Abstract
Description
【0001】

TECHNICAL FIELD OF THE INVENTION
BACKGROUND OF THE
[0002]
[Prior art]
A conventional folding device, a post-processing device for image formation having the folding device, and a crease on a sheet in an image forming device such as a copier, a printer, a facsimile device, etc., for forming a toner image by an electrophotographic method. A folding device, or a copier, a post-processing device for image formation, which is disposed downstream of a toner image forming unit such as a printer and further performs binding and the like on a transfer sheet of a transfer target body of an output sheet, Although widely known, the functions thereof have been multifunctional recently, and there has been proposed a device capable of performing saddle stitching in addition to the conventional edge stitching.
2. Description of the Related Art Conventionally, in a folding device of this type, a post-processing device for image formation, or the like, a saddle stitching portion of a sheet bundle having a central portion bound in a substantially vertical direction (substantially with a sheet bundle surface) is used as folding means for saddle stitching. The sheet bundle is half-folded by being extruded by a folding plate (in a direction orthogonal to the direction) and passing through a pair of folding rollers provided in the moving direction.
In such saddle-stitch bookbinding, it is important that the folding position by the pair of folding rollers and the saddle-stitching position exactly match in appearance and in the degree of spread when turning a page. is there.
Therefore, it has been proposed to press each of the pair of folding rollers with each spring so that the position of the nip portion of the pair of folding rollers is located at the center of the folding position.
It has a pair of folding rollers for pressing the central portion of the transfer sheet of the transfer sheet in the transport direction of the sheet bundle to fold the sheet into two, and a protruding plate for projecting the fold of the sheet bundle while moving toward the pressing position of the folding roller. A pair of folding rollers are swingably supported so as to be pressed against each other by the urging means, and at the insertion position of the protruding plate, close to each other, or at a fixed position so as to make light contact. In a state before the start of the folding process, the pair of folding rollers are stopped at a predetermined position by the stop member so that excessive pressing force does not act, and the protruding plate is paired. The folding roller is inserted accurately into the pressing position of the folding roller, the folding process is performed at the correct position, and the pair of folding rollers after the rear end of the sheet bundle has passed through the pair of folding rollers. It is known to avoid collision of La (see JP 2000-143088, the Japanese Unexamined etc. JP 2000-211805).
[0003]
However, this is because the pair of folding rollers is fixed by the stop member at the position where the pair of folding rollers is close to or lightly contact only in a state where there is no sheet bundle of the transfer sheet of the transfer target, so that the sheet bundle enters. If the weight of the roller itself is a pair of folding rollers, the weight of the roller itself acts in the direction of decreasing the pressing spring force in the relatively lower roller, and the roller itself in the relatively upper roller. Weight acts in a direction to increase the pressure spring force, so that the balance of the pressing force is lost.
Accordingly, in a state in which there is a sheet bundle with respect to a state in which there is no sheet bundle of the transfer sheet of the transfer receiving body, the separation amount of the lower roller is larger than the separation amount of the upper roller, and the pair of folding rollers is in the separation state. , The nip position of the pair of folding rollers does not coincide with the center of the folding position, and it has been difficult to accurately match the folding position of the pair of folding rollers with the saddle stitching position, and the appearance is poor.
Further, when the sheet bundle of the transfer paper of the transfer object is passed through the pair of folding rollers to form a folding habit, the center position of the gap generated by the separation of the pair of folding rollers always coincides with the common tangent position at the time of contact. It is also known to move the other folding roller in the opposite direction following the movement of one folding roller (see Japanese Patent Application Laid-Open No. 10-279177).
The moving method is such that the pair of folding rollers are respectively supported at one end, and a pair of swing arms that rotate about the other end as a rotation axis, and a pair of the swing arms are provided between the rotation axes. This is achieved by rotating the other swing arm by the same angle in the opposite direction according to the rotation of the arm by using a connection means such as a gear.
Accordingly, the pair of folding rollers press against the folding position of the sheet bundle while being symmetrically displaced with respect to the folding center, so that the folding position is set when the sheet bundle of sheets passes through the pair of folding rollers. It is possible to match the folding position and the binding position without shifting.
[0004]
However, in this configuration, as means for rotating the other swing arm in the opposite direction in accordance with the rotation of one swing arm, a connecting means such as a gear is used between the rotation axes. In the connection by gears, stable positioning cannot be performed due to backlash or variations in parts, and it is difficult to exactly match the folding position by the pair of folding rollers with the saddle stitching position, which causes a problem that the appearance is poor. I was
Generally, in order to apply a strong folding habit to a sheet bundle of sheets, it is necessary to set the pressing force of a pair of folding rollers to a correspondingly high pressure. Since there is a limit in strength in displacing the pair of folding rollers using a connecting means such as a gear, the pressing force of the pair of folding rollers must also be set relatively low, and the pressing force of the pair of folding rollers must be within a range where the folding habit can be applied. In addition to the limit, the weakness of the folding habit has caused a problem that a booklet bound with saddle stitching tends to cause a dangerous state such as deterioration in appearance and collapse on a stacking tray.
[0005]
[Problems to be solved by the invention]
As described above, the conventional folding apparatus, the image forming post-processing apparatus including the folding apparatus, and the image forming apparatus cannot easily fold a sheet at a precise position by a pair of folding rollers, and the folding habit is also low. In addition to being weak and unattractive, there has been a problem that a dangerous state such as collapse of a stacked sheet bundle is likely to occur.
Therefore, an object of the present invention is to solve such a problem. That is, the folding of the sheet by the pair of folding rollers can be easily performed at an accurate position, the folding habit is strong and the appearance is good, and the folding device and the folding device which do not collapse even when the folded sheet is loaded are provided. It is an object of the present invention to provide an image forming post-processing apparatus and an image forming apparatus including the apparatus.
