Description
【0001】

Ra/f<0.6 ……(4)
【0027】

TECHNICAL FIELD OF THE INVENTION
The present invention relates to a night vision system mainly used for observation in a dark environment, and a bright, particularly a medium telephoto night vision objective lens suitable for the night vision system.
[0002]
[Prior art]
2. Description of the Related Art Conventionally, there is known a night-vision system that enables photographing in a dark environment by enhancing an optical image formed by an objective lens with a light amplification tube (image intensifier). As telephoto objective lenses for this night vision system, for example, U.S. Pat. No. 3,915,547 (an example of a viewing angle of about 7 [deg.] And eight elements in five groups) and Japanese Patent Application Laid-Open No. 2002-08281 ( An example of an F-number of 1.4 to 1.5, a viewing angle of about 11 °, and eight elements in five groups is described.
[0003]
On the other hand, as a middle telephoto type photographic lens, an Elnostar type lens and a modified Elnostar type lens based on the Elnostar type lens have been well known. As a modified ernoster type photographic lens, for example, Japanese Patent Application Laid-Open No. Sho 53-133028 (F value: 2.0, angle of view: 2ω = 24 °, 6 elements in 4 groups), US Pat. No. 2,346, No. 061 (example of 5 groups, 5 sheets), US Pat. No. 2,416,443 (example of 4 groups, 5 sheets), US Pat. No. 2,502,509 (4 groups, 6 sheets) Are described in US Pat. No. 2,600,208 (an example of a four-group, five-sheet configuration).
[0004]
Although these lenses have a small number of lenses, the occurrence of aberration is suppressed by arranging a positive meniscus lens in the second lens group, and a bi-convex lens or a positive meniscus lens having a convex surface facing the image surface side in the fourth lens group. Is characterized in that the curvature of field and distortion are corrected in a well-balanced manner, and a long back focus required as a photographic lens is secured.
[0005]
[Problems to be solved by the invention]
However, these conventional Elnostar or its modified type lenses have an F-number of about 2, and there is a limit in terms of brightness as an objective lens used in a night vision system. Brighter lenses are required for use as night vision systems. With the improvement of the resolving power of the image intensifier, a high resolution and compact objective lens are also important factors.
[0006]
By the way, in the case of a night vision system, an eyepiece is used to observe a light-amplified image. The characteristics of this eyepiece often have a pincushion distortion (positive distortion). Therefore, in order to cancel the distortion, it is desired that the objective lens has barrel-shaped distortion (negative distortion). However, since the angle of view is narrow in a medium telephoto objective lens, the amount of distortion is inherently small, and in the prior art, the more compact the lens, the more likely it is to generate positive distortion. Therefore, it is desired to develop a medium telephoto objective lens in which distortion is corrected as a whole night vision system.
[0007]
The present invention has been made in view of such a problem, and an object thereof is to provide a bright, high-resolution, compact, and negative distortion that can obtain preferable performance particularly when applied to a night vision system. It is an object of the present invention to provide a medium-television night vision objective lens having the same, and a night vision system capable of obtaining excellent optical performance as a whole system by using the objective lens.
[0008]
[Means for Solving the Problems]
The night vision objective lens according to the present invention includes, in order from the object side, a first lens group having a positive refractive power, and a second lens group having a positive meniscus shape as a whole, which is configured by joining a positive lens and a negative lens. , A third lens group having a negative refractive power, and a positive meniscus fourth lens group having a convex surface facing the object side.
[0009]
A night-vision system according to the present invention includes a night-vision objective lens according to the present invention, an optical amplifying unit for enhancing an optical image formed by the night-vision objective lens, and observing the image enhanced by the optical amplifying unit. And an eyepiece for performing the operation.
[0010]
In the night-vision objective lens according to the present invention, the above-described configuration corrects various aberrations, is bright, has high resolution, and is compact, and can obtain preferable performance particularly when applied to a night-vision system. In particular, by disposing a positive meniscus lens having a convex surface facing the object side in the fourth lens group, negative distortion, which is preferable in a night vision system, can be generated without difficulty. In the night vision system according to the present invention, by incorporating the objective lens for night vision, excellent optical performance is obtained as a whole system.
[0011]
The objective lens for night vision according to the present invention desirably satisfies the following conditional expressions (1), (2) and (3) in order to correct various aberrations and reduce the size.
[0012]
1.8 <f1−3 / f <2.5 (1)
f4 / f <0.7 (2)
0.25 <d3-4 / f (3)
However,
f: focal length of the entire system f1-3: combined focal length of the first to third lens groups f4: focal length d3-4 of the fourth lens group: air gap between the third and fourth lens groups [0013]
The night-vision objective according to the present invention also satisfies the following conditional expression (4) in order to generate appropriate negative distortion (approximately -1% to -6%) which is preferable in a night-vision system. It is desirable to have.
[0014]
Ra / f <0.6 (4)
However,
f: focal length of the entire system Ra: radius of curvature of the convex surface closest to the object side of the fourth lens group
In order to improve the brightness and the resolution, it is desirable that the fourth lens group is constituted by a junction of a positive lens and a negative lens. In this case, it is desirable that the following conditional expression (5) is further satisfied.
[0016]
N4p−N4n> 0.2 (5)
However,
N4p: refractive index of the positive lens forming the fourth lens group N4n: refractive index of the negative lens forming the fourth lens group

In the column of the surface number Si in the lens data shown in FIGS. 4 to 7, the surface of the component closest to the object side is the first with respect to the night-vision objective lens of each embodiment, and the number gradually increases toward the image side. The numbers of the surfaces of the constituent elements are shown. In the field of the radius of curvature Ri, the value of the radius of curvature of the surface of the i-th (i = 1 to 11 or 1 to 12) component from the object side is set in correspondence with the symbol Ri attached in FIGS. Show. The column of the surface interval di also shows the interval on the optical axis between the i-th surface Si and the (i + 1) -th surface Si + 1 from the object side, corresponding to the reference numerals given in FIGS. The units of the values of the radius of curvature Ri and the surface interval di are millimeters (mm). The columns of Ndj and νdj show the refractive index and Abbe number of the j-th (j = 1 to 6 or 1 to 7) lens element from the object side with respect to the d-line (587.6 nm). In the lens data, the value of the radius of curvature Ri is set to 0 in a portion having a flat surface shape.
[0040]
4 to 7 also show values of the focal length f, the F value (FNO.) And the viewing angle 2ω (ω = half viewing angle) of the entire system. 4 to 7 also show the correspondence between d3-4, Ra, N4p, and N4n in the above conditional expressions.
[0041]
FIG. 8 shows values corresponding to the above-mentioned conditional expressions (1) to (5) for each embodiment. As shown in FIG. 8, the values of the examples fall within the ranges of the conditional expressions (1) to (5). Since the conditional expression (5) is a condition when the fourth lens group G4 is formed by joining the positive lens L51 and the negative lens L52, there is no value for Examples 1 and 2.

FIG. 9 shows various aberrations of the night vision objective lens of Example 1. More specifically, FIGS. 9A to 9D show spherical aberration, astigmatism, distortion (distortion), and chromatic aberration of magnification, respectively. Note that each aberration diagram shows aberrations with 750 nm as a reference wavelength.

As can be seen from the above lens data and aberration diagrams, for each embodiment, a very bright, high-resolution, compact night-vision objective lens of the F1.2 class can be realized. Also, a medium telephoto objective lens having negative distortion, which is preferable when used in a night vision system, can be realized.
[0045]
The present invention is not limited to the above-described embodiment and examples, and various modifications can be made. For example, the values of the radius of curvature, the surface spacing, the refractive index, and the like of each lens component are not limited to the values shown in each of the numerical examples, and may take other values.

[0047]
According to the night vision system of the sixth aspect, the optical image formed by the night vision objective lens according to any one of the first to fifth aspects is enhanced, and the enhanced image is used as an eyepiece. In particular, positive distortion, which tends to occur in the eyepiece, can be easily offset by generating negative distortion in the night-vision objective lens, thereby achieving excellent optical performance as a whole system. Obtainable.
