Abstract
Description
【0001】

The present invention has been made to solve such a problem, and even when an envelope of an arc tube is damaged, a current limiting element or a fuse can be sufficiently operated, It is an object of the present invention to provide a high-pressure discharge lamp that does not generate undesirable discharge inside the lamp and is excellent in safety and economy.
[0013]
[Means for Solving the Problems]
In order to achieve the above object, a high-pressure discharge lamp according to the present invention includes an arc tube in which a pair of electrodes are disposed inside, and a pair of power supply members for supplying power to each electrode extend from both ends; A supporting member provided on at least one end of the sleeve and having a conductive property for supporting the sleeve, and a starting wire arranged close to or in contact with the arc tube in the outer tube. A housed high-pressure discharge lamp, in which the supporting member is inserted in an insulated state and the starting wire is electrically connected to the power supply via a current limiting element or a fuse. It is characterized by.
[0014]
In this high-pressure discharge lamp, the starting wire passes through the supporting member in an insulated state. Therefore, even if the envelope of the arc tube is damaged due to deterioration or misuse, the starting wire and the supporting member are used. Between the electrode exposed by the arc tube breakage and the starting wire, so that an undesired discharge does not occur between the electrode and the starting wire. Nothing. Therefore, the high-pressure discharge lamp of the present invention does not damage the ballast or the like even when the envelope of the arc tube is damaged, and is excellent in safety and economy.
[0015]
Insulation here is intended to prevent discharge from occurring between the starting wire and the support member even when the envelope of the arc tube is broken, and only insulation during normal lamp operation. It does not refer to.
Further, in the high-pressure discharge lamp, in order to further ensure insulation between the starting wire and the support member, the starting wire passes through an insulator provided on the support member, It is desirable that an insulator be interposed between the conductor and the support member.
[0016]
In the high-pressure discharge lamp having the above configuration, in order to more reliably suppress the occurrence of an undesired discharge between the electrode and the starting wire when the arc tube is damaged, the linear distance between the electrode and the starting wire is reduced. It is desirable that the distance be shorter than the distance between the electrodes.
In the high-pressure discharge lamp, a ceramic material is often used for the envelope of the arc tube, but the above object can be effectively achieved even when an arc tube having an envelope made of such a material is provided.
[0017]
In the high-pressure discharge lamp, the current limiting element refers to a resistance element or a capacitor element.
