Abstract
【解決手段】最大サーチ時間を均等にさせる方法は、データストリームのビットレートを確認し、確認されたビットレートによってストリーム記録単位体の区切り単位(区切り時間単位)を変えて設定して記録すれば、記録データストリームのビットレートにかかわらずストリーム記録単位体のサイズを一定に区切ることが出来る。したがって、ストリーム記録単位体内の最大サーチ時間が均等になる。

Description
図1の選局処理部(110)で選局されて入力されるデータストリームを記録媒体に記録するという使用者の要請が入力されると、セットトップボックス(100)の制御部(140)は、IEEE1394通信インターフェイス(130、210)を通じてスリーマ(200)の制御部(250)に記録モードが設定されたことを通知すると共に、受信入力されるデータストリームを通信インターフェイス(130、210)を通じてストリーマ(200)側に送る。このときに、セットトップボックス(100)の制御部(140)は、受信されるデータストリームのビットレートを検出してストリーマ(200)側に伝達する。このビットレートは、PES(Pecketized Elementary Stream)パケットのPESヘッダーにあるESビットレート(elementary stream rate;ES rate)あるいは、転送ストリーム(TS)パケットのヘッダーにある個別ストリームビットレート(piecewise rate;PW rate)を検出して算出する。

- デジタルデータストリームのデータを複数の記録単位体にグループ分けする過程と、
前記データにアクセスするためのマップ情報を作成する過程と
を備え、前記マップ情報が、前記記録単位体のそれぞれに関連したアクセスタイム情報及び記録単位体情報を含むことを特徴とする、管理情報を提供する方法。 - 請求項1に記載の、管理情報を提供する方法において、
前記記録単位体情報が、記録単位体それぞれに関連した記録単位体プレゼンテーションタイム情報(PTS)及び記録単位体サイズ情報を含むことを特徴とする、管理情報を提供する方法。 - 請求項2に記載の、管理情報を提供する方法において、
記録単位体それぞれに関連した記録単位体サイズ情報が、記録単位体それぞれのサイズを識別することを特徴とする、管理情報を提供する方法。 - 請求項2に記載の、管理情報を提供する方法において、
