本実施形態の装置は、既存建物の改修に際して1階を作業階としてそこから地下階に対して掘削を行い、その掘削土砂を地下階から1階に揚重して10t程度の大型のダンプトラック1に積み込んで搬出するためのもので、その揚重積み込み作業を1階の有効階高の範囲内、すなわち2階のスラブ2を支持している梁3の梁下有効寸法の範囲内で行うべく、クラムシェル4と底開式バケット5を併用するようにしたものである。
