広告の中にある「×」ボタンを選択して上位レイヤを削除することによって、図３では「今日の株価」および「＊＊電気」という情報が表示されている。また、図２の画面において表示された「東京の天気」という上位エリア１０３を移動することによって、図３における「全国の天気」という情報が表示されている。

上位レイヤに対する操作として、上述では「×」ボタンを押すことによるエリアの削除と、エリアの移動とを述べたが、他にもさまざまな操作方法が考えられる。エリアの削除方法としては、エリア内部を入力装置（マウス等）でクリックすることによる削除や、別途表示されるメニューから「削除」機能を選択することなどが考えられる。またエリアの移動としても、エリア自体を入力装置でドラッグ操作することによる移動や、メニューによる移動などが考えられる。

また、エリアに対する操作としては削除、移動に限られるものではない。例えば、上位レイヤをクリックすると上位レイヤがアニメーションを伴って徐々に透明になり、最終的に透けて下位レイヤが見えるようになることが考えられる。あるいは、上位レイヤをクリックするとあたかも紙が裏返る（反転する）ようなアニメーションを伴って下位レイヤが出現することが考えられる。さらに、これらの削除、移動、透明化、裏返しなどのアニメーションを組み合わせて上位レイヤと下位レイヤとを入れ替えることも可能である。

また、図４は、図２の表示画面において利用者が上位レイヤ１０１、１０２、１０３に対して操作を行った後の表示画面の他の例である。

図４では、図２における上位レイヤ１０１に対してある特定の操作を行ったことにより上位レイヤ１０１が徐々に透明になり最終的には透けて下位レイヤの内容が見えるようになっている。また、図２における上位レイヤ１０２に対してある特定の操作を行うことにより上位レイヤ１０２が裏返り、下位レイヤの内容を見ることができるようになる様子が示されている。また、図２における上位レイヤ１０３に対して、表示エリアを狭くするという変形操作を行うことにより、下位レイヤの内容を見ることができるようになる様子が示されている。

さらに、特に利用者が操作をしなくても上位レイヤと下位レイヤとを予め設定された時間間隔で自動的に入れ替えることも考えられる。例えば、利用者がウェブページを指定して表示すると、最初の一定秒数は上位レイヤを表示し、その秒数が経過後は下位レイヤを表示することも考えられる。また、これらを周期的に繰り返し、広告情報と、広告情報以外の一般情報を順番に表示したり、一般情報と個人向けにカスタマイズした情報を順番に表示することも考えられる。ここで、一般情報とは配信する利用者を特に特定しない情報である。

本実施形態の広告情報表示システムは、上記説明したようにウェブページを上位レイヤと下位レイヤとで構成する表示方法を実現するものである。このようにすることにより、上位レイヤと下位レイヤとにそれぞれ異なる情報を表示することができ、限られた表示面積のウェブページの有効利用を図ることができる。例えば、ウェブページ上に広告を表示する場合、従来はそのエリアは広告情報を表示するためだけに用いられいて、一般情報を表示するための面積はその分だけ狭くなっていた。これに対して、本実施形態によれば、広告情報を上位レイヤに表示し広告情報以外の一般情報を下位レイヤに表示するようなことが可能なため、広告情報が表示された上位レイヤを閉じたり移動したりすることにより、その下に情報表示領域を設けることができるので、同じ面積をより有効活用できる。

このように、上位レイヤには広告情報を表示し、下位レイヤには広告情報ではない一般情報またはその広告に対して興味を持つ利用者が特に見たいであろう広告の詳細情報を表示するようにすれば、広告掲載効果をより高くすることができる。つまり、本実施形態のようにして広告情報を表示すると、利用者は、自分が本当に見たい情報を見るためにいったん広告情報が表示されている上位エリアに目を向けて、その上位エリアを消去したり移動したりする等の操作を行うことになる。これにより、広告エリアを利用者が見る可能性は高くなり、広告の表示効果をより高めることができる。

また、本実施形態とは逆に、上位レイヤに広告情報以外の一般情報を表示し、下位レイヤに広告情報を表示するようにしてもよい。このようにしても、上位レイヤに表示される一般情報に興味を持った利用者が、下位レイヤの広告表示を見る可能性を高めることができ同様に広告掲載の効果の向上を図ることができる。

また、例えば、上位レイヤに個人向けにカスタマイズした広告情報を表示し、下位レイヤにカスタマイズされていない一般的な広告情報を表示するようにしてもよい。これにより、利用者はまず自分に興味ある情報を確認し、その後、上位レイヤを消去したり移動したりすると、その情報に関する一般的情報を見ることができる。上位レイヤと下位レイヤとの内容は逆であっても良い。つまり、上位レイヤに一般的情報を表示し、下位レイヤに個人向けにカスタマイズした情報を表示することも可能である。このような方法を用いれば、同じ面積内に一般情報とカスタマイズ情報を表示することができるので、従来と比較して表示面積を活用できる。

例えば、オンラインショッピングサイトにおいて、利用者のそれまでの購入履歴を参照し、仮に恐竜の本を何冊か買っていることがわかっている場合、「恐竜の生態（古代シリーズ第２巻）発売！」というような広告を上位レイヤに表示することにより利用者の注目を集め、下位レイヤに「古代シリーズ刊行」とう広告を出すようなことが想定できる。ここで、「古代シリーズ」というのは複数巻から成り、そのうちの第２巻が「恐竜の生態」であると仮定しています。古代シリーズだけでは注目を得にくいので、カスタマイズされた広告情報を上位レイヤに表示し、それに興味をもった利用者が、そのエリアをクリックすると、さらに一般的な広告情報を提示して、利用者に対して広範囲の広告を行うようなことが考えられる。

さらに、上記とは逆に、上位レイヤに一般的な広告情報を表示し、下位レイヤにカスタマイズされた広告情報を表示するようにしてもよい。つまり、上記の具体的では、上位レイヤにおいて「古代シリーズ刊行」というように、一般的な情報を掲示して、広く利用者の興味をひき、下位レイヤで「「恐竜の生態」発売」というように、より利用者に販売しようとする商品を掲示するというようにしてもよい。

どちらの方法にしても、カスタマイズされた広告情報と、カスタマイズされていない一般的な広告情報を上位レイヤと下位レイヤに分けて表示するようにすることにより、限られた表示面積を有効に利用することができるとともに広告効果を高めることが可能となる。

次ぎに、本発明の第２の実施形態の広告情報表示システムについて説明する。

本実施形態の広告情報表示システムは、図１に示した第１の実施形態の広告情報表示システムに対して、情報配信サーバ１０が、ネットワーク上異なる場所に接続されている広告配信サーバ１１および一般情報配信サーバ１２に置き換えられている点のみが異なっている。
