Abstract
Description

【0017】
図1において、例えばHDD(Hard Disc Drive)の記録装置を内蔵するホームサーバ20、TV(テレビジョン)30、TV40、DVD(Digital VersatileDisc)レコーダ50、HDDレコーダ60が家庭内ネットワーク10で接続されている。

If there is an individual recording reservation in the corresponding device before the transfer start time of the transfer content, the capacity obtained by subtracting the estimated required recording capacity is set as the free recording capacity (S306 to S307).
[0028]
If the available recording capacity is insufficient for the capacity required to record the reserved program, the user is notified of the lack of the capacity on a screen display (S309 to S310), and the user is again asked whether to transfer the file to the corresponding device (S309 to S310). S311).
[0029]
If the user responds that the content is to be transferred to the corresponding device, a list of the contents of the content recorded in the recording device of the corresponding device is displayed together with the recording capacity required for recording (S312). At this time, the deletion candidate is displayed or the deletion candidate is changed from the one that has the same contents to the server, the one that has been viewed, etc., with the recording capacity (file size) so that the character color and the background color can be easily distinguished from others. Only the screen is displayed in a separate frame, and the user is allowed to select the erased content (S313).
[0030]
If the recording capacity of the device cannot be secured by the erased content alone, or if the content of the device is not desired to be erased, the user transfers the recorded content of the device to the home server to secure the recording free space.
[0031]
Furthermore, when the broadcast program is recorded as it is and the transfer cannot be performed due to lack of free space in the recording device, a message that is not transferred due to insufficient capacity as shown in FIGS. 400 or a
[0032]
In this embodiment, when the user views the content, the content is transferred in advance to the device installed at the place where the content is actually viewed, so that there is no need to wait for the time to transfer the content from the home server, thereby reducing the access time. Can be achieved. In addition, by designating the time at which the transfer of the content to the
[0033]
In this embodiment, the user sets the transfer time of the recorded content at the time of recording reservation, but the transfer timing may be determined in advance. For example, it may be determined when the content recording ends, when the content recording ends 3/4 of the entire time, or when the transfer starts at 4:00 in the morning. Alternatively, the estimated transfer time calculated from the size of the content to be transferred and the estimated transfer speed at each time may be estimated, and the transfer start time may be calculated back from the history information indicating when the user is viewing the content. .
[0034]
In addition, the user sets the device to which the content is to be transferred (downloaded) at the time of the scheduled recording. However, based on the history information of the content downloaded from the home server 20, the download destination of the frequently viewed content is automatically determined. It may be set with.
[0035]
In order to obtain program information such as a program name, the information may be obtained directly from a homepage or the like using an external network.
Next, a second embodiment of the present invention will be described. In this embodiment, recording reservation is performed in each device, and content is also recorded in the recording device of each device. Recording reservation information and viewing information (viewing history) of each device are centralized in a database on a home server. It manages and transfers (moves) the recorded program to the device with the highest viewing history at an arbitrary time after the recording is completed.
[0036]
Hereinafter, this embodiment will be described with reference to the system diagram of FIG. 6, the packet diagrams of FIGS. 7 to 9, and the flowchart of FIG. 10 for explaining the operation procedure of FIG.
In FIG. 6, in order to collect recording reservation information or viewing information from individual devices such as the

On the other hand, the home server 20 monitors whether there is a packet addressed to the home server 20 of the home network 10 (S920). If there is a packet addressed to itself, it is determined whether the packet is a specific packet (S921 to S923), and the corresponding process is performed (S924, S930, S940).

In step S930, the home server 20 extracts information such as a broadcast start / end time and a channel (S931), and determines whether there is program information or the like in the packet (S932). If there is program information, the information in step S932 is sent to step 933. If there is no program information, it is determined whether there is EPG (Electrical Programming Guide) information (S935). Data is added (S934). In step S935, if information such as a genre and a program name cannot be obtained from the EPG, only the information obtained in S931 is added to the recording reservation information (S934).

In step S940, it is determined whether the command is a tuning command. If the command is a tuning command such as a channel change, tuning information is extracted (S941), and it is determined whether there is program information or the like in the packet (S942). If there is no program information, it is determined whether or not there is EPG (Electrical Programming Guide) information (S945). If there is, the information in step S942 is sent to the step 943. The viewing time is acquired from the operation time (S944), and the viewing history database is updated (S948). As described above, the viewing time can be added to the viewing history database. If no information such as a genre or a program name is obtained from the EPG in S945, the viewing history database is updated with the information obtained in step S941 and the viewing time obtained in S944 (S948).
[0043]
This embodiment is different from the first embodiment in that recording reservation can be made by an individual device and the tuner of each device can be used, so that a plurality of counterprograms can be recorded at the same time. It is possible to view contents recorded by a tuner that the user does not have.
[0044]
All information may be added to the viewing history database, but only data for a certain viewing time or more (for example, 10 minutes or more) may be added to the viewing history database. Alternatively, in order to collect the recording reservation information or the viewing information from the individual devices in the home server 20, specific commands for provision of information (temporary recording reservation information providing command, viewing history information providing command) may be set in advance. . The home server 20 may connect to the
