TECHNICAL FIELD OF THE INVENTION
The present invention relates to a liquid container that is suitably used as an ink tank mounted on an ink jet recording apparatus, and that comes into contact with an external member to supply liquid thereto.
[0002]
[Prior art]
2. Description of the Related Art In an ink jet recording apparatus that performs recording by discharging ink droplets, a configuration is known in which an ink jet head and an ink tank are formed separately, and these are integrated when used. An ink tank used in the ink jet recording apparatus has a proper back for the ink in order to stably hold the ink in a normal state (non-recording state) and to supply the ink to the ink jet head stably during recording. A mechanism for generating pressure (negative pressure) is required.
[0003]
As one of the general methods for generating a negative pressure as described above, as disclosed in JP-A-8-230207, a porous body such as urethane foam is used as a negative pressure generating member (ink absorber). There is a method of utilizing the capillary force of this porous body. Therefore, as an example of a conventional ink tank using capillary force, a configuration that is configured separately from an ink jet head and integrated at the time of use will be described with reference to FIG.

[Problems to be solved by the invention]
With the spread of inkjet recording apparatuses, small-sized recording apparatuses having excellent portability have been developed. In such small-sized recording apparatuses, the size of the recording apparatus body and the size of the ink tank have been reduced. In the above-described conventional configuration, as shown in FIGS. 8A and 8B, a

[0015]
Therefore, an object of the present invention is to accommodate an absorber capable of absorbing and holding a liquid, to be able to reduce the size, to hold a large amount of liquid, and to stably supply a large amount of liquid. It is to provide a liquid storage container which can perform the above.
[0016]
[Means for Solving the Problems]
The present invention provides a housing for accommodating liquid holding means capable of impregnating and holding a liquid, a liquid supply opening provided in the housing for supplying the liquid in the housing to the outside, and a liquid supply opening provided in the housing. The housing has an air introduction opening for introducing air into the housing, and is detachable from an external member, so that the liquid can be supplied to the external member while the liquid holding means is in contact with the external member. In the liquid storage container to be performed, the liquid holding means includes a first liquid holding member that can contact an external member, and a second liquid holding member that is held in close contact with the first liquid holding member and supplies liquid to the first liquid holding member. A liquid holding member, wherein the liquid holding force of the first liquid holding member is larger than the liquid holding force of the second liquid holding member, and the first liquid holding member is provided with a liquid supply opening of the housing. That the shape is substantially in line with the inner shape of the part. And butterflies.
[0017]
The first liquid holding member is preferably a sheet-shaped member.
[0018]
The first liquid holding member is held in the housing and is held in a state where the first liquid holding member is forcibly deformed so as to substantially conform to an inner surface shape of a portion of the housing where the liquid supply opening is provided. May be. Alternatively, the first liquid holding member may be formed in advance in a shape substantially conforming to the inner surface shape of the portion of the housing where the liquid supply opening is provided.
[0019]
It is preferable that at least one of the first liquid holding member and the second liquid holding member is made of a fibrous body. In particular, the first liquid holding member is made of a fibrous body, and the major axis direction of most of the fibers constituting the fibrous body is arranged substantially perpendicular to the direction of contact with the external member. preferable. Further, it is preferable that the first liquid holding member is formed of a fibrous body laminate, and the lamination direction of the laminate is substantially the same as the direction of contact with the external member. The major axis direction of most of the fibers constituting the laminated fibrous body is substantially perpendicular to the abutting direction with respect to the external member, and the length of the surface of the housing provided with the liquid supply opening. Preferably, it is substantially along the direction.
[0020]
The main component of the fiber constituting the fibrous body may be a thermoplastic resin. This thermoplastic resin may be a polyolefin resin. In that case, it is preferable that the main component of the constituent material of the housing is a polyolefin-based resin.
[0021]
In the liquid container of the present invention, the liquid holding force of the first liquid holding member is larger than the liquid holding force of the second liquid holding member, and therefore, the liquid in the liquid container is a liquid outlet (supply destination). In addition to the effect of being easily held around the outer member, the liquid in the liquid container is efficiently stabilized, and the first liquid holding member is formed by changing the inner surface shape of the portion of the housing where the liquid supply opening is provided. The shape substantially conforms to the above, so that the variation of the flow of the liquid moving in the second liquid holding member at the time of supplying the liquid, that is, the variation of the flow resistance of the second liquid holding member (the variation of the fiber density, etc.) The liquid is hardly affected, and the liquid can be supplied stably even when the liquid is supplied at a large flow rate.
[0022]
In particular, in a thin and flat liquid storage container, the liquid held in a position horizontally separated from the liquid supply opening near the bottom of the container is difficult to be led out, and the liquid held in other portions is first discharged. Although there is a high possibility that the ink is consumed, the configuration of the present invention enables stable ink supply even in such a shape.
[0023]
Further, since the first liquid holding member has substantially the same shape as the inner surface of the housing, the internal space of the housing can be effectively utilized without complicating the shape of the housing, particularly the internal shape.
[0024]
Since the liquid holding force of the first liquid holding member is greater than the liquid holding force of the second liquid holding member, the first liquid holding member has a relatively larger liquid remaining amount after the liquid is led out to the second liquid holding member. . In particular, this effect is even greater when high-speed liquid is supplied. Therefore, by forming the first liquid holding member in a thin sheet shape, the above-described effects can be obtained, and the internal volume of the first liquid holding member can be reduced to reduce the remaining amount of liquid.
[0025]

【The invention's effect】
As described above, according to the present invention, the first liquid holding member has a shape substantially along the inner surface shape of the portion of the housing of the liquid storage container where the liquid supply opening is provided. In addition, the liquid filling area inside the container increases, so that even a small container can hold a large amount of liquid. Further, even when the liquid is supplied at a high speed, the liquid that remains in the container without being used can be eliminated, and the use efficiency of the liquid can be increased.
[0055]
Further, when the first liquid holding member is a sheet-shaped member, the local deformation of the liquid holding member at the time of contact with the external member can be absorbed as a whole, and the first liquid holding member buckles. The resulting surrounding space can be kept as small as possible. In addition, by reducing the internal volume of the first liquid holding member having a large capillary force, the amount of liquid remaining inside the first liquid holding member can be reduced, and the liquid use efficiency can be increased.
