Abstract
Description
【0001】

まず、親基地41からセンシングMote34(本実施例の場合は微小球レンズ撮像素子からなる画像センシングMote)へ制御信号及び電源エネルギー40aの供給を行う。
まず、親基地41より各センシングMote34(本実施例の場合は微小球レンズ撮像素子からなる画像センシングMote)へ制御信号及び電源エネルギー供給40aを行う。
まず、親基地41より各センシングMote34(本実施例の場合は微小球レンズ撮像素子からなる画像センシングMote)へ制御信号及び電源エネルギー40aの供給を行う。

TECHNICAL FIELD OF THE INVENTION
The present invention relates to a wireless communication device and a wireless communication method, and in particular, is suitably applied to a wireless communication device and a wireless communication method having a fine minute functional element that performs communication using wireless or light.
[0002]
[Prior art]
2. Description of the Related Art In recent years, wireless (Radio frequency: RF) and wireless communication using light have become popular. For example, mobile phones have become indispensable as wireless mobile communication tools that can communicate anytime and anywhere by using electromagnetic waves in the 900 to 1900 MHz band. In addition, as a communication means between personal computers (personal computers) and between a personal computer and a printer, a radio wave in the 2.45 GHz band is used in accordance with standards such as wireless LAN (IEEE802.11.b, a) and Bluetooth. Wireless communication has become possible and is widely used in offices and homes. In addition, the Suica card adopted by JR East in 2001 can read and write a ticket at a station ticket gate without contact using electromagnetic waves in the 13.56 MHz band.
[0003]
The above is a product of a palm size or larger, but a wireless communication device of a coin size or smaller, a so-called wireless tag, has also been used for applications such as individual recognition (ID). I have. For example, by inserting a small wireless tag of about 1 cm into a car key, it is possible to perform an authentication operation simultaneously with turning on the key to prevent theft. In addition, communication devices using light are also used for high-speed communication between a mountaintop and the ground, for example, in camera shooting at a mountaintop where wired communication is difficult.
[0004]
[Problems to be solved by the invention]
However, while wireless communication is essential for everyday life, its use has been limited. For example, in peer-to-peer communication using a mobile phone or a personal digital assistant (PDA), a parent base or individual terminals wirelessly communicate with each other, and a plurality of the individual bases function individually, but do not function as a group.
[0005]
Further, for example, in a pixel sensor such as a CCD and a CMOS, each pixel performs an imaging function, and thereafter, the information is collectively processed to form an entire imaging. At this time, the control signals of the individual pixels are transmitted from the control circuit via wires (electric wires) and processed. Similarly, a display element such as a liquid crystal has an individual pixel display function, and collectively displays an entire image, which are controlled by wiring. That is, these have a structure in which electric wiring for connecting two drive circuits and individual functional elements is arranged in a matrix. Such wiring is a great hindrance when photographing one subject from different angles, or when using it as a display element for a portable device by bending it thinly like paper.
[0006]
The present invention has been made in view of the above-described problems, and realizes a wireless communication device and a wireless communication method capable of functioning individually existing functional elements without being limited by various wired limitations. The purpose is to:

As a method of the self-power generation, a solar cell, an element for converting vibration into electric energy, or the like may be used. For example, the vibration energy may be changed to electric energy by using a structure in which both ends of the comb-shaped electrode are fixed to vibrate up and down and the capacitance changes with vibration. Alternatively, power generation by wind power or the like may be used. In addition, a fuel cell, such as a fuel cell, which has a self-power generation function and can easily perform physical fuel supply may be used. Alternatively, wireless or light energy may be used. For example, high-frequency energy of a carrier wave may be converted into direct current by a rectifier circuit, stored in a conductor or the like, and used in a processing circuit of a functional part. Such wireless energy supply is most desirable because it can be performed simultaneously while exchanging data transmission and is relatively insensitive to environmental conditions such as weather.

(Fourth embodiment)
Hereinafter, a wireless communication method used in the wireless communication device of the present invention will be described with reference to the drawings. The wireless communication described here is communication using electromagnetic waves other than light, so-called RF (Radio frequency) communication.
In the case of wireless communication, an electromagnetic wave having a frequency of about 1 kHz to about 100 GHz is generally used as a carrier wave. Radio communication methods are roughly classified into an electromagnetic induction method and a microwave method. In the electromagnetic induction system, when the communication distance is short, it may be called an electromagnetic coupling system. In the electromagnetic induction method, communication is performed using mutual induction of coils by an AC magnetic field.
[0070]
FIG. 12 is a schematic explanatory diagram of the electromagnetic induction system. When a current I flows in the transmitting coil L1 in the direction shown in the figure, a magnetic field H is generated in the direction shown. When an alternating current flows, an electromotive force is generated in the receiving coil L2 by electromagnetic induction. This electromagnetic induction enables power transmission as well as information transmission. In general, electromagnetic waves in the long and medium wave bands of 250 kHz or less or 13.56 MHz band are often used, but the frequency is not limited to these.
[0071]
When the electromagnetic induction method is used for the wireless communication device of the present invention, communication is performed by using a coil as an antenna of the small
[0072]
(Equation 1)
[0073]
FIG. 13 shows an example of an antenna of the electromagnetic induction type, in which the
[0074]
In the electromagnetic induction system, an alternating current is passed through an antenna and transmitted, and the receiving side receives a fluctuating magnetic field generated from the alternating current. Therefore, when the loop surface is arranged vertically toward the direction of travel of the magnetic field, that is, toward the transmitter, reception can be performed with the highest sensitivity.
[0075]
In the microwave system, data is transmitted and received between the
[0076]
FIG. 14 shows a configuration diagram as an example when a magnetic field is received. As a transmitting antenna of the parent base 4, a
[0077]
As shown in FIG. 15, it is also effective to arrange a material having high magnetic permeability and a
[0078]
In any case, reception can be performed with the highest sensitivity when the loop surface is arranged parallel to the direction of propagation of the electromagnetic wave, that is, the direction of the transmitter.
[0079]
FIG. 16 shows a configuration diagram as an example when an electric field is received. The transmitting antenna also uses a dipole antenna, but in this case shows the wave of the electric field E. Although a wave of the electric field E is generated in FIGS. 14 and 15 and a magnetic field B is generated in FIG. 16 similarly to FIGS. 14 and 15, they are not shown for simplification. Since the electric field E varies in intensity in parallel with the dipole antenna, the receiving sensitivity is highest when the receiving
[0080]
In the case of receiving an electric field or supplying an electromagnetic wave, the length of the dipole antenna is λ / 2, and the length of the so-called monopole antenna in which a single part on one side of the antenna is grounded is λ / 4. Is preferred. However, this length is not always necessary.
[0081]
In this system, the operating frequency in the microwave system described above is described as the 2.5 GHz band, but it is not necessarily limited to the 2.5 GHz band or another GHz band. If a mechanism for transmitting and receiving an electric field and a magnetic field is adopted, the present invention can be applied to other frequencies. However, the wavelength λ of the electromagnetic wave is 22.1 m at 13.56 MHz, 33.3 cm at 900 MHz, 12.2 cm at 2.45 GHz, 6.0 cm at 5 GHz, 3.0 cm at 10 GHz, 1.0 cm at 30 GHz, and 1.0 cm at 100 GHz. 3.0 mm. For this reason, when the microwave method is used for the
[0082]
However, if the frequency exceeds 60 GHz, it becomes difficult to use a normal Si transistor for the transmission / reception circuit, and a HEMT (high electron mobility transistor) must be used, which increases the cost. Therefore, electromagnetic waves having a frequency of 60 GHz or less are used. Is good. Further, in the current high-frequency technology, in a so-called millimeter-wave frequency band of 30 GHz or more, a circuit in a transmission / reception unit becomes complicated. Therefore, the frequency is preferably 30 GHz or less. However, there is a possibility that frequencies in the tens of GHz band can be used as technology advances, and this is not an essential requirement in principle for executing the present invention.
[0083]
The above is the case where the dielectric constant of the space in which the antenna transmits and receives electromagnetic waves is 1. If the dielectric constant of the substance around the antenna is set to be larger than 1, the wavelength can be effectively shortened, and the required antenna The length can be shortened. However, care must be taken because the loss increases as the extinction coefficient (absorption) increases.
Also, in principle, the receiving antenna can be used as a transmitting antenna, and therefore, it is possible in principle to reverse the transmission and reception relationship in FIGS. However, considering the transmission power efficiency and the like, it is preferable to use a dipole or monopole antenna as the antenna of the parent base 4 when the transmission distance is 10 cm or more. If the communication distance is less than 10 cm, especially less than several mm, it is preferable to use the electromagnetic induction method.
[0084]
Further, in order to reduce the size of the antenna of the small
[0085]
According to antenna engineering, when the wavelength of an electromagnetic wave is λ, the communication field is in the near-field region when the communication distance is less than λ / (2π), and the induction field, that is, the electromagnetic induction method is dominant. The field or microwave system will dominate. Therefore, whether to adopt the electromagnetic induction system or the microwave system is a measure of the communication distance.
