Abstract
Description
【0001】

[0002]
[Prior art]

JP-A-11-124667 [Problems to be solved by the invention]
[0005]
However, in recent years, as the pitch of the mask becomes finer, it is difficult to obtain a uniform film thickness distribution by the conventional technique. Therefore, the light emission of the pixel becomes uneven, and the current flows in a thin film thickness region. Excessive time causes deterioration of the element, which causes a problem that the life of the organic LED element is limited.
[0006]
SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION The present invention has been made to solve such a problem of the related art, and has as its object to provide a thin film forming apparatus capable of forming an organic thin film having a uniform thickness distribution and a long life.
[0007]
[Means for Solving the Problems]
The invention according to
According to a second aspect of the present invention, in the first aspect, the evaporating container is formed in an elongated shape extending in the same direction as the evaporating port.
A third aspect of the invention is characterized in that a plurality of the evaporation sources according to any one of the first and second aspects are arranged substantially in parallel at predetermined intervals.
According to a fourth aspect of the present invention, there is provided a vacuum chamber for forming a thin film on a predetermined film-forming target, and the evaporation source according to any one of the first to third aspects is provided in the vacuum chamber. The thin film forming apparatus is provided.
According to a fifth aspect of the present invention, in the fourth aspect of the present invention, the evaporation source is configured to move relatively to the film-forming target.
According to a sixth aspect of the present invention, in the fifth aspect of the invention, a moving direction of the evaporation source with respect to the film-forming target is a width direction of the evaporation port.
The invention according to
The invention according to claim 8 is the invention according to any one of
According to a ninth aspect of the present invention, in the eighth aspect of the present invention, the evaporation source is configured to move together with the aperture.
According to a tenth aspect of the present invention, in the invention according to any one of the eighth and ninth aspects, the opening shape of the aperture is elongated, and the aperture is provided substantially parallel to the evaporation port of the evaporation source. It is characterized by having.
[0008]
In the evaporation source of the present invention, since the evaporation source is provided with an elongated evaporation port through which the vapor of the evaporation material passes, for example, the evaporation source is positioned relative to the film formation target in a vacuum chamber. It is possible to make the film thickness distribution uniform by moving it in an appropriate manner.
[0009]
As a result, according to the present invention, it is possible to prevent uneven light emission of the pixels of the organic LED element and to extend the life.
[0010]
In the present invention, if the evaporation container of the evaporation source is formed in an elongated shape extending in the same direction as the evaporation port, space can be saved.
[0011]
If a plurality of such evaporation sources are arranged substantially in parallel at predetermined intervals, it is particularly suitable as an evaporation source for a host material and a dopant material for forming an organic thin film for an organic LED element. Become.
[0012]
According to the thin film forming apparatus of the present invention, since the above-described evaporation source is provided in the vacuum chamber, it is possible to form a film having a uniform film thickness distribution.
[0013]
In particular, the evaporation port of the evaporation source is formed in an elongated shape, and the evaporation source is moved in the width direction with respect to the film formation target, so that a uniform film thickness distribution is deposited on a larger film formation target. Can be performed.
[0014]
Further, if a plurality of the evaporation sources are arranged substantially in parallel at predetermined intervals, a thin film suitable for using a host material and a dopant material particularly for forming an organic thin film for an organic LED element. A forming device is obtained.
[0015]
Furthermore, if an aperture for limiting the deposition area of the film-forming object is provided in the partition section that partitions the space between the film-forming object and the evaporation source, the vapor deposition material that uniformly flows out of the aperture can be provided. Since the vapor is deposited on the surface of the object to be film-formed, the film thickness distribution can be made more uniform.
[0016]
In this case, in the space between the evaporation source and the mask, portions other than the aperture are partitioned by the partition portion, so that heat from the evaporation source is less likely to be transmitted to the mask, and as a result, the deposition region caused by deformation of the mask Deviation can be prevented.
[0017]
Furthermore, by moving the evaporation source together with the aperture, it is possible to adjust the relative positional relationship between the evaporation source and the aperture, thereby cutting deposition components incident obliquely on the film formation target. Therefore, the film thickness distribution can be made more uniform.
[0018]

Note that the present invention is not limited to the above-described embodiment, and various changes can be made.
For example, in the above-described embodiment, the aperture is moved by moving the evaporation source and the partition, but the present invention is not limited to this, and it is also possible to move the substrate side.
[0052]
In the above embodiment, three evaporation sources are arranged in parallel. However, two or four or more evaporation sources can be arranged in parallel. Can also be arranged.
[0053]
Furthermore, the shape of the evaporation port of the evaporation source can be not only rectangular but also elliptical.
[0054]
Furthermore, the shape of the aperture can be not only an elongated shape but also an elliptical shape, a circular shape, a square shape, or the like. However, from the viewpoint of improving the film thickness distribution, it is preferable to form the film into an elongated shape as in the above embodiment.
[0055]
In addition, the present invention is not limited to a device for forming an organic thin film of an organic LED element, but can be applied to various vapor deposition devices. However, the present invention is particularly effective when forming an organic thin film of an organic LED element using an organic material.
[0056]
【The invention's effect】
As described above, according to the present invention, it is possible to provide a thin film forming apparatus capable of forming an organic thin film having a uniform film thickness distribution and preventing the influence of heat from an evaporation source.
