Description

【0001】

TECHNICAL FIELD OF THE INVENTION
The present invention relates to a retrofit security thumb-turn that covers an existing thumb-turn used for door locking and unlocking operations.
[0002]
[Prior art]
For example, a locking device provided on a door is configured to insert a double key (key) into a keyhole of a cylinder lock exposed to the outside and rotate the door to rotate a deadbolt advanced or retracted from a door opening of the door into a door frame. Locking and unlocking is performed by engaging and disengaging the strike provided in the door, and from the indoor side, simply turning the thumb turn knob to advance and retreat the deadbolt to easily lock and unlock the door. Like that.
[0003]
However, in recent years, illegal unlocking of unlocking a locking device by inserting a wire or the like through a post opening or a small hole opened by a mechanical tool, and locking and rotating the thumb turn, which is easy to rotate, has been increasing. For example, there is a security cover for a thumb turn disclosed in Japanese Utility Model Publication No. 4-40362, which prevents a wire or the like from rotating on such a thumb turn.
[0004]
As shown in FIGS. 4 and 5, the security cover 1 has an insertion hole 3 into which the thumb turn 2 is inserted, and a portion that covers the outer surface 2a of the thumb turn 2 that draws a circular locus 2b when rotating. It is formed in a circular shape along the shape locus. Then, set screws 4, 4 which are screwed into the fitting holes 3, abut against the side surfaces of the thumb turn 2, and are clamped from both sides are provided.
The security cover 1 having such a configuration covers the security cover 1 so as to cover the thumb turn 2 by inserting the thumb turn 2 into the fitting hole 3. After that, the set screws 4 and 4 are screwed in and tightened to fix the security cover 1 to the thumb turn 2. Therefore, it is difficult to lock and rotate a wire or the like by the security cover 1 put on the thumb turn 2.
[0005]
As another embodiment of the security cover, as shown in FIG. 6, a security cover 1 including a mounting portion 5 and a main body 6 is disclosed. The mounting portion 5 is formed so that the outer shape of the security cover 1 can be easily operated by hand, and is provided with a locking projection 5a with which the main body 6 is locked. The mounting portion 5 can easily rotate the thumb turn 2 while covering the thumb turn 2. Further, the main body 6 has a locking portion 6a that can be locked to the locking protrusion 5a. In this way, the security cover 1 can be attached and detached by a simple operation called a locking operation. Furthermore, since the main body 6 idles at the locking portion 6a, it becomes impossible to lock and rotate a wire or the like.
[0006]
Further, as another embodiment of the security cover described above, as shown in FIG. 7, a spring member 8 is provided between the locking portion 6a and the locking projection 5a, and a plurality of There is disclosed an engagement concave portion 5b and an engagement convex portion 6b engageable with the engagement concave portion 5b.
With such a configuration, the main body 6 can always be kept attached. That is, the main body 6 always idles between the locking projections 5a and the locking portions 6a, and when it is desired to rotate the thumb turn 2, the main body 6 is pressed by hand and the engaging projection 6b is attached to the mounting portion 5a. By rotating the main body 6 in this engaged state, the thumb turn 2 could be rotated.
[0007]
[Problems to be solved by the invention]
However, since the security cover shown in FIGS. 4 and 5 has a cylindrical outer shape, when it is put on a thumb turn, it is originally an oval shape, so the locked or unlocked state of the thumb turn can be visually recognized by its rotational position. There is a problem that the locked state is made invisible and the operability of locking and unlocking is reduced.
[0008]
Further, since the security cover shown in FIG. 6 is composed of a mounting portion that allows the thumb turn to be operated to rotate and a main body portion that rotates and can be attached to and detached from the mounting portion, the detachable main body portion is removed. Storage management becomes complicated, and there is a possibility that the main body may be lost.
[0009]
Further, the security cover shown in FIG. 7 can keep the main body attached at all times, so that the main body is not lost. However, when rotating the thumb turn, the main body must be rotated while pressing by hand. Operability was reduced.
[0010]
SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION The present invention has been made in view of the above circumstances, and a first object of the present invention is to prevent rotation of a thumb turn by a wire, a rod, or the like, eliminate the need for a detachable member, and enable operation by only rotation as in the past. The purpose of the present invention is to improve the security and operability by providing a retrofit security thumb-turn. A second object of the present invention is to provide a retrofit security thumb-turn in which the rotational position of the thumb-turn can be easily visually recognized, thereby improving operability.

[0019]
BEST MODE FOR CARRYING OUT THE INVENTION
Hereinafter, preferred embodiments of a retrofit security thumb-turn according to the present invention will be described in detail with reference to the drawings.
1 is a longitudinal sectional view showing a retrofit security thumb-turn according to the present invention together with an existing thumb-turn, FIG. 2 is an exploded perspective view of the retrofit security thumb-turn shown in FIG. 1, and FIG. 3 is a cover member and an arc plate shown in FIG. It is explanatory drawing which represented the modification of (a) in sectional view (a) and side view (b).
[0020]
First, prior to the description of the retrofit security turn 21 according to the present embodiment, an existing thumb turn 23 that is to be covered by the retrofit security turn 21 will be described.
As shown in FIG. 1, a lock box (not shown) is provided on the door 25, and the lock box includes a latch bolt, a dead bolt, and a lock box mechanism for moving these components forward and backward from the opening of the door 25. .
The door 25 has an existing thumb tern 23 projecting from an indoor surface 25a which is an indoor surface. The deadbolt of the lock box can be advanced and retracted from the opening of the door 25 by using a key on a cylinder lock provided on the outdoor surface of the door 25 or by turning the knob 31 of the existing thumb turn 23.
[0021]
The existing thumb turn 23 includes a tubular support portion 27, a thumb turn shaft 29 that is inserted into the tubular support portion 27, and a knob 31 that is connected to the thumb turn shaft 29 so as to be relatively non-rotatable or formed integrally with the thumb turn shaft 29. A substantially conical shape which is externally fitted to the tip of the cylindrical support portion 27 and a coil spring 35 which is externally fitted to the decorative tube 33 and is externally inserted into the cylindrical support portion 27 and pressed against the indoor surface 25a. It has a decorative ring 37 as a main component.
[0022]
The cylindrical support 27 is formed in a substantially cylindrical shape. A pair of convex portions 39, 39 in a direction perpendicular to the axis are provided on the rear end portion 27a of the cylindrical support portion 27 on the upper and lower sides of the outer periphery. The fixing holes 41 are formed in these convex portions 39, 39. The rear end of the cylindrical support 27 is inserted into an insertion hole 25b formed in the indoor surface 25a, and is fixed to a lock box (not shown) provided in the door 25 through the fixing hole 41. As a result, the cylindrical support portion 27 is non-rotatably fixed to the lock box, and is fixed to the indoor surface 25a side of the door 25 via the lock box.
[0023]
The distal end of the cylindrical support portion 27 protrudes from the indoor surface 25a, and a substantially conical decorative ring 37 whose distal end is cut off is attached to the outer periphery thereof so that the distal end portion becomes the distal end of the cylindrical support portion 27. I have. A decorative cylinder 33 is provided at the distal end of the cylindrical support portion 27 and covers the distal end surface of the cylindrical support portion 27.
[0024]
The thumb turn shaft 29 has an input portion 43 having a cross-section at its base end, and the input portion 43 is fitted into the input shaft of a lock box mechanism (not shown) so as to be relatively non-rotatable. The thumb turn shaft 29 is inserted into and supported by the cylindrical support portion 27, and a movement restricting member such as an E-ring (not shown) is attached to the thumb turn shaft 29. The distal end of the thumb turn shaft 29 is connected to the knob 31 projecting from the distal end surface of the decorative cylinder 33 so as to be relatively non-rotatable. Therefore, in the existing thumb turn 23, when the knob 31 is rotated, the inside of the lock box mechanism is operated by the input unit 43 through the thumb turn shaft 29, and the dead bolt advances and retreats from the opening of the door 25. .
[0025]
The retrofit security thumb-turn 21 according to the present embodiment can be retrofitted to the existing thumb-turn 23.
The retrofit security thumb-turn 21 covers the existing thumb-turn 23 by being attached to the arc-shaped plate 51 sandwiched between the indoor surface 25a and the decorative ring 37 via the engaging means 53 described later, and is flat. A cover member 57 having a substantially conical cylindrical shape having a support hole 55 at the top formed at the top, and a base end portion rotatably inserted into the support hole 55 of the cover member 57 and connected to the knob 31 so as to be relatively non-rotatable. A shaft body 59 which cannot be removed from the cover member 57 and which cannot be removed from the cover member 57; a rotating disk 61 which is not rotatable relative to the shaft body 59 protruding from the cover member 57 and is mounted at the same center; It has a window 63 (see FIG. 2) formed with a larger outer diameter than the plate 61 and rotatable about the shaft body 59 with the rotating disk 61 sandwiched from the front and back, and exposing the peripheral edge 61a of the rotating disk 61. With the idler member 65 There.
[0026]
The arc-shaped plate 51 has a substantially semi-annular flange portion 51a and a substantially semi-cylindrical side plate portion 51b erected along the outer periphery of the flange portion 51a. An L-shaped groove 51c, which constitutes one of the engaging means 53 having one open end, and a linear groove 51d, one end of which is open, are formed on both ends in the circumferential direction of the side plate portion 51b.
The arcuate plate 51 moves the decorative ring 37 in a direction away from the indoor surface 25a against the urging force of the coil spring 35, and inserts the flange portion 51a between the indoor surface 25a and the decorative ring 37. By pressing the 37 against the indoor surface 25a by the urging force of the coil spring 35, the flange portion 51a is nipped and fixed to the door 25.
[0027]
On the inner peripheral surface of the cover member 57, a pair of projections 57a constituting the other of the engaging means 53 is provided corresponding to the L-shaped groove 51c and the linear groove 51d, and the pair of projections 57a are the L-shaped groove 51c and the linear groove. It is possible to enter 51d. Therefore, the cover member 57 allows each projection 57a to enter the L-shaped groove 51c and the linear groove 51d with respect to the arc-shaped plate 51 sandwiched by the decorative ring 37, and then, for example, rotates counterclockwise in FIG. The projection 57a is engaged with the L-shaped groove 51c and the linear groove 51d, and is easily fixed to the door 25 via the arc-shaped plate 51.
[0028]
The connecting member 67 is attached to the knob 31 of the knob 31. The connection member 67 has a slit 67a for inserting the knob 31a on the rear surface side, and a substantially rectangular box-shaped connection portion 67b for connection with the base end of the shaft body 59 on the front surface side. Engaging holes 67e are formed in both side surfaces of the connecting portion 67b.
[0029]
The shaft body 59 has a slit groove 59a formed at the base end thereof, and the connecting portion 67b of the connecting member 67 fits inside the slit groove 59a. A pair of rotation restricting grooves 59c are formed on the outer periphery of the shaft body 59 so as to be parallel to the axial direction. Further, the tip of the shaft body 59 is a head 59d whose diameter has been increased to a substantially disk shape, and a rotation position display means 59e is provided on the tip of the head 59d.
[0030]
The rotation position display means 59e is used for marking with minute unevenness, printing or engraving, or color-coding by partial coloring. For example, as shown in FIG. 2, the rotation position display means 59e has a vertically long shape when unlocked, and when locked, that is, when the thumb turn shaft 29 is rotated 90 degrees clockwise, it becomes horizontally long. Unlocking and locking can be easily distinguished.
[0031]
The idling member 65 includes a bowl-shaped rear member 65a and a front member 65b. Each of the rear member 65a and the front member 65b has a through hole 69 at the center thereof, through which the shaft body 59 is inserted. The rear member 65a has a plurality of, in the present embodiment, four ridges 73 projecting from the curved surface of the bowl portion 71 and extending radially from the through hole 69 along the curved surface. Each ridge 73 extends from the bottom of the bowl 71. Similarly, the front member 65b also has a plurality of, in the present embodiment, four ridges 77 projecting from the curved surface of the bowl portion 75 and extending radially from the through hole 69 along the curved surface. Each ridge 77 extends from the bottom of the bowl 75.
[0032]
The rear member 65a and the front member 65b are integrally combined by fitting the protruding ends of the protruding ridges 73 and 77 to each other. Between the rear member 65a and the front member 65b combined in this way, that is, inside the idling member 65, an accommodation space in which the rotating disk 61 is loosely fitted is formed. Further, in the idling member 65, the circumferential gap between the ridges 73 and 77 serves as the window 63 to open the accommodation space. That is, a part of the peripheral edge 61 a of the rotating disk 61 housed in the housing space is exposed through the window 63.
[0033]
The shaft body 59 is inserted into the idling member 65 in which the rotating disk 61 is accommodated in the accommodation space. A through hole 61b is formed in the rotating disk 61, and a regulating protrusion 61c is provided in the through hole 61b so as to project toward the center. Accordingly, the rotating disk 61 is rotated relative to the shaft 59 by inserting the shaft 59 into the through hole 61b and fitting the regulating protrusion 61c into the rotation regulating groove 59c of the shaft 59. Be regulated. A knurl 61d is formed on the outer peripheral surface of the rotating disk 61 so that a peripheral edge 61a exposed from the window 63 is gripped so as to be hard to slip.
[0034]
The shaft body 59 penetrating the idler member 65 and the rotating disk 61 regulates the falling off of the idler member 65 by the head 59d, and the base end is inserted into the support hole 55 of the cover member 57, and the slit groove 59a is formed. Hold the connecting portion 67b of the connecting member 67. The shaft body 59 is provided with a pair of engagement holes 59f perpendicular to the axis, and the engagement holes 59f are open to the slit grooves 59a. The engagement hole 59f coincides with the engagement hole 67e of the connecting portion 67b in a state where the slit groove 59a sandwiches the connecting portion 67b. The C-shaped retaining ring 81 (see FIG. 1) is fitted into the engagement holes 59f and the engagement holes 67e that match in this manner.
Thus, the shaft body 59 is fixed integrally with the connecting portion 67b, and the retaining ring 81 is in contact with the front wall 57b of the cover member 57 so as not to come off from the cover member 57. The connecting member 67 and the shaft body 59 may be engaged by the concave / convex engaging portion 82 (see FIG. 1) provided between them in addition to the retaining ring 81. Note that the shaft body 59 is also supported by the cover member 57 so as to be prevented from falling off by the washers 84a and 84b shown in FIG.
[0035]
Thus, the idling member 65, the rotating disk 61, and the connecting member 67 are integrally assembled to the cover member 57 via the shaft body 59. Then, the cover member 57 to which these members are attached is attached to the arc-shaped plate 51 as described above.
[0036]
Next, the operation of the present embodiment will be described.
First, the case of locking from the indoor side will be described.
The operator grips the peripheral edge 61 a of the rotating disk 61 exposed from the window 63. At this time, the picked finger may also pick the idler member 65 at the same time.
[0037]
When the rotating disk 61 is rotated, for example, clockwise by twisting the pinched hand, the shaft body 59 and the knob 31 also rotate accordingly. When the lock box mechanism is operated by, for example, 90 degrees, the input unit 43 of the thumb turn shaft 29 operates the deadbolt to advance to the opening of the door 25.
[0038]
Thus, the door 25 is locked from the indoor side. At this time, the rotation position display means 59e of the head 59d of the shaft body 59 is horizontally long, and it can be visually recognized that the lock is locked from the indoor side.
[0039]
Note that a finger pinching the peripheral edge 61a of the rotating disk 61 comes into contact with the side portions of the ridges 73 and 77 as the rotating disk 61 rotates, whereby the idling member 65 rotates. It rotates in the same direction as the moving disk 61.
[0040]
Next, when unlocking from the locked state, the peripheral edge 61a of the rotating disk 61 that is exposed from between the ridges 73 and the ridges 77 is picked. When the rotating disk 61 is rotated in the counterclockwise direction, the thumb turn shaft 29 also rotates accordingly. When the rotating disk 61 is rotated by 90 degrees, the inside of the lock box mechanism is operated by the input unit 43 of the thumb turn shaft 29, and the dead bolt that has advanced to the opening of the door 25 is retracted from the opening of the door 25. .
[0041]
Thus, the door 25 is unlocked from the indoor side. At this time, the rotational position display means 59e of the head 59d of the shaft body 59 is vertically long, and it is visually recognized that the door is unlocked from the indoor side.
[0042]
Further, when locking the door, a small window provided on the door 25 or the like is broken, or a wire is inserted through a gap between the door 25 and the door frame, and if the user attempts to illegally operate the retrofit security thumb-turn 21 from outside, the turning circle is required. Even if an attempt is made to lock the wire to the plate 61, the wire can be locked because of the disk shape, and the wire slides in the circumferential direction.
[0043]
Further, even if the wire is to be locked to the ridges 73 and 77, the idle member 65 itself is rotatable with respect to the shaft 59, so that only the idle member 65 idles. The 59 and the knob 31 cannot be rotated, so that the dead bolt does not advance or retreat. Therefore, unauthorized unlocking can be prevented.
[0044]
Thus, according to the retrofit security thumb-turn 21 described above, the existing thumb-turn 23 is covered by the cover member 57, and the knob 31 of the existing thumb-turn 23 can be operated by the rotating disk 61. An idling member 65 that exposes a part of the rotating disk 61 is covered. Therefore, even if a wire, a rod, or the like is used, the rotating disk 61 slides, and the idling member 65 does not transmit rotational force to the knob 31 due to idling. When the knob 31 is operated, the rotating disk 61 exposed from the window 63 is gripped, so that the locking and unlocking operation can be performed only by a conventional rotation operation.
[0045]
In addition, since the idling member 65 is provided outside the rotating disk 61, the rotating disk 61 exposed from the window 63 can be picked together with the idling member 65, and only the rotating disk 61 is picked. As compared with the above, the finger is less likely to slip, and the rotating operation causes the idling member 65 to rotate together with the rotating disk 61, so that an operational feeling of the operator can be obtained and the operability can be improved. .
[0046]
Further, the arc-shaped plate 51 is sandwiched between the indoor surface 25a of the door 25 and the decorative ring 37, and the L-shaped groove 51c of the arc-shaped plate 51 is aligned with the protrusion 57a of the cover member 57 to rotate the cover member 57. By doing so, the projection 57a is engaged with the L-shaped groove 51c, and the arc-shaped plate 51 and the cover member 57 can be easily and irremovably attached.
[0047]
Further, the rotational position of the knob 31 which cannot be visually recognized by being covered with the cover member 57 can be known via the rotational position display means 59e, and the operability can be improved.
[0048]
In the above-described embodiment, four ridges 73 and four ridges 77 are formed in the circumferential direction. However, the number of ridges 73 and 77 is not limited to four. Or five or more. In this case, the interval between the protruding ridges 73 and the protruding ridges 77 only needs to be such that the rotating disk 61 is pinched by a finger and can be rotated.
[0049]
Further, in the above-described embodiment, an example has been described in which the engaging means 53 is the protrusion 57 a protruding from the inner surface of the cover member 57 and the L-shaped groove 51 c and the linear groove 51 d formed in the arc-shaped plate 51. However, as shown in FIG. 3, the engaging means includes a convex portion 91 protruding from the inner peripheral rear portion of the cover member 57 and a concave portion 93 formed on the arc-shaped plate 51 and into which the convex portion 91 enters. For example, a combination of these convex portions 91 and concave portions 93 may be used. According to such an engagement means, the arcuate plate 51 is sandwiched between the indoor surface 25 a of the door 25 and the decorative ring 37, and the concave portion 93 of the arcuate plate 51 presses the convex portion 91 of the cover member 57. If it is inserted, the convex portion 91 is engaged with the concave portion 93 with one touch, and the arc-shaped plate 51 and the cover member 57 can be easily and irremovably attached.

【The invention's effect】
As described above, according to the retrofit security thumb-turn according to claim 1 of the present invention, the existing thumb-turn is covered by the cover member, and the knob of the existing thumb-turn can be operated by the rotating disk, and Since the rotating member that exposes a part of the rotating disk is covered, the rotating disk slides even if a wire or a rod is used, and the rotating member idles to rotate the rotating force to the thumb turn. Input can be blocked. When the thumb turn is operated, the locking and unlocking operation can be performed only by the same rotation operation as in the related art by pinching the rotating disk exposed from the window. As a result, a detachable member is not required, and security and operability can be improved.
[0051]
According to the second aspect of the present invention, since the engaging means is constituted by the L-shaped groove formed in the arc-shaped plate and the projection formed in the cover member, the engaging means is provided between the indoor surface of the door and the decorative ring. When the cover is rotated by holding the arc-shaped plate and rotating the cover with the protrusion of the cover member aligned with the L-shaped groove of the arc-shaped plate, the protrusion engages with the L-shaped groove and the work of mounting the arc-shaped plate and the cover is performed. And these can be easily attached without being detached. As a result, it is possible to easily obtain a configuration that enhances security against existing thumb turns.
[0052]
According to the retrofit security thumb-turn according to claim 3, the engaging means is constituted by a combination of a concave portion and a convex portion, and these are provided on the arc-shaped plate and the cover member, so that between the indoor surface of the door and the decorative ring. When the arc-shaped plate is sandwiched between the concave portions and the convex portion is pressed into the concave portion, the convex portion is engaged with the concave portion with one touch, and the arc-shaped plate and the cover member can be easily attached and cannot be detached. This makes it possible to easily attach the entire retrofit security thumb-turn to the indoor surface of the door, and to obtain a configuration that easily enhances the security of existing thumb-turns.
[0053]
According to the retrofit security thumb-turn according to claim 4, since the rotation position display means is provided on the tip end surface of the shaft body, the rotation position of the knob, which cannot be visually recognized by being covered by the cover member, is determined via the rotation position display means. Thus, the operability of locking and unlocking can be improved.
