【発明の属する技術分野】
本発明は、各種の情報を、ユーザの要求に応じて、そのユーザが使用するナビゲーション装置や携帯端末等の情報端末に、例えば、インターネット等の通信回線を介して提供する技術分野に関する。

【従来の技術】
従来より、インターネット等の通信環境を利用して、外部のサーバ等からパーソナルコンピュータに各種情報を取得する技術が普及しており、例えば特開平１１−１４３３５８号には、係る通信環境において通信可能に接続された通信機能を備える車載ナビゲーション装置と情報センターとの間において、経路誘導等のナビゲーションを行う技術が提案されている。

上記のような通信環境において、車載ナビゲーション装置、携帯電話等の情報端末に各種施設（観光地、飲食店等）の情報を提供する際には、情報端末からの要求操作に応じて、情報センターにおいてデータベースの検索が行われ、その情報端末に対して、検索によって入手した施設情報が提供される。このため、情報端末のユーザは、例えば移動中において、所望の施設に関して有益な情報を取得することができ、効率的な移動が行える。

【発明が解決しようとする課題】
一般に、各種施設の運営者は、自身が運営する施設をより多くの利用者に利用してもらうべく多様なサービスを日々提供しており、その中でも、対象施設の利用に際して、料金の割引等の優待を受けられる優待券を提供することは旧来から行われている。

そこで、このような物理的に存在する優待券の提供サービスの代わりに、上記のような情報提供システムにおいて、所謂電子クーポンを提供するシステムが利用されつつあるが、情報センター側のシステム運営が大掛かりなものとなってしまうため、高コストであることが問題となる。また、情報センターの運営者は、個々のユーザの多様な要求に応えるべく、検索対象となるデータベースに登録する各種施設の情報を日々更新していく必要があるため、短期間で変更されるサービスの内容を遅延無く反映することは容易なことではない。

ところで、近年においては、優待券の提供手段として、物理的に存在する情報提供用の冊子に、広告費を納めた店舗等の施設の広告及びその利用に際しての優待券及び／または優待情報を掲載しておき、その冊子をコンビニエンスストアや書店等の冊子提供施設にてユーザに無料配布するビジネスが行われている。このようなビジネスは、来訪した顧客に冊子を提供する施設の運営者及びその冊子に掲載された施設の運営者の両者にとって、集客性の向上を見込めるので好適である。

また、コンビニエンスストア、書店、或いはホテル等の施設に、複数種類の優待券を用意しておき、ユーザに無料配布するビジネスも行われており、このようなビジネスは、少なくとも優待券を発行している施設の運営者にとって、集客性の向上を見込めるので好適である。

そこで、本発明は、既存の施設情報提供ビジネスの利用拡大を図ると共に、その施設情報提供ビジネスを利用することにより、ユーザ所望施設の優待情報を、低コスト且つ運営が容易に提供する情報提供装置及び方法、並びにコンピュータ・プログラムの提供を目的とする。

【課題を解決するための手段】
上記の目的を達成するため、本発明に係る情報提供装置は、以下の構成を特徴とする。

即ち、記憶領域に予め記憶された施設に関する情報を、ユーザの指示に応じて情報端末に提供する情報提供装置であって、
利用施設にて優待を受けるための優待情報を含む情報提供媒体に、ユーザが利用を希望する対象施設に関する優待情報が含まれるか否かを判断する判断手段と、
前記対象施設に関する優待情報が前記情報提供媒体に含まれると判断された際に、前記ユーザが使用する情報端末に対して、前記情報提供媒体を物理的に入手可能な施設に関して少なくとも位置情報を提供する情報提供手段と、
を備えることを特徴とする。

好適な実施形態において、前記情報提供手段は、前記情報端末の現在位置情報と、前記対象施設の位置情報とに基づいて、前記情報提供媒体を物理的に入手可能な施設のうち、前記情報端末の現在位置と前記対象施設の所在地との間に存在する施設に関して、少なくとも位置情報を提供すると良い。

また例えば、前記情報提供手段は、前記対象施設の所在地と、前記情報提供媒体を物理的に入手可能な施設の所在地とを前記ユーザが識別可能なシンボルを含む地図画面を表示すべく、少なくともそれら２ヶ所の所在地の位置情報を、前記情報端末に提供すると良い。

また、好適な実施形態においては、前記情報提供媒体を物理的に入手可能な施設における前記情報提供媒体の在庫状況に関する情報を取得する在庫状況確認手段を更に備え、
前記情報提供手段は、前記対象施設に関する優待情報が前記情報提供媒体に含まれると判断された際に、前記情報提供媒体を物理的に入手可能な施設のうち、前記在庫状況確認手段によって在庫無しと確認された施設に関しては、前記情報端末への位置情報の提供を禁止すると良い。

また例えば、前記情報提供手段は、前記情報提供媒体に含まれるところの、前記対象施設にて優待を受けるための優待情報の種別及び／または内容を表示するための情報を、前記情報端末に提供すると良い。

また例えば、前記情報提供手段は、前記対象施設の所在地に直接向かう経路誘導を開始するための第１のユーザ・インタフェースと、前記情報提供媒体を物理的に入手可能な施設の所在地を経由して、前記対象施設の所在地に向かう経路誘導とを開始するための第２のユーザ・インタフェースとを表示するための情報を、前記情報端末に提供すると良い。

上記の場合に、好ましくは、前記情報端末の現在位置から前記対象施設への経路誘導を、前記情報端末において操作された前記第１または第２のユーザ・インタフェースに応じて行なう経路誘導手段を更に備えると良い。

上記の本発明によれば、既存の施設情報提供ビジネスの利用拡大を図ると共に、その施設情報提供ビジネスを利用することにより、ユーザ所望施設の優待情報を、低コスト且つ運営が容易に実現する情報提供装置及び方法、並びにコンピュータ・プログラムの提供が実現する。

即ち、請求項１、請求項１１、請求項１５の発明によれば、ユーザは、利用を希望する対象施設において優待を受けることが可能であるところの、優待情報が含まれる情報提供媒体を物理的に入手可能な施設（例えばコンビニエンスストアや書店等）の所在地を確実に知ることができる。

更に、この発明によれば、既存の施設情報提供ビジネスの運営者（即ち、当該情報提供媒体への優待情報の掲載を依頼している施設の運営者、当該情報提供媒体の発行を行なう発行者、並びにその情報提供媒体をユーザに提供する施設の運営者）にとっては、自らが積極的な活動を行なわなくても、当該情報提供媒体の利用拡大を図ることができるので好適であり、情報提供装置（情報センター）の運営者にとっては、その施設情報提供ビジネスを利用することにより、ユーザ所望施設の優待情報を、低コスト且つ運営が容易に提供することができ、当該情報提供装置へのユーザのアクセス数の増加も期待できる。

また、請求項３、請求項１３、請求項１７の発明によれば、ユーザに提供される施設に関する情報内容は、前記情報提供媒体に含まれる情報内容より少ないので、更なる情報の入手を希望するユーザを、係る情報提供媒体の入手に向かわすことができるので、当該情報提供媒体の発行を行なう発行者及びその情報提供媒体をユーザが入手可能な施設の運営者による既存の施設情報提供ビジネスの更なる利用拡大を図ることができる。

また、請求項４、請求項１８の発明によれば、ユーザが使用する情報端末の現在位置と、そのユーザが利用を希望する対象施設の所在地との間に存在するところの、当該情報提供媒体を物理的に入手可能な施設の所在地を知ることができるので、ユーザは、当該情報提供媒体を遠まわりすることなく効率良く入手することができ、且つその対象施設における優待を容易に受けることができ、利便性に優れる。

また、請求項５、請求項１９の発明によれば、ユーザは、対象施設の所在地と、前記情報提供媒体を物理的に入手可能な施設の所在地との位置関係を容易に把握することができるので、当該情報提供媒体を遠まわりすることなく効率良く入手することができ、且つその対象施設における優待を容易に受けることができ、利便性に優れる。

また、上述した情報提供媒体は、例えばコンビニエンスストアや書店等の施設出入口付近に持ち出し容易に配置されることが多いので、その施設の運営者が在庫状況を常時把握することは容易なことではないが、在庫無しとなった場合には、新たに入庫すべく何れかの関係者が行動を採ることが予想され、係る在庫無しの状況は、比較的精度良く把握することができる。従って、請求項６、請求項２０の発明によれば、当該情報提供媒体の在庫無しと確認された施設に関しては、ユーザが使用する情報端末において所在地が特定されないようにするので、係る在庫無しの施設をユーザが訪れて時間を無駄にすることを合理的に防止することができる。

また、請求項７の発明によれば、情報提供媒体含まれる対象施設の優待情報の種別及び／または内容を、情報端末において表示することができるので、ユーザは、当該対象施設を訪れるに際して、その優待情報が自分にとって有益なものであるかを、情報提供媒体を物理的に入手可能な施設まで出向くこと無く把握することができ、合理的且つ利便性に優れる。

また、請求項８の発明によれば、ユーザは、対象施設の所在地に向かうに際して、情報提供媒体を物理的に入手可能な施設を経由するか否かを、例えば、対象施設の所在地及び情報提供媒体を物理的に入手可能な施設の所在地のシンボルが含まれる地図画面において（請求項５）、或いは、当該情報提供媒体に含まれる対象施設の優待情報の種別及び／または内容を認識した上で（請求項７）、そのユーザ自身が選択することができ、合理的且つ利便性に優れる。

また、請求項９の発明によれば、ユーザが使用する情報端末が地図情報や経路誘導機能を有していない場合であっても、対象施設への経路誘導を行なうことができ、その情報端末側の処理負担の軽減及びコスト低減を図ることができる。

また、請求項１０、請求項１４、請求項２１の発明によれば、ユーザは、利用を希望する対象施設において優待を受けることが可能であるところの、優待券を入手可能な施設（例えばコンビニエンスストアや書店等）の所在地を知ることができる。従って、そのユーザは、優待券を入手可能な施設にてその優待券を受け取って対象施設にて提示することにより、所定の優待を受けることができるので利便性に優れる。

更に、この発明によれば、既存の施設情報提供ビジネスの運営者（優待券の発行を行なう発行者及びその優待券をユーザに提供する施設の運営者）にとっては、自らが積極的な活動を行なわなくても、当該優待券の利用拡大を図ることができると共に集客性の向上を図ることができるので好適であり、情報提供装置（情報センター）の運営者にとっては、その施設情報提供ビジネスを利用することにより、ユーザ所望施設の優待券を、低コスト且つ運営が容易に提供することができ、当該情報提供装置へのユーザのアクセス数の増加も期待できる。

【発明の実施の形態】
以下、本発明に係る情報提供システムを、優待情報が含まれる情報提供媒体の一例として、優待情報としてのクーポン券が冊子（以下、クーポン冊子）に掲載されている場合に適用した一実施形態を、図面を参照して詳細に説明する。

図１は、本実施形態における情報提供システムの全体概要を例示する図である。

同図において、情報センター１は、通信機能を有するサーバ・コンピュータ等の情報処理装置（情報提供装置）であって、情報センター１の不図示のＣＰＵは、メ本実施形態に係る情報提供処理（図４：詳細は後述する）、並びに一般的な通信処理等の各種ソフトウエア・プログラムを実行することにより、地図情報データベース（ＤＢ）５及び施設情報データベース（ＤＢ）６等を適宜参照しながら、ユーザが使用する情報端末としてのユーザ端末２に対して、無線通信基地局４を介して、インターネット３を含む有線及び／または無線通信ネットワークによるデータ通信を行なうことによって、そのユーザ所望の施設（以下、施設だけでなく場所や地点を含むものとする）８に関する情報を提供することにより、当該ユーザによる移動を支援すると共に、必要とされる場合には、その施設を目的地として経路誘導を行なう。

ユーザ端末２は、本システムを利用して情報センター１から情報提供を受けることが可能なユーザが使用するところの、移動体である自動車（車両）に搭載された車載ナビゲーション装置、携帯電話、ＰＤＡ等の情報端末であって、インターネット通信を行うことが可能な一般的な通信プロトコルのソフトウエア（ソフトウエアプログラム）、そのソフトウエアに従って行われる無線通信機能を利用して、外部装置とデータを送受信するインターネットブラウザ機能及びメール機能、並びにブラウザを描画する一般的なソフトウエア群を有しており、これらのソフトウエアがＣＰＵ（不図示）適宜実行されることにより、ユーザ端末２は、情報センター１からの各種の情報提供を受ける。また、ユーザ端末２は、搭載された不図示のＧＰＳ（グローバル・ポジショニング・システム）受信機によって検出された現在地の位置情報を、情報センター１に送信することができる。

本実施形態において、情報センター１とユーザ端末２においては、位置情報（座標値）を扱うに際して、共通の座標系が採用されている。

そして、ユーザ端末２は、本実施形態において、インターネット通信を行うことが可能な一般的な通信プロトコルのソフトウエア（ソフトウエアプログラム）、そのソフトウエアに従ってインターネット４を介してデータを送受信するインターネットブラウザ機能及びメール機能、並びにブラウザを描画する一般的なソフトウエア群を有しており、これらのソフトウエアが不図示のＣＰＵによって適宜実行されることにより、第１ユーザ端末と情報センター１、そして第２ユーザ端末と情報センター１は、情報センター１に第１及び／または第２ユーザ端末が接続された（例えばログインした）状態において、インターネット４、並びに基地局５等の有線及び無線を含む通信回線を介して、双方向通信可能に接続される。

施設情報ＤＢ６には、地図情報ＤＢ５に格納されている地図情報に含まれる複数の施設（各種の観光施設、宿泊施設、商業施設、飲食施設等）に関しての施設情報が記憶されており、個々の施設情報を構成するレコードには、所在地の位置情報、個々の施設の特徴を表わす文字や画像、カテゴリ（ジャンル）、所在地の住所、連絡先（電話番号、電子メールアドレス等）、営業時間、利用料金等の各種コンテンツ（情報内容）が、ユーザ端末２からの要求操作に応じて適当な情報提供を行なうことができるように、情報センター１が行なう一般的な検索処理によって検索（抽出）可能に、互いに関連付けされて記憶されている。

更に、本実施形態において施設情報ＤＢ６に記憶される更なる情報項目として、クーポン冊子提供施設情報６−１、クーポン冊子掲載施設情報６−２、並びにクーポン冊子在庫情報６−３がある。

クーポン冊子提供施設情報６−１は、上記の如く施設情報ＤＢ６に記憶されている複数施設のうち、来訪した者（顧客）に対して、クーポン冊子を提供可能な、例えば、コンビニエンスストアや書店等の施設（以下、クーポン冊子提供施設７）であることを表わす情報である。

クーポン冊子掲載施設情報６−２は、上記の如く施設情報ＤＢ６に記憶されている複数施設のうち、上記クーポン冊子に掲載されている施設（以下、クーポン冊子掲載施設８）であることを表わす情報と、その施設にて受けられる優待の種別及び／または内容を表わす識別情報とを含む。ここで、優待の種別とは、料金の割引、所定の商品やサービスの無料利用等を表わし、優待の内容とは、例えば、料金の割引を受ける対象や条件、適用期間、無料利用が可能な所定の商品やサービスを表わす情報等である。

クーポン冊子掲載施設情報６−２は、上記の如く施設情報ＤＢ６に記憶されている複数施設のうち、上記クーポン冊子に掲載されている施設（以下、クーポン冊子掲載施設８）であることを表わす情報と、その施設にて受けられる優待の種別及び／または内容を表わす識別情報とを含む。

ここで、クーポン冊子提供施設情報６−１と、クーポン冊子掲載施設情報６−２とは、例えば、クーポン冊子の発行者がそのクーポン冊子の発行のために運営するデータベース（不図示）を情報センター１が所定周期で参照する、或いは、当該発行者による情報端末（不図示）の操作に応じて、施設情報ＤＢ６において更新（記憶）される。

本実施形態において、上記クーポン冊子には、その発行者に掲載を依頼したクーポン冊子掲載施設８の運営者が予め決定した各種の優待（料金の割引等）を受けるための優待情報として、その優待の内容、適用条件（期間等）、施設の場所等が記載された所謂クーポン券（優待券）が掲載されており、クーポン冊子掲載施設８を来訪した者（顧客）は、クーポン冊子に掲載されたところの、来訪した施設に対応するクーポン券の切り離して提示することにより、その施設の利用に際して、所定の優待サービスを受けることができる。

尚、クーポン冊子に掲載された優待情報は、切り離して使用するクーポン券の形態をなしておらず、来訪した者（顧客）が、その優待情報の掲載部分を、該当するクーポン冊子掲載施設８にて提示するビジネス形態であっても良い。

尚、本実施形態では、以下に説明する情報提供処理が情報センター１において実行されるのに応じて、インターネット３等の通信回線を介して情報センター１から受信した所定のデータ形式（例えば、ＨＴＭＬ：Ｈｙｐｅｒｔｅｘｔ　Ｍａｒｋｕｐ　Ｌａｎｇｕａｇｅ，ＸＭＬ：Ｅｘｔｅｎｓｉｂｌｅ　Ｍａｒｋｕｐ　Ｌａｎｇｕａｇｅ等）に基づくデータを利用して、ユーザ端末２にて所謂インターネットブラウザ機能が実行されることにより、ユーザ端末２のユーザに対して、表示画面等の必要なマンマシン・インタフェース（ユーザインタフェース）が提供される場合を例に説明する。

同図において、ステップＳ１：アクセス中のユーザ端末２における施設検索のための要求操作が行われたかが判断され、当該要求操作が検出されな場合には処理がステップＳ１２に進められ、検出された場合には処理がステップＳ２に進められる。

ステップＳ２：ステップＳ１にて検索を要求された施設が、施設情報ＤＢ６にて検索される。本ステップにて検索が行われるに際しては、検索要求がなされたユーザ端末２（以下、「注目ユーザ端末」と称する）において入力されたユーザ所望の検索条件として設定されたところの、カテゴリ（ジャンル）、地名、施設名称等を検索キーとして施設情報ＤＢ６が参照されることにより、一般的な検索処理が行なわれる。
