この発明は、半導体やその他電子装置の製造工場等におけるクリーンルーム内で、基板等の部品を搬送するためのローラーコンベアに関する。

従来、半導体やその他電子装置、光学機器等の精密機械、製薬及びバイオ産業等のクリーンな環境を必要とする分野での研究や作業は、空気中の埃をほとんど除去したクリーンルーム内で行われている。従って、クリーンルーム内で用いられる搬送装置にもクリーンルームを汚染しないように、低発塵性の機構が要求されている。

このクリーンルーム内での低発塵性の搬送装置として、特許文献1に開示されているようなローラーコンベアがあった。このローラーコンベアは、ローラー軸の一端部にプーリーを固定し、各ローラー軸に設けられたプーリーに平ベルトを掛け渡した駆動機構としたものである。そして、駆動系をカバーで覆って発塵を抑えたものである。

【発明が解決しようとする課題】
上記従来の技術のローラーコンベアの場合、駆動用の平ベルトの材質がウレタン系の樹脂であり内部に心材を備えた多層構造であることから、ベルト側面等からの発塵性が高く、しかも耐薬品性が低く、劣化しやすいものであった。しかも、駆動系をカバーで覆っても、カバーの隙間やローラー軸の軸受け部からの発塵が抑えきれず、クリーンルーム内のクリーン度を落とす原因となっていた。

この発明は上記従来の問題点に鑑みてなされたものであり、簡単な構成で、駆動機構での発塵を抑え、長期間の使用にもクリーン度を維持しつつ動作可能なローラーコンベアを提供することを目的とする。

【課題を解決するための手段】
この発明は、駆動用のモータと、このモータに接続された駆動プーリーと、この駆動プーリーに掛け渡された平ベルトと、この平ベルトが掛け渡された複数の従動プーリーと、この従動プーリーが同軸に固定されたローラー軸と、このローラー軸を保持した基台と、上記ローラー軸に固定された搬送用ローラーとを備えたローラーコンベアであって、上記駆動プーリー及び従動プーリーは中央部が太い太鼓状に形成され、上記平ベルトはポリエステル等の単一素材により形成されたものである。

また、上記基台は中空の押出形材により形成され、この中空部を貫通して上記ローラー軸が設けられ、この中空部に面して上記ローラー軸の軸受けが上記基台に設けられ、上記基台の中空部を密閉状態にするとともに上記中空部内を負圧にする吸引手段を接続可能としたものである。

上記平ベルトが掛け渡された側の上記基台側面を密閉状態で覆うカバーを備え、上記ローラー軸の軸受けを介して、上記基台の中空部の負圧が上記カバー内に及ぶようにしたものである。

【発明の実施の形態】
以下、この発明の実施形態について図面に基づいて説明する。図1〜図4はこの発明の一実施形態を示すもので、この実施形態のローラーコンベア10は、例えば液晶ディスプレイの基板2をクリーンルーム内で搬送するためのものである。このローラーコンベア10は、矩形状の基台12の内側下方に取り付けられた駆動用のモータ14と、このモータ14の駆動軸16に同軸に固定された駆動プーリー18とを備えている。駆動プーリー18は、周面の中央部が太い太鼓状に形成され、中央部には溝20が全周に形成されて、この溝20にOリング22が嵌合している。

基台12には、駆動軸16と平行に複数のローラー軸24が所定間隔で軸支されている。ローラー軸24の一端部の基台12の外側面には、従動プーリー26が固定され、ローラー軸24とともに回転自在に設けられている。従動プーリー26も、周面の中央部が太い太鼓状に形成されている。駆動プーリー18と従動プーリー26には、平ベルト28が掛け渡されている。基台12の平ベルト28が設けられた一側面には、回転自在のアイドラー30が従動プーリー26に対応して配置され、さらに、平ベルト28の張力を調整するテンションローラー32が、基台12の長手方向に位置調整可能に設けられている。平ベルト28は、駆動プーリー18、従動プーリー26、アイドラー30、及びテンションローラー32に掛け渡され、各従動プーリー26を等速で駆動可能に設けられている。この平ベルト28は、柔軟なポリエステル等の単一素材により形成されたもので、例えばクリーンルーム用のベルトコンベアのベルトに利用されているものを、所定幅に切断して利用し得る。

従動プーリー26が同軸に固定されたローラー軸24には、基台12の内側の開口位置に、ローラー軸24に固定された複数の搬送用ローラー34が所定間隔で設けられている。搬送用ローラー34は、その周面の頂点位置が全て同一面上に位置し、基板2等の搬送物を滑らかに搬送する。

基台12は、図3,図4に示すように、中空の押出形材により矩形に形成され、平ベルト28が掛け渡された側の中空形材36の中空部36aを貫通して、駆動軸16やローラー軸24が軸支されている。そして、中空形材36には、中空部36aに面して、駆動軸16の軸受け38や、ローラー軸24の軸受け40が設けられている。

この実施形態のローラーコンベア10は、平ベルト28をポリエステル等の単一素材により形成されたものを用いて、発塵性の低い構成としている。さらに、基台12の中空形材36,42を利用して吸引を行っているので、軸受け部等の駆動機構からの発塵も効果的に抑えることができる。さらに、基台の中空部を利用して軸受けや平ベルト、プーリー等から生じる埃を吸引しているので、吸引のための構成を必要とせず、装置の小型化にも寄与する。また、透明なカバー46で駆動機構部分を覆ったので、平ベルト28等の様子を外部から容易に確認することができる。

なお、この発明のローラーコンベアは、上記実施形態に限定されるものではなく、平ベルトの材質は、単一素材で適宜変更可能なものである。また吸引機構も、基台の構造を利用したものであれば良く、中空形材の形状は適宜設定可能であり、また、カバーを利用して吸引経路を形成しても良い。

次にこの発明のローラーコンベアの実施例による実験結果について説明する。対比のために、従来の平ベルトを用いて、駆動部における吸引のない場合と、この発明の平ベルトを用いたローラーコンベアで基台12の中空形材を用いた吸引のない場合とある場合で、埃の大きさ別に埃の数をカウントしたものを以下の表1,表2,表3にまとめた。

ここで、各ローラーコンベアとも機長が2000mmで、880mmの基板を往復動作させる駆動を行なう実験をした。駆動速度は0m/minから10m/minで加速、減速を繰り返す往復運動をさせた。コンベア上部では気流はほとんど0の状態である。

以上より、吸引のない場合でも従来の平ベルトを用いたものと比較して、本願の平ベルトを用いたものの方が、表1,表2の対比からわかるように、埃の発生が極めて少ないものであった。さらに、基台の中空形材を利用した吸引を行うことにより、表3に示すように、コンベア上における発塵をほとんど無くすことができるものであった。

この発明のローラーコンベアは、粉塵をクリーンルーム内に発生させず、確実にクリーンルームの清浄な空気雰囲気を維持することができる。特に、ローラーコンベアの駆動機構の平ベルトを単一素材にすることにより、極めて発塵性の低い構成としている。
