Abstract
Description
【0001】

TECHNICAL FIELD OF THE INVENTION
The present invention relates to a pneumatic tire that does not impair the appearance even if an end portion of a carcass is present, and is particularly suitable for a pneumatic tire for a passenger car.
[0002]
[Prior art]
For example, when manufacturing a pneumatic tire to be mounted on a passenger car, it is necessary to cut a carcass serving as a skeleton of the pneumatic tire into a required width according to a tire size. Then, each carcass cord constituting the carcass is cut in a direction perpendicular to the longitudinal direction of the carcass cord.
[0003]
And since this carcass is arranged in the form folded back by the bead core in the tire molding process, in the pneumatic tire after completion, the end face of the
[0004]
[Problems to be solved by the invention]
As described above, in the conventional pneumatic tire, since the
[0005]
Specifically, when the end of the
[0006]
Here, the following is considered as a cause of the occurrence of the dent in the portion where the step exists. That is, as the cord spacing of the carcass increases at the time of filling with the internal pressure, the sidewall rubber forming the sidewall tread near the end of the carcass is extended, and the thickness of the sidewall rubber in this portion (sidewall gauge) ) Becomes thinner, the carcass cord does not grow, and the thickness of the carcass (code gauge) does not change. As a result, a phenomenon occurs in which a recess is formed in the step portion where the end of the carcass exists, as much as the thickness of the sidewall rubber is reduced.
[0007]
With the presence of a large step in this part, the excess thickness of the sidewall tread (excess gauge) can be reduced to reduce the thickness of the sidewall tread (thin gauge), or it can be made of thin yarn. It has been difficult to reduce the weight and cost of the tire by changing the carcass from a structure in which two members are arranged to a structure in which one member is made of thick yarn.
[0008]
In view of the above, the present invention provides a pneumatic tire that not only reduces the excess thickness of the sidewall tread but also facilitates weight reduction and cost reduction by using a thick yarn cord. Is the purpose.
[0009]
[Means for Solving the Problems]
The pneumatic tire according to claim 1 is a pneumatic tire in which an end of a carcass formed by a plurality of carcass cords is located on a sidewall tread,
The end face of the carcass cord at the end of the carcass is formed at an acute angle to the longitudinal direction of the carcass cord,
The height of the end of the carcass is set to be in the range of 45 to 70% with respect to the section height.
[0010]
The operation of the pneumatic tire according to claim 1 will be described below.
According to the pneumatic tire according to the present invention, the end portion of the carcass formed by the plurality of carcass cords has a structure in which the end portion of the carcass cord is located at the sidewall tread. In addition to being formed at an acute angle with respect to the longitudinal direction of the cord, the height of the end of the carcass is set to a height in the range of 45 to 70% with respect to the section height.
[0011]
Therefore, if the height of the end of the carcass is in the range of 45 to 70% with respect to the section height, the end of the carcass is arranged in the portion of the sidewall tread, and Although the appearance of the tread may be a problem, the tip of the carcass cord is cut at an acute angle, and the end face of the carcass cord is formed at an acute angle with respect to the longitudinal direction of the carcass cord. This makes it possible to prevent the sidewall tread from being dented at this step after filling the pneumatic tire with the internal pressure.
[0012]
As a result, according to the present invention, it is possible not only to reduce the excess thickness of the sidewall tread, but also to use a thick yarn cord that may cause a large dent, It is easy to reduce the weight and cost of the tire.
[0013]
The operation of the pneumatic tire according to claim 2 will be described below.
The present invention operates in the same manner as in the first aspect, but further has a configuration in which the thickness of the sidewall tread near the end of the carcass is in the range of 1.5 to 4.5 mm. That is, according to claim 1, the excess thickness of the sidewall tread is reduced. However, if the thickness of the sidewall tread is less than 1.5 mm, which is the lower limit of the above range, the strength of the pneumatic tire is reduced. Is insufficient, and if it exceeds 4.5 mm, which is the upper limit of the above range, dents in the step portion are unlikely to occur, and substantially no problem occurs in appearance. Therefore, it is preferable that the thickness of the sidewall tread be in the range of 1.5 to 4.5 mm described above.
[0014]
The operation of the pneumatic tire according to claim 3 will be described below.
The present invention operates in the same manner as the first and second aspects, but has a configuration in which the cord diameter of the carcass cord is in the range of 0.5 to 1.5 mm. That is, if the cord diameter of the carcass cord is within the above range, the carcass cord is made to be a thick thread, and by using this thick thread cord, sufficient strength can be obtained even with one carcass, so that the weight of the pneumatic tire can be reduced. Further, cost reduction can be achieved more reliably.
[0015]
The operation of the pneumatic tire according to claim 4 will be described below.
The present invention operates in the same manner as claims 1 to 3, except that the end face of the carcass cord at the end of the carcass is formed at an acute angle with respect to the inner face of the carcass in the cross section of the tire. are doing. In other words, by setting the inclination of the end face of the carcass cord as described above, the step due to the end of the carcass is reliably reduced, and the operation and effect of claim 1 can be more reliably achieved.
[0016]
The operation of the pneumatic tire according to claim 5 will be described below.
The present invention operates in the same manner as the first to fourth aspects, but further has a configuration in which the carcass is formed of a single cord material, and the carcass is disposed in a form folded by a bead core. I have. In other words, by forming the carcass with a single cord material and folding the carcass with a bead core, a thick yarn cord is substantially used, and accordingly, the weight and cost are reduced. Can be more reliably achieved.
