Abstract
Description
【0001】
【0051】

TECHNICAL FIELD OF THE INVENTION
The present invention relates to a control device for a vehicle-mounted automatic transmission including a lock-up clutch mechanism and a torque converter.
[0002]
[Prior art]
Generally, when towing travel is performed by a vehicle that is not dedicated to towing, a problem may occur that the temperature of oil (hereinafter, referred to as “ATF”) circulating in the torque converter excessively increases. In particular, this problem is remarkable in a case where the vehicle is climbing uphill while performing towing travel. Such an excessive increase in the temperature of the ATF causes an early deterioration of the ATF, which in turn lowers the lubricating ability of the ATF.
[0003]
Therefore, conventionally, in order to suppress such an excessive rise in the ATF temperature, an air-cooled oil cooler provided separately from an existing water-cooled oil cooler has been proposed and put into practical use. Thereby, the ability of the oil cooler to cool the ATF is improved, and an excessive rise in the ATF temperature can be suppressed.
[0004]
[Problems to be solved by the invention]
By the way, in reality, the number of vehicles separately provided with an air-cooled oil cooler for towing travel is small, and a special specification of an air-cooled oil cooler for cooling the ATF is required. In addition, in order to attach such an air-cooled oil cooler, it is necessary to design brackets, piping, and the like, so that a disadvantage in cost is inevitable. Furthermore, in order to ensure the function as an air-cooled oil cooler, the cooler must be arranged in a place where air flows well, such as in front of the radiator, and it is difficult to secure an arrangement space.
[0005]
Conventionally, as disclosed in, for example, JP-A-63-266257, there has been proposed a control device for an automatic transmission in which a shift pattern is forcibly switched to a power mode during towing travel. However, even if such control is performed, it cannot be a fundamental measure for suppressing the excessive temperature rise of the ATF. Moreover, this device is only intended for mounting on a vehicle suitable for towing, such as a trailer.
[0006]
The present invention has been made in view of such circumstances, and provides a control device for an on-vehicle automatic transmission that can more easily and accurately suppress a rise in the temperature of oil (ATF) circulating in a torque converter. The purpose is to do.
[0007]
[Means for Solving the Problems]
Hereinafter, means for solving the above-described problems and the effects thereof will be described.
According to a first aspect of the present invention, there is provided a control device for an in-vehicle automatic transmission including a lock-up clutch mechanism and a torque converter, wherein the traveling state determination unit determines a traveling state of the vehicle and the traveling state determination unit determines the traveling state of the vehicle. When it is determined that the vehicle is traveling uphill and towing, lock-up operation region changing means for enlarging a lock-up operation region that is an operation region when the lock-up clutch mechanism is turned on. The point is to prepare.
[0008]
According to this configuration of the first aspect of the invention, when it is determined that the vehicle is traveling uphill and towing, the lockup operation region is expanded and the frequency of the lockup operation is increased. Will increase. As a result, the time during which the torque converter transmits torque under a large torque load is shortened, and an increase in the temperature of the oil (ATF) circulating in the torque converter can be suppressed.
[0009]
According to a second aspect of the present invention, in the control device for an in-vehicle automatic transmission according to the first aspect, the traveling state determining means includes an inclination detecting means for detecting an actual inclination of the vehicle, Inclination estimating means for estimating the inclination of the vehicle based on various driving parameters and the weight of the vehicle when the vehicle is not towed, and the actual inclination detected by these inclination detecting means and the inclination estimated by the inclination estimating means. The gist is to determine whether or not the vehicle is traveling uphill and towing based on the above.
[0010]
According to such a configuration of the second aspect of the invention, the actual inclination of the vehicle is detected and the inclination of the vehicle is estimated, and the running state of the vehicle can be determined based on these. The slope estimated here is calculated based on various driving parameters of the vehicle when the vehicle is assumed to be in a non-tow running state (assuming the weight of the vehicle to be the weight when the vehicle is not towing). This is the slope estimated to be of this magnitude. In other words, if the vehicle is in a towing mode, various operating parameters (e.g., the throttle valve opening is larger than normal) corresponding to the towing mode, and the inclination estimated based on this is the actual inclination. The value is larger than the inclination. Therefore, based on the actual inclination and the estimated inclination, it can be determined whether or not the vehicle is in a state of towing. Also, whether or not the vehicle is traveling uphill can be determined based on the detected actual inclination. When it is determined that the vehicle is traveling uphill and towing, the lock-up operation area is expanded, and the frequency of the lock-up operation increases. As a result, the time required for the torque converter to transmit torque under a large torque load is reduced, and an increase in ATF temperature can be suppressed.
[0011]
According to a third aspect of the present invention, in the control device for an on-vehicle automatic transmission according to the second aspect, the traveling state determining means includes an inclination estimated by the inclination estimating means and an actual inclination detected by the inclination detecting means. The gist is to judge that the vehicle is traveling uphill and towing based on the difference from the inclination of the vehicle being larger than a predetermined reference value.
[0012]
According to this configuration of the invention, it is determined that the vehicle is traveling uphill and towing only when the vehicle is towing a certain weight or more, and the lock-up operation area is expanded. Will be done. As a result, when the towing weight is small and the ATF temperature does not rise so much, or when the difference between the estimated inclination and the actual inclination is due to a calculation error or a detection error, an unnecessary lock-up operation area is required. Can be suppressed from being executed.
[0013]
According to a fourth aspect of the present invention, in the control apparatus for an in-vehicle automatic transmission according to the second or third aspect, the inclination estimating means includes a load and a rotation speed of an engine mounted on the vehicle, and the automatic transmission. The gist of the present invention is to estimate the inclination of the vehicle based on the shift speed of the vehicle and the weight of the vehicle when it is not towed.
[0014]
According to such a configuration of the invention, the load and rotation speed of the engine and the gear position of the automatic transmission are determined as various operation parameters during traveling of the vehicle, and the various operation parameters and the non-traction of the vehicle are determined. The inclination of the vehicle can be estimated based on the weight at the time. That is, when the vehicle is traveling uphill at a constant speed, the driving force of the engine and the traveling resistance of the vehicle are balanced, so that the relationship between various operating parameters and the inclination of the uphill road during non-traction travel of the vehicle is determined in advance. By obtaining this, the inclination of the vehicle can be estimated. As described above, the traveling state of the vehicle can be determined based on the actual inclination and the estimated inclination.
[0015]
According to a fifth aspect of the present invention, in the control device for an in-vehicle automatic transmission according to any one of the first to fourth aspects, the control device further includes means for detecting a temperature of oil circulating in the torque converter. The gist of the up-operation region changing means is to execute the enlargement of the lock-up operation region only when the oil temperature detected by the means is equal to or higher than the reference temperature.
[0016]
According to such a configuration of the invention described in claim 5, the lock-up operation range can be expanded only when the rise in the temperature of the oil (ATF) circulating in the torque converter is actually a problem. become. As a result, when switching between the torque transmission by the hydraulic transmission mechanism of the torque converter and the torque transmission by the lock-up clutch mechanism, it is possible to minimize problems such as giving the driver a sense of incongruity.
[0017]

Hereinafter, with respect to the control device for an on-vehicle automatic transmission according to the present embodiment, aspects of determination of a traveling state of the vehicle and lock-up control will be described in detail with reference to FIGS.
[0030]
FIG. 3 is a flowchart showing an execution procedure of the lock-up control of the control device for the vehicle-mounted automatic transmission. A series of processing shown in this flowchart is repeatedly executed by the
[0031]
As shown in FIG. 3, in this series of processing, first, the
[0032]
After reading various signals in this way, it is determined whether or not the vehicle is in a state of traveling uphill and towing (step 110). Specifically, based on the actual inclination In detected by the
[0033]
After executing the process of determining whether or not the vehicle is traveling uphill and towing as described above, the traveling state of the vehicle is determined based on the determination result (step 120). Specifically, when the value of a flag F (described later) representing the above determination result is set to “1”, it is determined that the vehicle is traveling uphill and towing, and the value of the flag F becomes When it is set to "0", it is determined that the vehicle is not in a state of climbing and towing.
[0034]
As a result of this determination, when it is determined that the vehicle is traveling uphill and towing, it is determined whether the ATF temperature is higher than a predetermined reference value (step 120: YES). (Step 130). Specifically, it is determined whether or not the ATF temperature Th detected by the
[0035]
When it is determined that the ATF temperature is higher than the predetermined reference value through this determination processing (step 130: YES), the lock-up operation region is expanded (step 140). Specifically, as shown in FIG. 4, the lock-up operation is performed by selecting either a lock-up off area or a lock-up on area divided by the accelerator opening Ap and the vehicle speed SPD. Here, the accelerator opening Ap is detected by the
[0036]
On the other hand, when it is determined that the vehicle is not in a state of traveling uphill and towing, (step 120: NO) or when it is determined that the ATF temperature is not higher than a predetermined reference value (step 130: In the case of NO), the lock-up operation region is set to normal (step 150). Specifically, the lock-up operation area shown in FIG. 4 is not changed, and the boundary between the lock-up off area and the lock-up on area is maintained at the position shown by the broken line. That is, when the vehicle is not traveling uphill or towing, the ATF temperature does not usually rise excessively, so that the need to expand the lockup operation range is reduced. Further, even when it is determined that the vehicle is traveling uphill and towing, if the ATF temperature does not rise above a predetermined reference value, it is similarly necessary to expand the lockup operation region. Lower. For example, it is expected that the ATF temperature will not increase so much when the time during which the uphill traveling and the towing traveling are performed is short, or when the temperature is low in winter or the like. In the present embodiment, the
[0037]
After the lock-up operation area is expanded or made normal in this way, lock-up control is executed according to the changed lock-up operation area (step 160). Specifically, in the control of the lock-up clutch 26, the
[0038]
Next, the above-described determination of uphill traveling and towing traveling (step 110) will be described in detail with reference to the flowchart of FIG.
In this series of processing, first, it is determined whether or not the actual inclination is greater than a predetermined reference value (step 1110). Specifically, it is determined whether or not the actual inclination In detected by the
[0039]
If it is determined that the actual inclination is greater than the predetermined reference value through this determination processing (step 1110: YES), the load and rotation speed of the engine, the gear position of the automatic transmission, and the time of non-traction of the vehicle Is estimated based on the weight of the vehicle (step 1112). Specifically, when the vehicle is traveling uphill at a constant speed, since the driving force of the
[0040]
After the inclination is estimated in this way, it is determined whether or not the difference between the estimated inclination and the actual inclination is larger than a predetermined reference value (step 1114). Specifically, it is determined whether or not the difference between the estimated slope InEs and the actual slope In is greater than a reference value InR. Here, the reference value InR is a value obtained by converting the weight to be pulled into an inclination, and is set to, for example, 2 degrees with reference to a gentle inclination (about 2 degrees or less). That is, the reference value InR set here is set when the towing weight is small and the ATF temperature does not rise so much, or when the difference between the estimated inclination and the actual inclination is due to a calculation error or a detection error. It is set to a value that can exclude etc.
[0041]
When it is determined that the difference between the estimated inclination and the actual inclination is larger than a predetermined reference value through this determination processing (step 1114: YES), the state indicates that the vehicle is traveling uphill and towing. A determination is made (step 1116). Specifically, the value of the flag F indicating the result of this determination is set to “1”, and this series of processing is temporarily ended. Thereafter, as described above, the processing after
[0042]
On the other hand, when it is determined that the actual inclination is not larger than the predetermined reference value (step 1110: NO), or when it is determined that the difference between the estimated inclination and the actual inclination is not larger than the predetermined reference value ( In step 1114: NO), it is determined that the vehicle is not in the state of climbing traveling and towing traveling (step 1118). Specifically, the value of the flag F representing the result of this determination is set to “0”, and this series of processing is temporarily ended. Thereafter, as described above, the processing after
[0043]
As described above, according to the present embodiment, it is possible to obtain the excellent effects listed below.
(1) When it is determined that the vehicle is traveling uphill and towing, the lock-up operation area is expanded and the frequency of the lock-up operation increases. As a result, the time required for the
[0044]
(2) The actual inclination In of the vehicle is detected and the inclination InEs of the vehicle is estimated, and the running state of the vehicle can be determined based on these.
[0045]
(3) As various operation parameters, the throttle valve opening Ta detected by the throttle
[0046]
(4) The lock-up operation range is expanded only when the difference between the estimated inclination InEs and the actual inclination In is larger than the reference value InR. As a result, unnecessary lockup occurs when the towed weight is small and the ATF temperature does not rise so much, or when the difference between the estimated slope InEs and the actual slope In is due to a calculation error or a detection error. It is possible to suppress execution of the expansion of the operation region.
[0047]
(5) The lock-up operation range can be expanded only when an increase in the temperature of the oil (ATF) circulating in the torque converter actually poses a problem. As a result, at the time of switching between the torque transmission by the hydraulic transmission mechanism of the torque converter and the torque transmission by the lock-up clutch 26, it is possible to minimize problems such as giving an uncomfortable feeling to the driver.

However, for example, as shown in steps 1122 to 1124 in FIG. The processing procedure may be used to determine that the vehicle is in towing travel. That is, the speed of the automatic transmission detected by the engine speed Ne detected by the
[0050]
In the above embodiment, as shown in steps 130 to 140 in FIG. 3, it is determined whether or not the ATF temperature is higher than a predetermined reference value, and the lock-up operation is performed only when the ATF temperature is higher than the predetermined reference value. Although the region is enlarged, the determination process may be omitted. Also in such a configuration, the time during which the
