ステアリングコラムの側部に取り付けられる電動モータと、
ステアリングコラムを挟んで電動モータ側およびその反対側に配置される第1および第2の取付ブラケットとを備え、
第1の取付ブラケットは、電動モータよりも上記所定方向側に配置され、
第1および第2の取付ブラケットは、ステアリングコラムを支持する支軸を挿通させる支持孔を有し、
第1および第2の取付ブラケットはそれぞれを車体に取り付けるための取付部材を挿通させる取付孔をそれぞれ有し、
第1の取付ブラケットの取付孔が衝突時に上記取付部材を離脱可能に上記所定方向の反対方向に開放し、
衝突時に、第1の取付ブラケットがステアリングコラムに同行移動すると共に、第2の取付ブラケットがステアリングコラムの相対移動を許容することを特徴とする電動パワーステアリング装置。A steering column that moves in a predetermined direction with respect to the vehicle body during a collision,
